“One window 52 inches wide and 49 inches high, over 600.00 dollars. A high grade hurricane proof, energy efficient window of the same size is less than half the cost. What am I missing, they advertise as a low cost alternative for noise and energy efficiency with no protection for adverse weather conditions. Look at alternatives people this is not anywhere near an affordable or an effective solution. It's a gimmick! A”

“We purchased ours to reduce outside noise. They do just that, our room is much quieter now, no more hearing cars or neighbors outside.”

“The company has been excellent with checking with us throughout the process. Help was available with every step. Calls verified that everything was fine. Emails kept us up to date on progress with manufacturing and shipment. They continued to verify if everything was fine after installing the panels. We inserted these throughout the ground floor windows and basement windows. It really helped cut the drafts in our old vintage windows, helping to preserve the character of the otherwise modern home.”

“Overpriced, overrated gimmick - buyer beware! I had two window inserts installed in a room adjacent to a busy street in the hopes they would help drown out some of the road / traffic noise but have not noticed any significant noise reduction, whatsoever. In fact, the background noise somehow sounds slightly louder, if that's even possible. Maybe if they actually worked, the 'used car' sales process and extended (2-3 months) lead times might be worth it but they do not. Do not waste your $ or time!”

While our independent studies and customer testimonials certainly speak to the effectiveness of our inserts, we openly acknowledge that all sound situations are unique. Depending on the interior environment, sound may be entering through areas other than the window openings and may necessitate additional soundproofing techniques. “The large 9-pane window in my mid-century modern home is the only window that was not replaced by the original owners. I’m glad it wasn’t, because it adds a lot of charm to the house. Our first winter in the house, I could feel the cold radiating off those windows! It was a tough choice: close the curtains to avoid the cold, or open them for the natural light. This winter, with my Indows, I don’t have to choose! I’m sitting in my recliner right next to the windows, enjoying the afternoon sun.”

“I love these inserts. They have greatly reduced street noise coming through our bedroom windows. We live in a rural area so there isn't much traffic, but it seems that everyone around here drives a monster truck with huge, loud exhaust pipes. These help a lot. We also got some triple pane windows in other parts of the house and, dare I say, these inserts work much better than the 3P windows for noise reduction”

“They say Indow inserts block out about 80% of outside noise, and that is definitely true. The pool pump and neighbor's 6 roosters outside can no longer be heard. Planes flying overhead can be, but I'm grateful for my Indow. Took a LONG time to get (6 months, I think!) but very much worth it for my business.”

“Terrible customer service: after I committed to spending $1500 on these products I was told they'd take 10 weeks to fabricate, which was confusing b/c I could order entirely new windows faster than that, but I just assumed they were backed up. In fact, they were not backed up at all, they were not producing any products. They were moving factories and did not disclose this during my order. The products I ordered ended up taking 24 weeks to come (half a year!). The installer was rude and sloppy. When I asked him to redo his crappy install job he gave me attitude then had the balls to hassle me for payment almost immediately. If it takes your company half a year to get me the products I ordered I will pay you when I damn well please, not immediately. The product once installed is good, but I would never recommend this company or product to anyone b/c of their terrible customer service.”

Chris Thanks for the feedback. We are indeed sorry to hear that your experience was less than optimal. While we certainly understand the frustrations regarding the extended lead times, we would like to clarify a few issues. While we did change production facilities, this had only a minimal impact on the lead times, as production was only briefly interrupted. The unprecedented supply chain issues that we faced (including unique material shortages for acrylic and silicone) and labor shortages were the main reasons behind the extended lead times. We certainly acknowledge the impact that these extended timelines have had on our customers during this time. Thankfully, these supply chain issues have now begun to ease and we have begun to reduce lead times accordingly. Throughout these unprecedented and unpredictable times, we have done our very best to provide accurate information to our customers. We have also made note of the issues you brought up concerning this dealer and have escalated the issue to our management team for follow-up. While we cannot directly control the service of the third party, we take customer service concerns extremely seriously when determining ongoing relationships. We are happy to hear that you have no issues with the product itself or its effectiveness, rating it as a good product in your review.

“My bedroom window is very drafty, so I had a custom-fitted Indow installed. The window was so leaky, though, that winds kept pushing the Indow into the room. The fitter and installer, Jeff Klein, returned to fit retaining pegs into the window frame. Now all is good!”

Paul, Thanks for the review. That does sound like a very drafty window. We are so glad to hear that your dealer could provide the retaining pins necessary. We often use retaining pins on skylight installations, but it is nice to hear feedback for these rare occasions when extreme drafts necessitate their use with traditional windows. “It works as well as exxpected. I still hear noise and trashcans in the morning but now they sound a block or so away instead of right outside my window (which they are). I'd say it cuts noise pollution by a lot. I uploaded a foto of my insert as well as a video of the day the hospital next door was being painted. The indow had just arrived and worked.”

“First off...Pandemic. I get it. The measurement process was horrific. I got my indow over a year after ordering only to find that after installing it, I'd get about a 3.5 dB reduction in mid to high frequencies with the only window in the room. Ambient noise is diminished a bit but was it worth $500? Hardly. $100 ? perhaps. The wait time is excusable, the communication between my sales rep and I after numerous emails, and him never getting back to me after being quick to sell the product? inexcusable. I'm sitting here really missing that $500”

“Despite only two-out-of-three living room windows being covered with Indow inserts (the third window's sill depth was too shallow), street traffic is notably muffled and the room is much quieter. The inserts were placed in front of two single-pane aluminum-framed windows while the third window, with its original wood frame, affords better soundproofing. I wasn't sure this partial solution was going to work but I am pleased that it did.”

We are generally cautious of using such partial solutions, as sound can enter through neglected openings. However, as in your case, some partial solutions can indeed be very effective. We are glad that our inserts were able to help with the traffic noise in your home. A little quiet is a very good thing.

“The inserts are working as expected and are doing a great job reducing street noise. My areas for improvement: - Waited 5 months to receive them. I understand that this is due to supply chain issues (i.e., uncontrollable factors) but I felt that the communication could have been better. Every email was a generic "We'll let you know when it ships". At a minimum, maybe let me know my position in the queue? - I really wish there was a "managed service" option (i.e. pay extra to have someone come measure the windows and install the inserts when they arrive). I'm TERRIBLE when it comes to any DIY home improvement and was stressed I didn't measure correctly. I even had to hire a contractor to plug the inserts in (and do related work like re-installing the blinds)”

While we certainly did our best to communicate details to our customers throughout the process, it was not always possible to give accurate projections due to constantly changing realities.
