Purchased a Gasless welder Would not feed the wire, so was returned for repair they said found no fault after it being away for two weeks but the same fault was present, There then reply was retun it again to which i replied return my money please No joy there So i then contacted Customer services. there atatude was very much to be desired so i continued to threaten them with Trading standards to which there reply was so what go ahead as if to say they do not care about customer relations, In other words we have your money. So i will never buy from them again or any time in future If everybody does this then where is there costomer service then.

I bought some sockets and a rachet. An hour or so later I went to return the ratchet as I had not been able to use it. I was flatly refused a refund despite the item being clearly unused and in original packaging. I was told I could exchange for something else or have a credit note that would expire in a year, so clearly they didn't have a problem with accepting the item back - they just wanted to hang on to my money. I'd never been to one of these stores before, and I'll never go again. Apaling customer service.

After trying to deal with the idiots that work at their parts dept I gave up and got the parts off Ebay. I do wonder how Machine Mart stay in business with such an appalling back up and customer service.

Items where supposed to be delivered by the 23rd December after several calls to the customer services still nothing by the 14 th January.Customer services are a complete waste of time, e mails are not answered. I would have thought a British based firm would have been better than this, in future I will deal with Chinese firms which appear to be far more reliable.

I have to use Machine Mart on a day to day basis through the company I work for, and whenever I see that an engineer wants to order something from there I immediately feel annoyed. There customer service (email and phone) is the worst I have EVER had to deal with. We are a loyal customer for them (I do not know why, I personally would've stopped using them a longgg time ago) and they literally do not care at all. We email them over a PO to order parts and they don't respond to emails EVER. Not an acknowledgment or anything, so I always ring them to make sure they have received it. It usually takes about 10 minutes of them looking for it before they find it and then they say 'yes it is being processed'. Not only do they all sound like they hate life and do NOT want to speak to you or help you at all on the phone, 100% I know the order is not being processed at all. It is meant to be next day delivery but we still haven't received something 2 weeks later. So obviously i just rang up to check my order, the guy spent 10 mins trying to find it and then once he found he said 'I can get this delivered tomorrow for you' in a very miserable mono tone voice ... so I said Ermm ok fine, where is it going to be delivered to? ... 'I don't know! Where it usually gets delivered to, whatever it says on you PO I don't know' ... I said ok bye - and hung up. He said it so rudely. I hate speaking to them, they all clearly have no customer service experience and hate life and people. If it was up to me I wouldn't use them but sadly our company does and SADLY I have to put up with these idiots. Next time I am going to ask to speak to a manager, but I have this feeling they're the type of company that don't care. I would give it 0 stars if I could.

No point looking at web site or catalog as when you arrive at store they don't stock it , only to order , but they do have a far more expensive one on the shelf. Tried to contact to advise of disappointment . But no one answers the phone.

Clarke IG1000 Inverter Generator - Really bad generator kept breaking down. Even thought very well maintained. Got a replacement that broke down as well. Then MACHINE MART said the second generators warranty was under the first generators. This was despite the fact the second generator was only four months old. They will not admit there is a fault with there generators despite me seeing five in for repair at the Edinburgh Store. The message is simple do not buy from MACHINE MART they sell faulty equipment.

I must have purchased the Bob Marley of framing guns, it just keeps jamming regardless of the nail brand used or the air pressure. I've contacted MM to no avail, totally not interested and just flaunt the trading laws and consumer protection laws with impunity. Once bitten, twice shy, I will never again buy second rate Chinese tat at an inflated price from Machine Mart.

I Purchased a Compressor just over a month ago and used it once. it then went faulty the second time I went too use it and did not build up any pressure. The motor was running but after 2 minutes bellowed with smoke. I took this back to the store for a refund or an exchange to be told it had to go away. So now i have no compressor to use and a few hundred pound lighter in my wallet. I tried to explain that I needed a compressor asap and was willing to pay any difference. I was told this could not happen and point blank told me to go away and they will contact me when an engineer has done his report. no joy in shop or with the main office looking how empty the store was hope it closes down and the company goes under. I have told all my staff never to purchase goods from there again so that is approximately 10 k of turn over loss for Machine Mart. Hope Mr Clarke reads his complaints

wanted to return a trolley jack which failed after only a few uses, took 5 weeks to "repair" and fault was still there upon collection. was told they would just send it off again, rubbish. To make things worse, I was in a queue of people who were all bringing items back. I am going to have to stop buying from this company. I am forever returning faulty goods. it ends up costing me more than paying for better branded , more expensive items. I VOW IN WRITING TODAY THAT I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM MACHINEMART AGAIN!!!

I have spent thousands here since it opened and had to return something recently which was not a nice experience! They offered me a credit of the full amount or 10% restocking fee - I opted for the credit and promptly tried to buy some work gear but they didn't have what I wanted (not my fault) so they said they would refund me less 10% I explained it wasn't my fault I couldn't use the credit, I was a good customer and all my staff are sent here and I really didn't like the restocking fee and asked for it to be waived. They explained that some people use their tools and bring them back once the job is done for a refund hence the restocking fee. In these circumstances I fully agree with their policy! however, I was returning a sack barrow unused and unwrapped therefore sought leniency or discretion. They refused pointing to the back of the receipt where there was a load of fine print to fine to see never mind read and also to the typed up paper they have on the front counter. I explained I wasn't happy and spoke to the manager to see if he could help. He just pointed out the same policy which I can't dispute...... I was told to complain to head office which I did! they emailed me a standard copy of their returns policy........ I am not disputing their return policy, just think it is ridiculous to fall out with a customer for less than a fiver! I will spend my thousands at screw fix and tool station in future and urge you to do the same as Machine Mart do not respect their customers and don't deserve us. If there was a minus star I would use it! A lost customer and a bad review - was it really worth it for under a fiver!

Left a generator for repair. Paid for the estimate and carriage there and then. After hearing nothing for 3 weeks, I contacted them for a progress report. Was told that they have it at the service place, and will get round to doing an estimate for repair soon. Then they'd contact me for approval of the cost (or not). Then I'd have to wait for it's repair and return.....how long would that take?....no idea. Do I want it back immediately? (un-repaired, of course because they haven't even looked at it yet after 3 weeks) - no of course not....I want it fixed. Ho hum - they're clearly not bothered. This lot are a waste of time, and I agree with other reports - once they've got your money, they don't give a toss. Avoid this outfit - go elsewhere, and spread the word.

On 23.02.15. I ordered an item by 'phone but cancelled it 20 mins later and was promised a refund. On 06.03.15, I rang for a third time as the refund had not reached my credit card. Spoke with am obvious zombie who asked the same few questions over and over until it became super tedious. Zombie man advised that 'admin' would ring next day. No call so I rang again. This time I spoke with a man who twice ticked me off for criticising his imcompetent co-worker, forcing me to remind him that I had often spent money in my local branch and was still a MM customer. After his third pompous outburst I was compelled to promise Moron2 that I would never shop there again. Well done, Zombieman and Moron2. Your customer service is notable for all the wrong reasons.

I bought a compressor on 15th January and it hasn't worked properly since purchase. Eventually I was asked to take it into the Glasgow store which I did on 25th February. I called tech support on 3rd March and was told by the technician it would take at least another 15 days as that was the aimed turn around time. Obviously I was not satisfied and was told to speak to customer services which I did. I received a call at 3:44pm telling me that they would prioritise the job and I would have further information the next day. However at 3:53pm on the same day I received a call to say the compressor was repaired, it was only an adjustment that was needed, and that they would dispatch my compressor by courier. Excellent service I thought however 4 days later still no sign of delivery. Fortunately I am not in business and relying on this to make money but I have to say in this day and age Machine Mart, although their staff on the phone were very polite, are way behind other companies in terms of customer service. This was my first purchase with Machine Mart and because of the experience sadly I think it will be my last.
