“Today I shopped for Haggar pants at the J.C. Penney in Wellington, Fl., after reading the sign that said “$29.99 Haggar iron-free classic pants regular $70.” I found three pairs on the hanger in front of the sign. When I took them to the register they were still $70. That is known as bait and switch. The pants on the shelf, of which there are few are on sale. That is the bait. All other classic pants are full price. That is the switch. The store would not honor the price because the classic Haggar pants I took to the register, the cashier claimed, came from the rod. I will never shop in this store again. I suggest when you shop at the Wellington Mall store you pay close attention to how they cheat the customers because it is how you will be cheated. Under the law, they should honor their sale sign. This store would rather cheat you than follow the law.”
“I ordered some clothing from JC Penney on June 20. Then, on June 24 I received an email that said that some of the items on that order had been shipped. When I look at the tracking number for those items, it STILL says it is awaiting carrier pick up. I don't think that package has been waiting in their shipping department for 12 days waiting to be picked up!!! I called and spoke to a customer service person and told her that Pennies had deducted the money from my checking account, and that I have not yet received the items, and could I please have a refund. She told me that I had to wait until July 8, and then I could have my refund. So, they have had my money for almost two weeks, and I have nothing as of yet.”
“I've been ordering on line for 6 yrs at my current address. I ordered two dresses that arrived w/o issues for an event, then I ordered the shoes to go with the dress. The shoes were delivered to an old address. JC Penny's tells me I cannot get a refund for misdelievered merchandise and I would need to go to the old address to retrieve my shoes bcuz it's not their problem. I am out of my money and the shoes. Will never order or buy from JCP again.”

“Ordered from JCPennney 2 weeks ago. Received 3 of the items & remainder were supposed to be here tomorrow. Arrival date changed to Friday instead of Wednesday. Just checked tracking & now they won’t be here until Saturday. They keep moving the date out with no option for canceling the order. I WILL NEVER SHOP OR ORDER FROM JCPENNEY AGAIN!!!”
“If there was a way to rate you less than a 1, I would. I placed an order of 9 items. Only one arrived; however, my bill arrived charging me for all the items I did not receive. Customer support and catalog were of no help and kept threatening me that I was being recorded. Too funny as I used no profane language, etc. All I wanted to do was cancel the order and end my shopping with JCP. They insisted I wait a ridiculous amount of time and then we could review it at that time. My husband worked at JCP for 44 years and me for 19 years., both with the highest rating at review time. I don't know who is training your associates at this time, but customer service is no longer a priority. This is definitely my last dealing with the company. I guess that losing customers no longer matters. The stock when I worked there was $80 a share. Today you are at $0.1819. Telling?”
“Yesterday, when I went to return an item that didn't fit, one of the employees made me very uncomfortable by saying she would close the doors to keep me out because I always come to return things. I told her, "How can you say that? I haven't been here this week, last week, or the week before!"
It was so embarrassing and upsetting that I still feel bad about it. The employee was a large woman of African descent. The incident occurred on June 28, 2024, around 5 pm. She was working on the second floor with a young Hispanic man who handled my return of a pair of slacks.”

“Online ordering is completely unreliable. If you are able to place an order to ship to tye local store, your order may state "in transit" but then is not delivered to the store. This happened to me in the past for a pair of shoes I needed for a wedding. After 10 days and no delivery, I called the CS number and was told my order was cancelled by the warehouse! However the order still showed as " in transit to store". I recently placed an online order which was supposed to be delivered 2 days ago, still " in transit to store" . I have a feeling I will not get this order either.. Unfortunately these items are not in stock at the store but only on line. No wonder Penney's is in trouble!”

Spoke to Synchro my for jC Penny & said all charges were cancelleded & not to worry I am still getting billed from you.
I returned a purchase & was double charged & getting bills for late charges. This is annoying & never had a situation like this with any other store. I am getting discussed with this situation. Someone speak to the bank & see that I have no outstanding chargers. I also cancelled by JC Penny credit card because of this situation. Will never shop in your store”

“JC Penny's salon in Mankato one of the senior stylist name Nhath Leng is by far the best stylist in the salon. She is friendly , entertaining, shows interest in her clients is always trying to make sure that the customer receives actually what they came in for. I appreciate the care and the time that Nhath give her customers when they come in. She is the only one I will go to for an appointment.”

“I recently rediscovered Penney's. I have found a few great items and thought I might be making more future purchases but my in store experience was off putting. I received a coupon via email after my first online order. I attempted to use it for an in store purchase but the item I was buying was excluded from the coupon. Sometimes that happens but as I waited in line about 7-8 people ahead of me in the queue also attempted to use coupons. Every one of them was denied for a variety of reasons. It felt like a scam to get people in the store with worthless coupons. The employee was very rude to the customers and kept complaining that it was only 15, 10, 5 minutes before closing. Not our problem! If he had been more efficient we would have been out of there quicker and since we were within the hours of operation he should not be complaining about having to do his job for the full time that he is being paid to do so. With so many physical stores closing and the lack of customers in the store, one would think they would do more to encourage shoppers business instead of driving them away. Why do the employees not see the correlation between servicing customers and the continuance of their job/salary? It looks like that employee will soon have even more free time on his hands.”
