“My buyer is using this company and we agreed the sale in September 2020 I signed contracts in January of this year then suddenly they needed a document sorting with the land registry this was sorted 2 an a half weeks ago and they still won't give my solicitors a completion date. They have ignored emails and phone calls and actually put the phone down on my solicitor today so I have no choice but to put the house back on sale as I am no longer prepared to live like this. Avoid at all cost and I will be lodging a complaint with the law society about this company.”
“Save yourself the heartache. I've never worked with a company with such little respect for humanity. Constantly ignored, promises broken constantly never called back even by managers and not an ounce of empathy”
“Our Sale completed in around 9 weeks, our Conveyancer Rachel Fordham was contactable and very prompt with all details. All progressed very smoothly even the more tricky parts such as the Buyers solicitors questions. Whole experience was much more visible and less stressful than other purchases and sales with other Solicitors.”
“Absolutely shocking customer service. Inefficient. Ineffective. Slow. Never pick up the phone. I spend my days calling and emailing them to be asked for the same pieces of information repeatedly. Our sale has taken nearly 7 months and aged me by 7 years in no small part due to the ineptitude of this cowboy organisation. Our buyers conveyancer is in the same organisation and they fail to talk to each other without me prompting them. Avoid avoid avoid!!!”
“Do not use these despicable non professional people, no contact, no advice, highly recommended not to use.
Again if I could give 0 stars it would be, putting in complaint to SRA, they should not be getting away with this.”
“I feel bad for writing this but I am now at the end of my tether.
It has taken around 8 months to nearly be in my flat. I’m writing this still waiting to move in, as was promised to get my keys last week.
I was advised once sending off my signed contract and lease, I would definitely be picking up my
Keys on the date that I had asked.
Roll on the day before, when I got an email saying that something on the lease plan needs changing. No idea how long this will be, then even after that it will still take an extra 2 days before I can move in.
Fair enough if this issue cropped up sooner, but how was that only noticed the day before completion!?
Financial statement and deposit has all been paid.
I have constantly been chasing my solicitor, month by month for any updates, sometimes waiting around a week for a one line response. The flat I am buying is newly refurbished, with no chain and has been empty for 8 months!
Talking to colleagues at work buying properties with a chain and only waiting around 3 months to move in...
Easter holidays came. I knew I had no chance of hearing anything back since last Monday, when I was upset and drained that I couldn’t get my keys, when I was promised I could.
Since last Monday, I have sent around 8 emails, left 3 voicemails on my solicitor’s direct number, and passed 2 messages on via the receptionist...with no reply or any acknowledgment email...
Absolutely disappointed.
Been kicked to the curb now I have paid everything, where is the customer service?
Post code has been incorrect throughout, which put a delay in me sending the signed contract and lease off.
When speaking to a receptionist yesterday I told them when I was free for a call. They just advised that they would try to get my solicitor to call me. Only try? Yet I’ve already paid for the whole service to be let down again...
One good thing is that they have been thorough, but when asked why things have taken so long I get a rude response asking me, don’t you want things to be done correctly?
Unfortunately won’t be using again”
“The buyer of our house is using this debacle of a company, and 5 months later we're nowhere near ready to exchange contracts. Our solicitors have little communication from them, and our estate agent had the phone put down on her when she wanted to make enquiries about the progress. Rude, incompetent and unprofessional. They have made a straightforward process into an utter nightmare. Avoid at all costs if you value your sanity”
“If I could give them no stars I would. My sale and purchase took over six months to complete. I had to do all the chasing myself direct with my buyer and estate agent and I was passed from one person to another whenever I did contact them. The person who was supposed to be dealing with my transaction left midway through and I was not allocated anyone else until I asked them. Whenever I rang them the person who picked up the phone had no idea what was going on on my file I had to repeatedly explain what was happening and when I got upset they threatened to put the phone down on me. As soon as we had eventually exchanged contracts I asked for a completion statement to be provided which was never forthcoming the conveyancer who was dealing just waited until right before completion to ask for money to be transferred urgently. He then rang a couple of days to say that I needed to transfer more money which I did and now six weeks after the transaction completed he has contacted me again for more money blaming the previous conveyancer for the mistake. It has been a complete nightmare - never again”
“in the process of purchasing a house up in Whitehaven
and wish i had read this prior to believing the recommendation from right move
i believed by keeping conveycing in house and as a cash buyer with no chain (either side) this would be very strait forward
weeks in now and never spoke to my conveyencer Gurvinder just a series of receptionists
who all ask for what they already have on file.
i could go on for hours but will update later with more facts
poor communication
hike prices
expecting to purchase 8 more properties in the next 12 months and this company will not be getting my business”
“The worst experience of my life. Anyone selling through purple bricks do not go here. Amateur, poor service, drag things out, complete unnecessary enquiries, change lawyers every five minutes, dont reply to emails or phone calls
Wish I could leave 0 stars as 1 is too many”
“This is without a doubt the worst experience of my life.
They took 9 months to complete a cash sale, lost my original lease, charged me for a new one, and then found it with telling me.
The list of complaints I have is endless but in a nutshell all you need to know is that if u chose to use these people, you can't say that you haven't been warned!
Absolute cowboys

“1 star is to high.... currently 6 months in. Chain of 2. Someone buying our place, us buying an empty property build in 2015. The amount of stupid questions asked is incredible. No call backs when requested. Always someone else's fault. Estimated move dates are just a date... add a few months and you might be in your new place. Total lack of get up and go. Hard to get hold of. Online eway portal is not very clear as to when documents were uploaded. I've got answers to questions that weren't even posted. No transparency, lack of trust and confidence.”
“Advised to use them by purple bricks so they should also get a poor review. I am annoyed I didn’t check all the poor reviews before I agreed to use them. Found my self constantly chasing them to get things done. Phone call after phone call after phone call..Communication, customer service, attitude, understanding and overall service very poor. They still owe me money they have from the sale that eventually went through. I have been told I will have to wait another 7 months for the money they owe me. The amount of stress caused by the whole experience was unbearable. You have been warned.”
“Like the online facility to upload documents and see progress of sale.
Assigned conveyancer, was difficult to communicate with, when asked questions were asked, i.e why are you asking for documents that I have sent previously and believed them to be the correct ones? She responded in defensive and patronizing manner, without any full explanation of 'why' . She was then unavailable when the sale reached exchange stage.
This turned into a blessing in terms of communication, as the person who picked up the case, was friendly and professional and explained what had previously been unexplained and I felt supported through the final and stressful stage. However, I was disappointed that I had the cover the cost of indemnity insurance and expedition fee. I feel with better communication / explanations by initial conveyancer, these cost could have been avoided.”
“I was purchasing a property in the northeast and have pulled out of the deal because of the bad work this company have done for the vendors of the property I was purchasing. The vendors have let us know that they can't phone them and everything had to be done by e-mail. We were told that we would be moving on 5th Feb only to be told 1 day later that there is a document that needed to be signed and sent back that they had only just found. Our buyer was not willing to wait any longer than the 5th and we had no guarantee that the document would be signed in time and after reading the reviews on here we decided that things had gone too far with false promises that we didn't have any faith in their ability. We feel terrible for the other parties but something had to give eventually. Do not use these people, sometimes you get what you pay for.”
“Solicitors don't respond to emails, when I call they will forward me to someone else that isn't any help at all. They don't know what they are talking about. Super slow and don't get work done will not never use them again.”
“My house sale completed four days ago. I have still not received the proceeds of sale...... because I have not yet purchased another property, I am living in temporary accommodation. I therefore got a P O Box for my mail. They say they cannot pay me my proceeds of sale £250,000 while I have a P O Box so they are hanging on to it...... isnt that theft????”
“I’ve sold and purchased many properties over the years. This organisation stands out as the worst by a country mile in their own section and when compared against every other company in the Uk and abroad I have ever had to deal with. They have turned the straightforward purchase of a one bedroom flat to a first time buyer from an extremely stressful experience into a true nightmare for all involved. They repeat questions when they’ve had answers months earlier, they ask for indemnity policies where they are not legally needed. Their understanding and interpretation of uk law is woeful. I’m at 6 months from accepting the offer and still no exchange. My buyer (their client) is scared to contact them because our case might be put to the back of the pile!! All these 1 star reviews on this site, 175 of them on another site. Do you need to know more? Just avoid, avoid, avoid.”
