I wish I had read the reviews before ordering. I would have saved myself utter shame and embarrassment. My sick gran was in hospital and called and asked if I could send her some KFC (cannot visit due to COVID regulations). No problem right? WRONG! Let me say that I used to use Just-Eat regularly for many years without much issue, but I found the Uber-Eats app approach better and so stopped using it for the last 3-4 years. I should have read the most recent reviews, rather than trusting past experience. I went online and ordered a meal for her, addressed it to the hospital and ward and gave her name and relevant information in the notes on the order. 19:36 - Order arranged, due to arrive 20:07. 20:07 - Site says the driver is collecting the order. 20:30 - Says driver is still collecting the order. 20:50 - Still says driver is collecting the order. Something must be wrong. 20:51 - Try 3 times to get through to support (only web-chat available at this time) 20:52 - After the 2nd operator who wrote he just needs to read the notes, didn't respond for more than 5 minutes. 20:55- Get through to Jazelle, explain the issue and that my sick Grandmother has now gone to bed hungry and that I would like a refund. The order was more than an hour late and still hadn't arrived. The operator was combative at first, then relented to offering me a £5 discount and to wait 20 minutes more. It's like people are too dumb to understand. SHE HAS GONE TO BED. She will not be eating now! She insisted and I remarked that nobody will be able to receive the order. She then advised that they can only refund 50% because the restaurant had already prepared the food, but there weren't enough drivers to deliver it!? For real? Why let me order then? Or have me hanging around whilst my grandmother grows hungrier. I quoted the Sale of Goods Act 1979 that has now become encompassed into The Consumer Rights Act 2015 and that I was that annoyed that I would seek legal action on principle. Still to no avail, until I mentioned I will charge-back. She left the conversation. 23:29 - I get a call from Maria who says the driver has arrived at the restaurant which is now closed! Are these people really serious? They must be kidding? Can they be so incompetent? Maria was a little better at customer service than her previous colleagues. But did offer me a full refund and £5 compensation. Too little too late. Full refund was the decent and proper thing to do in the first place. Now I've spent several hours annoyed and feeling I've let my grandmother down. You can't buy trust. I don't trust them and I'm not willing to ever again. Once I get me refund, I'll deactivate my account and vow never to buy from these crooks again. Do yourself a favour, buy from someone else. Not Just-Eat. You have been warned. Placed order 24hrs earlier Bloody awful driver said he delivered my order & he hadn't. He lied. All Just eat could do is give refund. Not good enough I have no food & refund will not be with me for 3-7 working days. Didn't get any offer or apology. It's a Disgrace & Shocking Service will not use Just Eat again.

Shocking company. They just throw the food away and claim delivery. Then you cannot speak to anyone as the phone lines/chat system puts you on hold forever. Net result, you pay your money but don't get any delivery!

spent £40 on a meal, only the desserts turned up, after weeks on emails and promises that they would investigate, they decided that as there was evidence that the food left the restaurant they would not refund. So basically after it leaves the restaurant they don't care what happens to your food. Disgusting.

Just Eat have the most disgusting customer service I have ever experienced and i wouldnt use them agin if you paid me. Too bad i am forced to leave 1 star, i would left 0 if i had the option. I had a terrible chinese meal which i contacted the restaurant about; they informed me that if i wanted my money back i would need to contact Just Eat themselves (who apparently hold the money for 2 weeks), which i did so by phone. I was then sent an email with a complaint number and told to reply with a detailed expalnation and some photos, which i did. I should probably mention that by this point i had given up enough of my time to deal with the matter, however this would prove fruitless as after many ridiculous and illogical email exchanges Just Eat refuused to offer anything in the way of actuall help at all. They manage to write long, fluffy nonsensical emails without actually saying or doing anything. The photos clearly supported the written claim (eg a special fried rice with prawns, chicken and beef that was clearly plain boiled rice with some peas). Just Eat were also dumb enough to reply that 'the photos don't support your claim (regarding flovour)'.... Obvioulsy photos cant really tell you much about flavour. Clearly getting a job as one of Just Eat's 'Investigations Team' doesn't require much in the way of logic, rationality, accountability, ability to use eyes, general abundance of brain cells.... I seriously wonder if just eat would have acepted any responsibility if the meal caused food poinsoning to someone, or if they would have just refered to their 'T's and C's'. It's quite disgustng for a company to take so much and offer so little. I have also noticed that many rstaurants seem to come and go from the JustEat site, perhaps they also offer bad service to the restaurant industry. They certaily do to their customers.

Just eat administration does not care about their service or standard, as long as JUST EAT COMPANY got their commission and PAID JUST EAT MORE TO BE ON TOP OF THE LIST, JUST EAT ADMINISTRATION will be very happy to help. The company is not running to help the industry. Hope one day someone can get the nasty truth of this operation out.

Waited nearly 3 hours for our food from Peking Chef Darlington. Food arrived cold and soggy. Could not contact restaurant. Constantly engaged. It was inedible to say the least a waste of 27.00. I contacted just eat and they did kindly refund 20.00. But the restaurant should be contacted by just eat as it gives them a bad name . I have left a review on Peking Chef site. But thankyou Just eat

I never received my delivery, and after speaking with their customer service department they did not want to provide refund until I have spoken to a supervisor. This shows the lack of empathy for the customer and absolute disgrace for the type of process they have, when they can clearly see the driver have made no attempt to deliver the food. Disgraceful!!!

Terrible! Our food all arrived at different times, and we waited over three hours from our order to get our food. When it arrived it was cold. Would have been easier to have ordered straight from the restaurants ourselves.

I chose this restaurant for a family takeaway because it came at the top of the selection of local Chinese takeaways on JustEat, due to their 'reviews'. Huge mistake!! I should have taken time to read through the reviews elsewhere on other websites and would have seen just how awful the restaurant is. Food arrived half an hour after the expected delivery time; it was stone cold; the portions for the main meals came in smaller-than-normal sized containers and were barely half full; tasteless and a complete waste of £50. A lot of it went straight in the bin. The restaurant don't answer their phone. JustEat washed their hands of the problem, with various excuses, finally saying the restaurant wouldn't approve a refund so hard luck. They then terminated the online chat abruptly. Really not sure of the benefit to the customer of using JustEat - pretty pointless as they deny responsibility for poor service. I will make sure that I don't use JustEat again. My one-star ratings apply to both the restaurant and JustEat. Not many people can afford to waste £50 at the moment, but there will be many businesses seeking to profit from the current social restrictions and limitations and this is certainly an example of just that.

I ordered a meal that never arrived. Used the help e chat. Also, called customer service and they said they’d email me to contact the investigation team. Same as the meal that never arrived and neither did the email. I suggest other suppliers like Deliveroo and Ubereats.

I personally have never written a review in my entire life about any web site / app. I have taken the time to do this as it’s is the worst experience I have ever had. DO NOT even bother to place an order as they cancel them after about an hour every time. It’a just eat who cancel them as I have spoken to the takeaways who are also at the whits end with them. DO NOT USE THIS WEB SERVICE.

Use another app. Food expected to arrive 2 hours after order and couldn't get through the support team after a useless chat bot. No apology, no compensation no service! Whole experience has been pants!

I ordered food from Pizza Roma in Ruskington, Lincolnshire, via the Just Eat app. The food was ordered at 6:30pm and was to be delivered an hour later. After numerous phone calls the order still had not arrived and by 9:45pm, and the Restaturant stating the food was still not in the oven, I was forced to cancel the order. However, I had already been charged and despite both Pizza Roma and Just Eat promising a refund, two weeks later, I am still not refunded. I have reported both Pizza Roma and Just Eat to Trading Standards. What a scam. NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER use Just Eat. They'll rip you off.

*Copied from my review on Trust Pilot* Awful company to deal with. A takeaway we've dealt with fine for over a decade took 2.5 hours to deliver, cold when arrived, through just eat. But that's not the issue. The robotic, scripted dialogue that's used in the Just Eats 'Chat' to fob off angry customers is far more insulting than the meal itself. To try and explain a situation and receive the same pasted messages over and over from somebody/thing that doesn't understand is infuriating. They refuse to refund the full amount, only that from the restaurant, not their admin fee. So ultimately you get fobbed off, and they don't lose a penny. They're desperate to end the chat, and lied twice with claims that somebody from management will be calling us in 24 hours, just to get us to agree to end the conversation. I'll be back on tomorrow night though for sure.. It's a scam in my opinion

We have been waiting 3:55 mins - if the restaurant / just eat could not facilitate then they should not accept updates and give false updates. Apparently the driver has been waiting there now for 2 hours, all I can say is he must be quite a stocky lad and had a few pints to wash it down with... c u n t

WOULDNT BOTHER ! AWFUL COMPANY IT IS JUST A SCAM! after placing a order at 7pm, it had still not arrived by 9pm. So we rang the restaurant to cancel the order as we didn’t want it anymore and we wanted a refund . It then turned up 9.05 with the driver apologising ( delivery driver was lovely and don’t have a bad word to say about him) but we turned it away as it had been sat in his car for a hour. We rang the restaurant a second time to find out what was going on with the refund to be told they can’t do it and to contact just eat, which we did... and what a load of Sh*t!!! After speaking with a advisor he left me on hold for 30 minutes, made no notes on the account and didn’t ring the restaurant like he said he was going to... which is why he put me on hold in the first place. My husband rang of his phone as no one was coming back to the phone after 31 minutes for the same person to answer, give us a load of BS. After a further 20 minutes of them trying to put us on hold and faf about we were told a refund would be back in my account in 39 mins and email sent ... email now states it takes 5-7 days for a refund . Wouldn’t recommend was just a catastrophe from start to finish. If you do order pay cash!!

Delivery guy was sick! He had cold symptoms. Before he delivered our food he blown his nose into a napkin and then went to handle our food. Spoke to restaurant (Yellow River, NW9 7AA) and they just said if I want to be safe I should not order food. We refused food based on con-termination. Just Eat we’re unable to give me full refund and believed the restaurant rather than me- customer. This is the last order. Shame on restaurant and Just Eat for putting profit above people health at a time of national health emergency! Shame on you!
