“DO NOT USE ParcelCompare. When you google you might see this at first because this company sounds and behaves fishy. Go for another options- AWARNESS REVIEW, if gets approved.
Booked a parcel collection from this company and paid £17 something for next day collection. Cancelled my hospital shift as this return was very important to be on time. Next day, Waited all day long but no one turned up. Following day when I tried to contact this company, they don’t have any contact number where I can actually talk to some one. I can contact them via chat only. Chatted to Sheila Bell who checked and said that she cannot see why the collection is not collected but issued a ticket that someone will contact you tomorrow. Day 3, waited all day again still nothing, no emails nothing at all. Contacted via chat again- Pearl something- Collection missed, you need to rebook again. What ???? This company sounds like a fraud to me. Don’t even try with this company. I’m worried if they will try to pull money from the card details that I used to pay at first. I’ve informed my bank already.”
“Terrible rip off merchants. No phone customer service. Obvious why. I Had an EU return which cost £48 to send. Got returned to me due to failure to deliver to customer, who was not contacted, and they charged me £150! Straight out of bank account. Other third party couriers return for free. The week previous I was charged twice for parcels which were classed oversized. Utter nonesense. I measure and weigh accurately. No chance of disputing, they get your money through your card.
Do not use them. You have been warned! If I could give zero stars I would.”
“Do not use them. After destroying a large parcel sent to a supplier - it was a return, in exactly the same packaging as they sent the original item, and insured - they reeled out packaging guidelines and exemptions only after I claimed. Anything to wriggle out of providing customer service. PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM.”
“AVOID - 6 months !!! after sending an item. I receive invoice for over -weight charge .. which is complete RUBBISH ..It was WELL within the guide lines ... plus the post office weigh it when it's dropped off to them ...- hopefully with the gathering number of bad reviews their days are numbered.”
“This is a scam site. Have a look at the reviews on TrustPilot too as they’re awful. They take money from your account - completely unauthorised - sometimes weeks after the initial transaction. They lost my parcel and so far have refused to reimburse either the postage or the contents. More than a dozen emails later and I’m still fighting.
AVOID!”
“Total Scam!!!!
I have completed this transaction with ParcelCompare for sending a A4size document to Turkey on Nov 23, 2023. I paid for the envelope to be delivered to the given address, receiving the signature of the recipient. I was given Nov 28rd as the possible delivery date. I have completed the form with all the required info, including recipient’s tax number. As I was tracking the document I realized that on Nov 25th that the document was held at the UK customs, saying “no tax no given”. I contacted the support line right away and sent the initial forms showing recipient’s tax no. The support center agreed with me and then there was a loong period of silence in spite of my emails asking for the outcome. By this time, I had to send the documents with DHL because the document was addressed to a client and all this put me in a very awkward position. On Dec 11th I got a reply from ParcelCompare, saying my document was given to a different courier and the recipient co should contact the new courier in Istanbul to get the document!!! At the end the document was not delivered at all. Now they are saying, it was because of the rules of Turkish customs! (This is not correct since DHL delivered the same documents in 4 days). I have used the services of this co before and I was not let down before. However now reading through some of these reviews, I think they must have gone through a major restructuring and have become a scam operation. I think they never intended to deliver, just was interested in getting the payment. I have asked for a refund and a compensation for the inconvenience caused may times but it was refused by the co. I believe they should be marked as a scam operation and their operations should be ceased.”
“Scam company- automatic deduction of money from account weeks after delivery for ‘parcel being incorrect size’ which it wasn’t. Avoid, currently disputing with bank for charge back.”
“Avoid @ all costs - you will be ripped off!
Oh I wish I had looked @ these reviews before using them.
Sent a parcel only to incur a 'surcharge' because according to an audit my package was outside of the dimensions / weight yet even though the results of the audit they sent me were under the specifications. This resulted in the charge being 300% of what was quoted which was £35 and then the £72 surcharge on top of that.
Not only that they feel they have the freedom to just charge your card for this surcharge without my approval - essentially you are giving them free rein to charge you when they want.
Don't bother trying to resolve this with their 'support' as all they do is ask you to provide 'evidence' AFTER your package has left so how can you do that.
Disputing this with BarclayCard on principle - again AVOID!”
“They stole my £12 for a service that I never received, because I could not print the label.
Stay clear of this company you have been warned. Go to the post office if you can it cost a lot less and you will get what you paid for.”
“It seems I read the reviews too late.
6 months after delivery of my parcel they decided I need to pay a surcharge but can’t be specific as to why.
They took the money from my bank without my agreement and so I will
persue this.
I won’t use them again .”
“AVOID This company at all costs they have delivered my parcel but have made up a fake surcharge from Ups and that I need to pay extra charges within 7 days”
“Booked a drop off at nearest local Premier shop as shown on booking form. Via Fedex .Took the parcel there and were told “ not doing that until January 2024 ! “ no apology !
Went home and cancelled the booking online. Looked at another drop off point and altered details to drop off there. Phoned the shop first to check that the service is definitely available. Was told yes , no problem.
Took parcel there and assistant scanned bar code. Nothing registered. Sorry but this bar code not recognised !! Returned home again and tried to contact both Parcelcompare and Fedex.
Unable to get help online except by an automatic response bot !
Cancelled complete thing and found another service via Royal Mail drop off facility. If you book online cheaper than Fedex. Looked up reviews of Fedex and on a trustpilot site 93% of customers said don’t use Fedex !! DO NOT USE FEDEX especially via Parcelcompare.”
“Do not use this company! They lost my parcel one year ago…and are now demanding money threatening to destroy my parcel within seven days if I didn’t pay… I didn’t pay and now they say they’ve destroyed it and are still demanding money with threat of legal action! Scammers!!!”
“My item was damaged in the post and even though I had paid extra for insurance they won't pay. The courier said that if I had booked directly I would have been covered by insurance. Just go directly, don't book through this company.”
“My husband sent a package from the UK to Israel. It cost 90 pounds. It reached Belgium then Parcelcompare sent us an email saying it was being returned because of an embargo (the recipient in Israel has had no problem getting parcels before or since then). Now Parcecompare is demanding a further 90 euros for us to get the parcel back or they will dispose of it in a week (it feels like some ransom threat). I have never heard of that kind of practice before and 90 euros (well 180 really) to reach Belgium and back seems ludicrous. Is this company a scam?”
“Just use for comparisons and then book directly with the courier through their own websites. To claim on their insurance if anything goes wrong is an absolute nightmare. I am still fighting for it 12 days on and being sent around in circles. Even worse you have to pay for the return to prove the damages when a parcel is rejected”
