“Although it were previously my belief, that in this day and age, delivery companies took pictures of packages that were REALLY delivered to MY “front door step,” as proclaimed. . . I proceeded on with what I knew was going to be, “one heck of a wild goose chase,” proudly sponsored and provided by none other than JCPenney . . . yes, I proceeded on, for it were REAL and TRUE my bank account was debited for the contents contained in this “Easter egg” of a package, that the delivery company must’ve just “hidden away” in my bushes, or perhaps, even better yet, secretly “tucked away” at one of my neighbors’ houses . . . Perhaps the delivery company hide it to well though, because none of my neighbors have found it either!!! Luckily for me though, the fun wasn’t over, for JCPenney also has a “maze of a way,” of getting a hold of a REAL-LIFE CSR (by chat OR phone) as there is not even an option for packages that REALLY were not even delivered OR any option to speak to a live agent!!! This did not make me fret though, for I knew (and know) my troubles . . . I mean . . . my “fun time,” is/are far from over, because, although I did eventually get through to a human CSR, he just gave me a SCRIPTED response of how sometimes the delivery company just “marks it” as already delivered, although it REALLY has not been yet, and that if it hasn’t REALLY been delivered in a few days to call back then (although JCPenney’s site informs to call the delivery company if not really delivered in 2 hours after reporting it as delivered)!?! Why would a delivery company mark something delivered, if it REALLY has not been??? Why would JCPenney actually post this absurd BS about it reporting as “delivered,” although it hasn’t been, on their site as an explanation (also proving this must be a frequent occurrence that they are aware of)??? I personally do not have the time or patience to deal with what is accurately defined as a GAME, just in order to get what I paid to be delivered to the address provided!!! Not to mention, now JCPenney is telling me to contact the delivery company, and the delivery company is telling me to contact JCPenney!!! Ridiculously UNPROFESSIONAL and INSANE!!! I personally will NEVER shop with JCPenney again, and I plan to inform anyone and everyone of such unprofessional tactics JCPenney employs and engages in!!! I have never ran into such absurdities in ANY big retail store before EVER!!!”
“Definitely suggest for people to NOT order anything online from JCPenny. I placed a order for a Minnie Mouse costume on the 18th of October with the confirmation stating it would be delivered on the 21st. Thank goodness I screenshot my confirmation order with number, because I never received a confirmation email. I keep checking online and it keeps saying I have no order so I called and of course all it says is order is in process. So I call to talk to a customer service representative and they assure me to wait 24hrs and still nothing. They also stated I have to wait 12 days before I can even cancel order and get a refund. Now I ordered assuming JCPenny has been around for a long time, BIG mistake. I’m currently not working and that $46 I spent was all I had to purchase my daughter a costume and sad to say that it sounds like it won’t come and I have to wait to get my money back if they even do so. This Online store is a BIG scam!!!”

“I like JCPenny as a store. I have been shopping at JCP for decades. My goal was to support the struggling company by continuing to buy from them. Unfortunately, the delivery service JCP uses, called LaserShip, has issues following instructions. They left my package in a public lobby of a high rise building, with no office or reception facilities. Who would do that? JCP refunded my money and placed a new order for me, however, I now have to wait more days for my package to arrive.
My advice, if JCP wants to compete with AMAZON, they need to find a better delivery service.”

He was so helpful in what we were looking for and didn't mind me trying on multiple rings til I found the one that I love. I highly recommend this location and especially Zac he goes above and beyond to help customers.”
“Apparently they use a lousy shipping company. My package was not delivered but email said it was delivered by LaserShip. Shipping company was no help - just emailed that they delivered it and call the vendor. J C Penney rep was polite but the connection was poor so I'm not sure if he is giving me a refund. Gave 1 extra star because the rep was polite and tried to help through poor connection.

“No wonder JCPenny received 1.5 stars out of 5. I ordered a shirt online on a Thursday confirming I will receive it on the following Tuesday. I know they cannot guarantee delivery dates; however, the order shows I ordered it 2 days after my order date and now the delivery date is 3 days after the date they stated. I call and ask to cancel order since it was not delivered yet but Luis tells me they can only cancel after 30 mins after your order. How can I cancel my order when it took JCPenny 2 days to show my order? I will never shop with them again and advise you all how unreliable and they are, how irresponsible they are and how they don’t seem to care about their customers time.”
“I have no pictures to upload because I never received my online order. I called on this issue at least 7 times! I had to request a refund twice before it was entered, then I only got a partial refund for some random amount. It wasn't even the price of the merchandise less shipping, they just made an amount up. They tell you 1-3 business days before you see it, then after 3 business days when the refund isn't there, I'd call back and the second associate tells you, "I'm not sure why you were told that, it takes 5-7 business days!" I placed the order Aug 12th and still don't have the refund! I think JC Penny intentionally shorted me in hopes that I'd over look it. When I called today the supervisor said, "Your ticket was worked yesterday, you should see your refund in 5-7 business days". My next step is to dispute it with the bank. Customer Service has been reduced to placating customers to get them off the phone, lies, then apologies! I have spent so much time on this issue and when I asked for a store credit for my troubles since she was so sorry, and she said "No".
So long JC Penny! With Customer Service like this, you will soon be in the long list of retailers who have gone under.”
“I ordered a dining set from JCP. I called to place the order because it was for a dining set and I wanted to make sure the delivery included assembly. I was told that assembly was included. The dining set was delivered in boxes. The delivery company told me that they do not do assembly. I called JCP and they said assembly was included and they would open a case. Someone would call me within 24 hours to arrange assembly. I have called many times since then. Each time they tell me a case has been opened and someone will contact me within 24 hours. Well it has been 16 days almost 400 hours and I still have not received 1 call from JCP!!!!”

“I wish I could give a -5 star rating. I purchased a pair of Ashely bar stool from JCP. I realized later that the chairs were lacking wooden support on the seat. They are super uncomfortable and make my thigh hurt. They sent me defective items. I called to JCP customer service and they denied to adjust or return of the order simply because it's past 90 days. The customer service manger was rude and simply denied to make any correction on the mistake they committed. Can a seller like JCP sell any garbage to customers and rob customers' hard-earned money? Can a seller like JCP back off from their responsibility of consumer satisfaction? I am not surprised JCP is doing super poorly and vanishing from the market. “I made a purchase online and waited for the delivery. Sadly, when the package arrived it was the incorrect merchandise! I decided to call Customer Servive believing my issue could be resolved but even after waiting on hold for a supervisor I was told I needed to physically return the incorrect merchandise in order to receive my credit. “JC penny has always been my favorite place to shop for clothes, but the cashiers here in Layton malls either they don’t know what they are doing or just plain lazy. A return or an exchange should be a fairly easy process but not here, specially a cashier name kristina, it took her about 15 minutes to process my exchange and the whole time treats and looks at as if I was trying to scam the store. It’s never a pleasant time to ever use the rewards earned, cause it’s just a lot of hassle for them to do. The manager on duty seems more concerned about someone stealing as you go to the dressing room and tries the clothes, just watches like a hawk, this store is in shambles, no wonder they are looking for a new GM. “I Recently spent $96.64 on an order to JCPenney . After 3 items did not fit, I had to return them . My store locally was closed . In order to return these items I had to spend $8 per item to return these items all in the same bag they were shipped to me in. In the end I only got a credit for $40.48 out of $96 64 if you order five items and you send five items back in the same bag that they sent it to you in you still have to pay $8 per item to return these . How is this fair? This is highway robbery I will never shop JCPenney again in my life.”
“I ordered a pair of joggers for my dad. He didn't receive his joggers, but instead received a pair of children's underwear. I called to notify the company. I didn't want a refund. I just wanted the pants. I was told I would have to go to a jc penneys to get a refund, so they could then charge me again and send the pants. Why should I have to do any of that when it was the company that messed up? What is so hard about sending the thing I ordered in the first place? My dad gets a pair of child's underwear Instead of the joggers I ordered him and I have to do the work to rectify the situation? “I ordered $87 worth of products from JCPenney online, put my new address in to be shipped there. When I paid with PayPal my old address must have kicked in. I did not know this until I received a confirmation email from JCPenney stating my order confirmation. I immediately called JCPenney‘s to try to have this issue resolved and give them my new address. They told me they were unable to change the address and could not cancel the order even though the items we’re not packed and the order had not been processed yet. They told me I needed to wait for an email saying items were shipped and then I could notify UPS to have the address changed. I never got an email saying the items were shipped so my merchandise went to the wrong address. I then got an email stating that they were delivered that’s how I know they went to the wrong address. There should never be such a big issue about an address change this is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable and I will never shop at JC pennies ever again!”
“I bought a Liz Claiborne top. Fit great. I washed it as directed and didn't even dry it in the dryer just hung it to dry and it shrank 3 sizes. Was told I can not get my money back. Done shopping there. Can't ever use my rewards either The site never works.”
