Bad they take advantage of people ready in a horrible situation it's all about money

Caught my DUI in 2012, had this device put in my car for the 1st time in 2016 by THEIR mechanic, paid them for 10 months of what was supposed to be a year long term and just when I thought i was getting close to a year, they told me the 10 months didn't count because I "didn't sign the equipment lease". The equipment ruined my vehicle with electrical issues and I had to buy numerous batteries due to the machine draining my battery so many times that I lost count. My 2nd time trying to work with them and having this machine in my car, for the same 2012 DUI, was from 2020 - Present!.. My lease was initially signed, but everytime I get an Eligibility Date for Removal, they make me sign a new "lease" or they will refuse to take my payment for Unlock/Calibration etc., forcing me to miss work and become more in debt. My Removal Eligibility Date has been pushed back by months, so many times, again I've lost count, but every time I'm going through a hardship and cant afford to pay, my car ends up down and I miss work. Already struggling to pay rent/bills, take care of my kids and make it to work, Intoxalock has refused take payment unless a new lease was signed, pushed my eligibility date back everytime my time is up, usually if I can't pay so my car would be down and in Lockout for weeks at a time, a few times, months. I get penalized by Intoxalock over and over for being poor, Im on a government program to afford a place to live and receive government assistance. I wasn't on any of these programs, in need of help until this 2nd time having the Intoxalock device in my vehicle (20' - 24'). More importantly, I've learned my lesson and am thankful for what the Judge sentenced me, because now I know better. But that was over 10 years ago and if anything drives me to need a drink, it's this abusive company taking all of my money, subject to have my right to travel taken away from me if I can't pay, when I don't have it. And then keeping me in this system and taking away from me and my children, LITERALLY. I have had the State Representative's Office in contact with Intoxalock on my behalf for a while now and without them finally letting me off of this machine, I think I have some people in my corner who understand and see what has been going on all these years. The Judge only sentenced me to have this machine in for a year, I haven't caught any new charges involving drinking, haven't been in any accidents and am thankful for Intoxalock making me realize with this machine, that even a little bit is too much, when it comes to drinking and driving. But to have me on it this long and refusing to let me go and continuously denying me account information when I owe, stopping me from making it to work and to my kids because I owe, etc .. for so long now. It's wrong! My State Representative's Office and I have a new point of contact, but at this point I'm tired of being bullied by the people and operators at Intoxalock, that I'm afraid to take the call because they might trick me again. My most recent Removal Eligibility Date was 9/9/24, before that July, 2024, before that, Oct., 2023 and so on and so on, i have my right to receive an actual license from the DMV, but Intoxalock still chooses to financially lynch me, instead of realizing my time is up. I am a 36 year old Native American/Black Father of 4 and I'm struggling to do for my family because I can't afford to pay Intoxalock in order to work consistently while waiting check to check, when i pay them weekly, for years. If I owe them they won't give me info on my account but when they want me to sign a "new Lease", they won't accept payment to get out of Lockout to drive.... This is cowardous, torturous, treasonous & tyrannous. I will be looking for more safe, yet public places to be heard!

Intoxalock got my friend’s birthday wrong on the California DMV 902 form. I am rating their ability to fix this at one star because you don’t have a no stars rating. It’s been a week and have promised three times to send it and my friend is still waiting. Terrible customer service! They should rename their Customer Service department “Customer Disservice.

I think this company sucks balls. When I had it on my 2005 toyota Prius. it constantly killed my battery and I was charged $50 by intoxalock for violation. I was like wtf!!!! They said I had to drive my car everyday. I said why? Oh we need to know where the vehicle is located. I was like uhh it's at my house...you have my address and a ghp on my car so you know where it's at. I could go on and on

This company is a nightmare to work with. If you have a choice to have this device or not drive, don't drive. Heck, maybe get a bicycle. This company will find every reason they can to drain your time, money, and energy. First of all, getting the device installed and the time started is an almost impossible task. If the stars aligned enough to actually be blessed enough to actually talk to a person, you will most likely be told " we will send you an email" or " we are waiting for paperwork" when no one from the company will actually send the paperwork. The only way to get any progress is to talk to your state representative or write a bad review. My partner is the one who needed the machine installed. I had the machine installed in my vehicle trying to help. We had to have the machine in and were paying for it for 2 months before his time actually started. My vehicle started to have problems shortly after his time started. It would be fixed for a month then start to have problems and be taken for a few weeks and we'd get it back for a few weeks before sending back to the shop. 5 months after his time started, my vehicle broke down for the final time. It has not worked since. 2 different mechanics gave up on it. The company says there is NO WAY that their machine is responsible however at this point almost everything that can be replaced has been replaced on my vehicle. The only consistent factor has been the interlock. I have talked to other people who have experience with this company. One has the same maker and year as my vehicle. They had the EXACT SAME ISSUE. The mechanic who installed the machine was so fed up with my vehicle that he dropped it off with the battery dead. Knowing my partner's time would most likey pause, we would have to get it towed back to his shop to pay him $30 for calibration fee plus $75 to the intoxalock company. And thats only for a month calibration. I have not had a vehicle for 7 months and my partner's time was supposed to be over in the beginning of this month. However getting a hold of anyone from this company is almost impossible. He has been hung up on more than actually talking to an intoxalock representative. He was trying to get his declaration of compliance signed however they are refusing to sign it because our vehicle has been off. As soon as we realized that our vehicle was not gonna be running again, my partner tried to call intoxalock to let them know what was happening. Several emails send, all were IGNORED. Several calls were made, all were IGNORED!! The only time he was called back was after he wrote a review talking about his experience. That helped a bit but the guy who was calling him was more interested in him taking down the review. Now this company is trying to get him to get another vehicle to install the machine in and extending his time another 5 MONTHS because he " did not comply with the whole" even though he has been still paying them money this entire time and can't even use the vehicle he is paying to have the machine in! He has not missed a payment but still to this company " he hasn't been complying enough" at this point he is paying to not drive and not have his license even though he has busted his butt and has complying the ENTIRE TIME. We went from no debt to in debt in the year span we have been working with this company . This company is strictly interested in making money, they do not care about the people, their situation, nothing. It is a money drain that will keep going and somehow it's all legal. Every time I think we are so close to being done and my partner is able to have his license back,BAM! A HIDDEN FEE FOR UNSEEN EXTENTION OR BAM! YOUR VEHICLE WILL STOP WORKING AND YOU WILL BE GASLIT AS HELL IF YOU SUGGEST ITS THE MACHINE! MY PARTNER HAS FULLY COMPLIED WITH EVERYTHING THAT WAS ASKED OF HIM AND ITS STILL NOT ENOUGH?! HE PUT IN HIS TIME! DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY! IT IS NOT WORK THE MONEY AND HEADACHE THAT COMES WITH IT!

Do not do not I repeat again do not ever go with this company because they lie and lie to you and there service is horrible they hang up on you and make excuse, it is nearly impossible to talk to live person once you sign up with them and they Constantly change the check update or calibration day. And there excuses that the court requested it And I talked to the court if there was true and they say they do no such thing.

I’ve had their equipment in my vehicle for less than two weeks and I have had to have my vehicle towed to have it swapped out once already and they are changing it out again. This has caused me to miss a flight and be late to work. It has worked properly 3 times!!! Customer service hold time is ridiculous and they don’t speak English, if I could give less than 1 star I would

Absolutely terrible, multiple electrical issues since installed. The customer service reps have outright lied changing what they claim countdown timers are. I received a lockout for "missing a sample" when I called back to dispute it, the second man stated two different times stamps than the first man...the second being longer than 5mins so the lockout was "valid" The first guy told me the gap or requesting & my providing was only 2mins and insisted the countdown timer was always two mins, when in fact it has always been 5mins for the whole year I've had the device.

DO NOT EVER USE INTOXALOCK!! they will over charge for everything, you can never get any questions answered because all the people that take the calls are out of the country and they either lie to get off the phone or you can’t understand a word they say! They’ve charged my cards double what I owed multiple times, save yourself the trouble and go anywhere else!

Terrible company. All they want is money and don’t even care about helping someone or giving you a break. You would think they would help out if you’re having trouble but the pretty much tell you you are sh*t out of luck ! Don’t use this device

What didn’t go wrong! They claim there is no such thing as a false “failed” but most definitely is! So let’s just say the machine is messed up, they don’t want to replace it. Says calibration due on the 2nd drive to get it done now all of a sudden it says the 25th ok cool. Well it’s the 10th and it says 6 days until calibration due.. now my math isn’t the greatest but I’m pretty sure that isn’t the 25th. Call to speak with someone LETS NOT EVEN GO THERE BC THATS AWFUL CANT UNDERSTAND THEM THEN THEY GET IRRITATED WITH YOU, THEN it says press pound, so you do “you did not make a selection you will now be disconnected” and it hangs up after it took you ten minutes to try to get to a representative! It’s been nothing but absolute troubles from the start!

Do not ever use this company, there customer service doesn't hardly speak English, it takes forever to get ahold of anyone. I've waited as long as 1 hour before someone answers the phone. Apon sign up they ask if you want roadside assistance, I told them no, on a recorded line, i also called back 10/18/21 and had them remove it and noted it in my acc again. I had called multiple times after this to repeat the same thing, remove the charge. I am now at the end of my lease and am requesting my fees back i did not approve. They are trying to deny me these funds even tho there associate openly admitted it was noted back then and that there will be no issue getting that refunded as there's evidence and proof of the cancelation. Get on the phone with a manager about it her names zaida, to tell me she has no authority to add a credit and that I will not be getting a credit back at all for there mess up. She then proceeds to tell me that they can give false information and not be held accountable. What an absolute joke of a company. She doesn't explain this in a calm manner either, she's yelling at me during our phone call like I did something wrong when it was her company that didn't do there job. They are over priced compared to competitors and extremely rude. I wish I had done my research before installing, but I needed my license back asap so I didn't lose my job. Please don't make the same mistake I did. FIND SOMEONE ELSE, ANYONE ELSE.

The area where we live has a 'certified' installed who did a crappy job. We took it to another place for reinstallation and they were awesome! We asked intoxalock for a reimbursement since the first guy was one of their 'certified' installers and they would not reimburse us. This is all such a scam. BTW, having to blow into one of these while driving 65 miles an hr down the highway, is worse than texting and driving.

I have had countless misinformation from agents, the device is horrible in harsh weather conditions which I can't help due to my state. The software is janky, the update processes have me calling support every time. I have called support so many times for so much stupid stuff, it's ridiculous. I am a customer that has paid up front a year in advance and has been compliant 100% of the time. This is asinine and I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. I've had to replace devices.. I mean the list goes on. Please for the love of God, find someone else to go with!

this company is the worst,they sent me 3 faulty devices,so got numerous lockouts,as it wouldn't take my sample no matter how hard I blew,since my first installation on Sept I've been charged$1582.20 for invalid lockouts and installation for 3 faulty refurbished units,they said they would only reimburse $682 so I'm 900.00,I already wrote a very lengthy review but for some reason the site said that there was a problem going through but no option to fix it

This company is an absolute waste of money time and breath! I am constantly getting violations and charges and when I call to complain and try and get these fraudulent barges removed they are snotty and rude and just repeat themselves over and over!

I’ve recently had this put into my car and had all kinds of situations. I wrote a review that I was very pleased. But since then, I finally got a call back from Blanca one of their reps who was Incredibly empathetic when it came to the situation. She explained to me a lot and had to go about resolving my situation thoroughly, and then apologized for what I had gone through with the other representatives. Honestly, it was nice to have someone that Took the time out to talk to you and understand what was going on. She Was a pleasure to talk to, and in the end, she rebated me two months Of payment for all the trouble that I had with Device. It’s hard enough living with this device. Every time you wanna go to the store never mind all the other hoops you have to jump through and live life. So if I can give any advice, ask for Blanca, if you would like to resolve any of your situations. She empathetic and thorough. I give her a five star review. As for this company three stars. The device itself is hard to breathe through just to get your car started. I have asthma and the hoops I have to jump through just to get the calibration resolved. It’s just crazy but again she explained to me that’s the laws That the state will only allow you have to go to court to get it Recalibrated. It’s not the company‘s fault. But the device itself is just horrible.

Do not use them go through someone else!! This is hands-down, the worst company I’ve ever had to deal with! Coming up with false lockouts to charge you money! Making you pay before you can even speak to customer service! Then when you finally get to talk to customer service, can’t even understand them! They’re a greedy company praying off of people who are trying to get their life back on track! Do not use them go through someone else!!

Extra charges and refusal to uninstall the device when my time was up. They stated they could not schedule a final calibration and removal unless I had a letter from the state approving the removal. The state I am in does not issue this type of letter. I was forced to remove the device myself and my final months of service were not reported to the state by Intoxalock so I have to have a new device installed even though my time was completed and I was charged for the time.
