“AVOID THE No Support Company. On 9/23/2023 ordered items online with plans to secure the items via curbside upon arrival. Upon arrival, I checked in as stated via the "order ready" email. After waiting for lengthy time, I decided to call the store for a status. After being unsuccessful to getting anyone to answer their business phone, I went inside for further assistance. Once inside there were no one available. Made a call to JCPenney customer service at (800) 322-1189. At this number a gentleman named "Emmanuel" answered, asked me my name; only to not provide support to a customer calling the "customer service" line of this company. Emmanuel directed me to callback in order to speak to someone else other than him. As a result, he placed the customer (me) on hold without notice and decided to not return. In addition, Emmanuel (JCPenney) customer service rep said there was nothing that could be done about my reasoning for the call - get some form of support due to the local store not answering calls and no one available. Emmanuel's handle of the customers issue was acceptable and is a huge deal breaker for any additional purchases.”
“The website is just AWFUL! I try over and over to see if it is any better so I can order online, but it’s unusable. So terribly slow and crashes so often.

“Went to JC penny Bakersfield Ca store #2209 the cashier lady let someone crowed in front of me because they knew her took her sweet time ringing her up and too busy talking to them about her son wedding while the line grew longer and their were no other cashier person to assist the customers.”
“Jc penny's cancel one of my orders and told me that it would take 7 to 10 days before they could return my payment. Hell it only took them 3 seconds to process my payment. Then I received an email saying that my order that was supposed to be delivered on the 8th is now arriving on the 11th and the 14th. I will never order from them again. Online shopping is to much of a hassle.”
“I had the opportunity to shop at Penny's Monday, 7 August . The Penny's is located in the Provo Towne Centre in Provo , Utah .
My wife and I were shopping for some nice clothes for her . After we finished selecting our choices , we went to the cashier checkout . Upon totaling up our purchase , I presented my card to the clerk . The card would not accept the full amount of the payment . The clerk Eric , calmly retotaled the items again . Same problem . I told Eric that the card should be OK. He politely said why not use another card for the balance . We tried that and the computer rejected the card and the computer locked up . Eric smiled a said he would try a different cash register . That computer locked up also . Perplexed, we left the store without our selections . We stopped by the bank to check out the card . I had used the wrong card . We went back to Penny's to try to retry with a correct card . Eric was on his break so another clerk listened to my story and helped me recover the clothes from the return rack after she called Eric in the break room . Eric came back before his break was over and helped us complete our purchase . Eric apologized for our difficulties even though they were my fault . Eric turned a negative situation into a positive experience . Penny's needs to hire more Eric's.”
“We have bought sofas from JCPenney before and it was a great price and quality. Had them for 15 year +. This time we bought an Ashley sleeper sofa & oversize chair and ottman from JCPenney. I am so disappointed with the quality and customer service! The arm creaked and neither company would exchange it and both said it was the other’s responsibility. The sleeper bed is thin and uncomfortable, the cushions are sunk in after only a couple months use. Waste of money!!!!”
“Rudest customer service agent I've ever interacted with. I signed up for an account as there was a rewards promotion going on. I did not receive the e-mail, and neither did a lot of people. When I called to ask about the promotion, the agent replied curtly in an impatient manner. She kept telling me there was no name associated with the account despite me being able to sign in with the reward account and check the name. She also said the promotion was for new members, which was not true as the promotion said previous members could opt into the reward.
I feel like this was a blatant attempt to harvest information. I would not recommend shopping at JCPenny. My mom used to do so, as did I in store, but customer service here is the worst.”
“Don’t buy anything online Odeon JCPenney, they don’t send full order. If you call customer service instead of addressing issue they disconnect your call.”
“Ordered online on 7/4/2023 their Website kept showing “Ship to Home or Store Get it Monday, Jul 10th”. I placed my order and less than an hour later I received an email showing “Pickup Jul 19, 2023”. I went back to their site and it was still showing “Home or Store” with a 7/10 date so I started their support chat. The chat person kept saying that they apologized but 7/10 was only for home delivery. I said asked them if that was bait and switch fraudulent advertising. They ended the chat. If they don’t have it by 7/10 like they said I will file a complaint with my State District Attorney office which handles false and misleading businesses. Bait and Switch and false advertising is against the law in all 50 states.”
“I recently went to have photos made of my grandchildren and the photographer there was really great! She knew how to handle the children and exactly the poses that we were asking for she was prepared to answer our questions and I think we bought all the pictures that we were offered they were so good! So I thank you I don't know who the photographers is or what her name was but she was very gentle and kind and sweet and did the best pictures we have ever made there!”

“Ordered online. Was not able to pickup do to family getting Covid. Recvd email 03/20/23 about being returned and receiving a refund. Today 04/12/23. After 2 phone calls to customer service still no refund. They are quick to take money but extremely slow to refund back. No more online shopping through them for me.”
“Nancy, associate at the JCP store in the Florida Mall was AMAZING!! She was very kind, helpful and considerate of my needs. She went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with my purchases. She helped me with the sizes I needed, and my shopping experience was great. I forgot to mention her name in the JCP online survey, so that’s why I’m writing this review. I was not able to go back online to do the survey again. Thank you Nancy you’re the best!

“I ordered 2 pair glasses that were awful. The sales person told me sorry read the fine print. No refund was possible and offered to up the strength of my glasses. This offering was not what I needed. The glasses were not made well. They made me dizzy. I’ll never use them again. Now I have to find out how to get some sort of compensation. I wasted too much money.”
“I bought a Tee shirt and a hoodie. Received a Tee shirt and a random pair of pants that was a size not even close to mine. No idea how a hoodie was mistaken for a pair of pants. The return shipping and amount of BS isn't worth the $25 I paid for the hoodie so I guess I'm stuck with a pair of pants I didn't want.”
