“excellent. well planned, Best seats at the opera in Verona. very good choice of hotels. will use again. FYI We arranged to stay at Villa Le Maschere which is a 16th century villa, now a 5star Spa hotel near Florence. It really is very good indeed for relaxing after a strenuous tour”

“We had a great trip to Verona and Lake Garda and thank you for organising everything so well. The transfers were all punctual and pleasant, and the opera was a great experience. Two comments: (1) The tickets given to us for the opera were consecutive numbers, but on opposite sides of the central aisle (even numbers on one side, odd on the other, admittedly a strange system!) Fortunately, with the assistance of an usher who just groaned with familiarity with the problem when we asked for help, we found a German couple on the other side of the aisle who had the same problem, so we sorted it out between us. (2) our room in the Hotel Giulietta & Romeo was very small, and quite tight for two people; I don't know how it compares with other hotels you use, but if we went back I would certainly look for something a little more comfortable. The staff in both hotels in which we stayed were friendly and helpful. So thank you overall for a wonderful short break!”

I'm not quite sure what happened in regards to the opera tickets, so my apologies for this as I will look into it. I'm so pleased to hear you were able to resolve this with the German couple. I will also look into a higher room category at Hotel Giulietta & Romeo in future as this should mean a larger area. “Our trip to see Aida was most enjoyable. Jet2 is a very efficient airline and our flights both ways were on time. Our car at Verona was a little late but not too late to cause concern. The Hotel Accademia was first class. We were lucky to have a double room that had a door out onto the central terrace which we used to sit in the sun and read. The breakfast buffet was first class and the staff very helpful. The only downside was that our superior double room had twin beds while we would have preferred a double. I am not sure f we were able to select this but the booking form did not give a description of the bed arrangement. We were unfortunate that the end of our night at the opera was rained off. Our gold seats were ideal as they were at the front of the second tier which meant we had lots of legroom. Our only suggestion was that the hotel could have monitored the weather forecast and advised us of the possibility of rain and suggested we should have taken an umbrella or rainwear. As many people stayed at the hotel while attending the opera this would have pre-warned us of the possibility of rain. There was no sign of rain at the beginning of the evening with blue sky and sun but the storm came in very quickly. We gathered that this happens quite often so we were surprised that the hotel did not warn us of this possibility and you might want to suggest to the hotel that they issue warnings about possible rain. Apart from this we loved the hotel and the opera seating and the transfer from airport to hotel and would definitely recommend your company to our friends.”

“Organisation great, hotel fine and with very helpful staff. A good position for exploring in a friendly city. Transfers on time although a-mix up with names on the return. Arena seats gave a first class view of proceedings, the arena setting was very impressive. Thunderstorms meant the last act was cancelled but a risk you take with any open air event. We plan to return.”

“We have just retuned from our short opera break in Verona. It was superb!! The care and attention to detail from Weekend A La Carte was second to none. We were given all the information we needed prior to leaving, which included our itinerary and plentiful information about what to do and see in Verona. Our hotel was central and altogether super, with comfortable rooms and friendly staff. The seats for the opera were the best in the amphitheatre and the opera was wonderful. Taxis to and from the hotel and airport were timely and both our inward and outward flights were booked for suitable departure times. We had an unforgetable few days and would like to thank all the team members who had put so much thought and effort into making this a luxurious and memroable holiday.”

“We had a perfect holiday. The Athena hotel is stylish and welcoming. The views from our rooms on the eight floor were stunning. The hotel food was excellent. The seats for the Palio arranged by Shirley were front row Grandstand Mossa; exhilarating. Paulo guided us around Siena at some pace; we saw so much more than just meandering. Thank you.”

“We went the Opera in Verona and then to the Palio in Siena, everything went perfectly, all the transfers were on time, the Hotels were in easy reach of the centre and we had great seats at the Opera and at the Palio a really enjoyable experience.”

“We have just returned from an absolutely brilliant holiday in Verona. Italian Short Breaks organised the whole holiday for us and everything was perfect! We stayed at the Hotel Academia which was lovely - the staff were so friendly and helpful and the hotel supply cold drinks in the lounge during the day which were extremely welcome as the temperature outside had reached 38 degrees!! We went to see Aida at the Arena which was truly an unforgettable experience and a magnificent spectacle! All the transfers were exactly on time and the luxurious air-conditioned cars were also greatly appreciated! Everything went absolutely according to plan and I would highly recommend this company to anyone who would like a short luxury break.”

“This Opera Break in Milan was thoroughly enjoyable Everything went according to plan Booking the break over the phone was easy and the staff were really helpful The fight with British Airways was at sensible times from Heathrow and was relatively quick and painless We had a car to transfer us to and from Milan Linate airport and this was quick and comfortable The hotel Brunelleschi was lovely. Staff provided good customer service and were really helpful The hotel was central and my wife and i really loved Milan The only slight hiccup when we went to the last supper they wanted us to leave some form of identification We did not have any apart from a credit card which i reluctantly left and collected at the end of the visit I think customers should be made aware of this in the travel pack”

“A really splendid trip, and all the promised events worked out perfectly - the chauffeur driven car to/from the airport, good and centrally located hotel, and tickets for La Scala (La Traviata) starring P Domingo - bravo! Only quibble is that the final details were only sent to us less than a week before departure and after requesting them.”

“Excellent. Hotel really well placed, good breakfast, comfortable room and useful rooftop pool for relaxing. Front desk variable. Lunch in hotel restaurant prior to departure very good and unhurried. La Scala excellent; thank you. We could have arrived 30 mins ahead though. Last Supper excellent as was the church and cloister. Voucher needed to be exchanged (not just presented) at a building a further 20 m to the left of the one your pic identified. Atmosfera Tram Dinner superb evening - adopted by an Italian group of 8 who sang away- lovely final night. Transfers worked well. Flights victims of wind and other incidents. We also went to Duomo (too many tourists!) St Ambrogio church - a gem as well as free and empty - and an exhibition of Da Vinci's models which was superior to the equivalent in Amboise. Thank you; we will recommend you to others and hope that the Aurora Nights trip (which looks interesting) lives up to your standard. Booking service impeccable.”
