“Ordered a Tv from these people BEFORE i read the reviews, 7 days after later no sign of any order being placed I requested some info 4 times on what was wrong , they don't reply to the "ticket" nor do they answer the phone number Luckily ? i used a buy now pay later so I only have to get my deposit back not £800 ! so ordered cancelled
Please DO NOT USE COMPANY if you do well I hope you get a better outcome than me”
“Ordered a Minky Iron board online on 26th July 2015
No order number or confirmation email received
No communication until 1st of August 2015
Raised a ticket in their "live system". No tele customer support.
Ticket response from staff (Barry) promised followup and communication.
No order number or confirmation email yet on 5th of August
Raised a ticket to cancel the order - prompt response on cancellation - as if waiting to cancel the order with the intention to no fulfill the order.
Poor service and communication
Do not bother ordering from them and wasting your time”
“1st order: Didn't turn up, then sent and email saying they no longer had item in stock, after many weeks of discussion with their customer services department was told I would receive a £20 discount and refund for the inconvenience. I was then sent a £10 discount code!! Then complained and was eventually sent a £20 discount code, I then tried to use said discount code to be told I would to spend over a certain amount (much more than my original order). Quite p****ed off by this point but decided that nothing was worth this much hassle, so gave up pretty happy I had come off fairly unscathed.
2nd order: I have no idea why I thought it would be a good idea!!? Long story short, item out of stock again, offered a replacement at a higher price, ended up costing more than other online stores, but couldn't be bothered with waiting for a refund etc, took replacement and turned up many days later. I had no problems with the item.
I would not normally bother writing reviews but I thought this would save others many hours of wasted time. Don't waste your time.... this company must have a policy of taking orders on anything and everything in the hope they can get it somewhere for less than the price they advertise. When they can't find it from any supplier for less than the ridiculous price they have it on their site they just make up an excuse about stock management issues.
Terrible company.... they should be stopped until they sort things out.”
“Ordered a Computer Monitor on 1 July 2015 from Nigel Ohara
Received email on 10 July 2015 telling me of pricing error and needed to pay another £48 to complete order or have a refund, chose refund because it worked out cheaper elsewhere.
Now 4 August 2015 and still no refund.
Why this company is still trading is a mystery to me.Please avoid them.”
“Ordered Samsung 65 inch tv June 6th 2015 still not here 3rd August 2015 that's nearly 2 months of fob off emails. Cancelled order and got no explanation why my tv never came or apology.
Shocking way to do business and it really wasn't worth the alleged savings on there products as they don't arrive and getting your money back is not easy either.
Buyers beware! nigel o hara are poor!
Stick with UK known shops like curry's or John Lewis.”
“I recently tried to buy a laptop from Nigel O'Hara but received an email a week after paying to inform me that it was out of stock. As I was expecting to receive the item the next day I was unhappy with the amount of time they had taken to notify me but accepted this unfortunate but blameless occurence (although the exact same laptop is still advertised on the website as being in stock!)
I contacted customer services about a refund and was told that it would be coming. After a few days I contacted customer services again and was told that this may take up to 14 days to process. I also received a formulaic e-mail regarding returns and the need to include all documentation. (Despite the fact that they had cancelled my order and there was no laptop to return!)
15 days after being told that it MAY take UPTO 14 days to process a refund, I am still out of pocket by around £700 and therefore unable to buy another laptop until I receive my refund.
For this reason I give 1 star but for the unappologetic way they have made me feel fobbed off and sent me messages which have absolutely no baring on my case, I would have given 0 starts if it were possible.”
“AVOID THEM. They cancelled my order saying the price was an error. Then it took 2 weeks to get my cash back (only with the help of paypal) by which time the Amazon price had increased. Very bad service and broken promises.”
“Bought a item on the 4th, not emails until I chased up and received a email on the 16th stating there was a 'error' and that i could pay more or get a refund. So either they only found out about the 'error' at the EXACT same time i emailed them, which would be a strange coincidence.... or even more likely they were sitting on my money earning interest.
Once i asked for a refund it still did not arrive by the 28th, but then within a hour of me going through Paypal dispute claim the money was posted back to Paypal.
So there you have it, there is only 2 possibilities
1) They found their problems the EXACT time i sent them a message
or
2) They never intended to pay me back and simply just enjoyed sitting on my money waiting for people to chase them.
Either way i would not trust this company”
“Waste of time
Ordered a perfume for £102 in the beginning of June, with the estimated delivery being somewhere in the 20s. After not receiving it and enquiring a few times about, what was going on, was answered a silly bunch of nonsense each time. My questions have never been answered directly. it seemed, they had never even contacted the supplier to find out, what was causing the delay. All I was told was to wait, and then to wait some more. After five weeks of waiting I requested a refund. It's been 16 days now, and no refund has gone through. Thinking about opening a case with PayPal now to get my money back. Very unreliable and untrustworthy company, will never order again.”
“I ordered a gtx970 from nigel only to find that by week 2 I got a email saying it hadn't arrived yet. Then I read some reviews and got worried. Luckily I got my refund very speedily after I contacted PayPal. Next day actually. I think just looking at reviews here its more than evident that something isn't quite right with this company be it dodgy or just plain disorganised I really cant say. Some people have success but there's too many people with the same old stories, do yourself a favor don't just look at the overall star count just have a quick read at the first 3 negative reviews, I guarantee they'll ring familiar. Order item-don't get item-wait -ask for refund wait ask for refund-wait. Luckly I just by past that by contacting paypal. What I read a large portion of buyers go through with this company I wasn't gona do and got some quick action from just a paypal escalation.. Be weary about the great deals they seem to offer cause you could be waiting a very long time. I don't know what sort of company they are but selling products they don't have seems to be the big issue here. I honestly don't see how they got a 4 star rating under reviews with all the negative and similar feedback I'm seeing.
It really is about time this company was investigated.”
“Abysmal company, avoid like the plague
Ordered a monitor from this company, really wish I hadn't.
Before ordering I checked the online reviews and they seemed legit and they took PayPal (though only after I brought it to the attention of their Customer Service team that the option to pay via PayPal was missing from their site).
I ordered the monitor on the 1st of July. On the 5th I queried the status of the order as it was 'Dropshipped', a status that wasn't listed on their site. If I hadn't noticed this, who knows how long I would've waited before they would've contacted me.
They initially claimed the monitor had been discontinued, however they had re-listed it on their site using the part number instead of the model number, at a price more than 50% higher than I had paid.
When I queried the fact that the monitor clearly wasn't discontinued and that they had simply put it on their site under a different name, I was told that it was due to an issue with their supplier but they would chase the matter up for me the next day the supplier was open.
Many days later, I had to prompt them to find out what was happening to eventually be told that 'the best price they could offer' was 25% higher than I had paid.
I'm now awaiting a refund, a process that is taking far longer than is acceptable - they were able to receive my money instantly via PayPal but cannot refund it for 5-7 working days.
TL;DR - liars, cheats, swindlers - can't trust the prices they advertise - DO NOT BUY FROM”
“TO GOOD TO BE TRUE
Ordered a watch from this company on the 1st July estimated delivery was 11 day, 21 day later still no watch the company a joke, will never use again and seems to be some Patten that there taking peoples money and not delivering the goods. Should be reported to the trading standards.
Good pricing but I would personally stay away and pay the Extra money and get it delivered 2 to 3 working day be a proper company.
Now getting a refund lucky I paid through paypal which I have started a dispute with.”
“I wish I had listened to all the negative reviews about Nigel O Hara.
Just to save time for people who want a quick answer – ‘AVOID NIGEL O HARA AT ALL COSTS’ OREDRED WATCH 17th MAY AND NOW 23rd JULY STILL WAITING WITH NO ACTUAL REASON WHY THE DELAY AS OCCURED.
Here is my order of a Hugo Boss watch, purchased at £172.50, the current prices have gone upto £325.
Throughout the fiasco I was offered and reminded about getting a refund, but I did not want a refund as the watch went up in price and I was not prepared to fork out £325 for it. In addition other reviews on this site suggest difficulty in actually getting refunded.
17th May - I ordered and paid for a Hugo Boss watch
5th June - Followed up as I had not received the item, being told that a three week delivery timeframe was stated when ordered, although I do not recall seeing this when ordering and it is not on the order confirmation e-mail. I was given a date of between 24th May to 7th June for delivery from customer support.
11th June – Nothing received no E-mails from Nigel O Hara, contacted them, received reply on the 12th with a ‘sorry there has been a delay in your order..’ - Generic /pre written reply which was not any help.
I was not contacted by the company to be told this further delay; it was up to me to find out when I contacted them!
12th June – I replied to their e-mail a asked whether they could contact the supplier or give me proof of them ordering the product, to prove it actually is Hugo Boss making the delays.
13th June - Received a generic/pre written reply apologising for delay and stating that they have decided to chase my order up and it is expected in the next week.
24th June – E-mailed regarding an update and asked if the supplier can be contacted to give an actual reason for delay
27th June – Generic reply ‘Apologies’ ‘Sorry for delay..’ – generic response
02nd July – E-mailed asking for another update, bearing in mind nearing two months of original order
03rd July – Was offered a Bulova watch which retailed for £128 at another retailer , I was not going to get mugged so I rejected.
4th July – was told there is no specific arrival time and generic response
11th July - Was told that they will investigate with supplier and gather all the information and contact me. They also mentioned that they were going to be proactive with their response so I do not have to chase up.
23rd July – Still waiting for them to get back to me; the occasion which I purchase the watch for has passed.
Throughout the process they also refused to discuss the actual reason which was causing the delay as they said it was not a stock issue, which over two months delay from taking payment is not acceptable.
Sounds like they cannot keep customers or suppliers happy.
One thing I do give them is that they have a good customer service response time, although you get generic responses anyway that do not help, at least they attempt to reply to my queries.
I guess with the amount of complaints they get they probably need this set up to cope with the sheer volume of complaints.
I really want the watch and do not want to spend an extra £152.50 buying from another retailer and therefore do not want a refund.
Now being 23rd July, I still do not know when I will receive my product which I ordered on the 17th May.......”
“I placed an order for 3 items and received an email saying 1 of the items was out of stock and unavailable. I advised them to just send the other 2 items and refund for the out of stock item. They managed to cancel the whole order by mistake but didn't tell me so I waited weeks before finding out. I then reordered the 2 items on the 15th June and as of today 50% of the order is still missing. I emailed one of the managers who has ignored my last email. My advice would be to pay an extra few pounds and order from a reliable and trustworthy cause. I am contacting my credit card company to assist with this matter.”
“I tried to order a camera battery from this lot, the transaction failed during verification.
I contacted them 8 times in all, even via their Facebook page. I only ever got a reply via facebook saying they could not deal as it was not customer service.
I just discovered they billed my card and never sent the battery.
This is theft! Got to get in touch with my card company now.”
“DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!Ordered some perfume 2 weeks ago for my moms anniversary to be told today that the price was marked up wrong and so Iv got to pay another £10! I wanted this perfume for Sunday, but looks like after reading other reviews this is a con they are doing on a regular basis. If asked for a refund but who knows how long that will take”
“BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! O'Hara's website may look plausible/professional but believe me you MUST COMPLETELY AVOID this 'company' at all costs. They will take your money and then claim they are ordering the product in 'specially' for you and then as the days and weeks pass give you loads of nonsense about upgrading the priority of your order etc etc. Fact of the matter is they will never tell you anything concrete or give you an actual date. Even when you ask them point blank and get very direct with them they still insist on spewing out a load of meaningless platitudes just to buy more time with your money. In the end I had to request a refund - on several ocassions in fact. Eventually when it seems they finally managed to 'understand' what I wanted I was told it would be done but could take up to another 2 weeks (they could never explain why, despite me asking the question several times). It didn't matter anyway because even after 2 weeks - surprise surprise - no refund was forthcoming, despite my insistence via repeated communications with them. Contact incidentally is only possible via a button on their website sent as a message to their so-called 'customer service' team. I wouldn't even dignify them by saying they are no good at customer service. It doesn't take a genius to work out this is pre-meditated intent on their part to be vague and evasive so as to keep hold of your money for longer. This is why they also ensure there is no means of contacting them by phone - very convenient. Yes It's a well thought out operation if nothing else. Finally, and only as a result of filing an official claim with PayPal did I obtain my refund yesterday nearly 2 months after placing my order (or more correctly believing I had placed my order). Never at any point after the first couple of days did I believe there was any genuine attempt under way by O'Hara to supply the product they had had my money for. I have lodged a report with the Police on their ActionFraud website and also written to PayPal urging them to reconsider their relationship with this 'company' and would advise any other unfortunates in a similar situation to take the same course of action. This sort of lowlife operation needs stamping out for the sake of the unwary decent majority.”
