“We lost our mum in June to Cancer and took the decision for me to sell my property, move into my sisters to be near. I had a straightforward sale through Purple Bricks. However, the PPL conveyancing has been an absolute joke. We have sent every piece of information requested to them, and they have failed to forward this on to the other solicitor, hence a delay on completion. They don’t answer telephone calls, communication is non-existant, it really beggars belief how they can be allowed to carry on this way. So, so disappointed.”
“So far so bad. We're buying a house through Purplebricks (also abysmal) and they use Premier Property Lawyers. The even worse thing is that the seller is using Premier Property Lawyers (different branch) so you'd think it'd be smooth. 2 1/2 months over the exchange date and each time we ask for an update we get the same answer - we'll chase today and find out - and then nothing. Until i have to contact again and then we receive the same reply!”
“Truly awful. 16 weeks and counting so far for a chain of 3 with no mortgages involved, first time buyer at one end and a new build buyer at the other. What a mistake using this lot. DONT USE.”
“My experience has been appalling. Communication is abysmal. No response to calls or emails. Conveyancer is impossible to get hold of. I seem to be doing most of the work. I wish I had read the reviews first, but was using purple bricks ( who themselves were good but have premier property lawyers as their default conveyancers as part of their package)
Do not use this company if you value your sanity and health. The simplest forms of communication seem to be beyond them. Yes, their system was compromised but for the past month my conveyancers mobile has had the message 'this number has technical difficulties, please try again later'. For goodness sake, can you not access another mobile phone? can you not get a new one? There appears to be nothing now standing in the way of my completion except this inept conveyancing team. My next step is to contact the Ombudsman and I would urge everyone in this situation to do the same”
“My partner agreed sale on property in September still haven’t exchanged contracts every time we contact them the system is down.Words fail me never have I come across such a incompetence.”
“Where do I start... we are now 20 weeks in with no hope of completing before March at the earliest due to them not amending the correct information to our buyers solicitor even though we told them about it on day 1 and expecting the buyers solicitors to do it on their behalf. We had to do a lot of the leg work and have now had to employ an additional solicitor to complete this task. I do suspect that the 'conveyancers' that are assigned to us are just glorified administrators with no serious knowledge of more complex issues.
On top of all of this the security breach meaning that we had no contact at all for five weeks now just adds insult to injury and it seems that no one, no matter how high their position in the company, cares.
We have just taken this to the legal ombudsman and I recommend that if anyone is unhappy with their service to do the same.”
“Total lack of empathy, support, understanding, making my house move the worst ever experience, long drawn out delays with no answers to any of my emails, I almost lost all sense of faith in humanity. An extremely difficult and lonely time for me, I'm still. In limbo with these clowns, please, please go to a reputable conveyancer that cares, these people don't give a ****”
“Do not use this company. Worst service I have ever had - they acted throughout as if they couldn't care less. Employed them on the recommendation of our Estate Agent which rather bears out the reputation of Estate Agents - I'm told they recommend this shower because they get a nice fat kick back. We sacked them off, got a decent solicitor and everything was done quickly and smoothly - we exchange today. With Premier Property Lawyers I think it would all have collapsed. Summed up by what they said to us on the phone when we expressed concern and I quote "chains break down all the time" said in an offhand manner. They've got one star from me only because I have to do that - they're worth nil.”
“Pure incompetence.
No communication at all and the chain collapsed. Thousands out of pocket due to PPL radio silence and ineptitude, then a call comes through last week from PPL saying they are ready to go, at which point they were informed that if they had answered their phones they would have known the chain had collapsed.
Get your act together PPL.”
“Do not, I repeat, do not use this company! As first time buyers, moving has been the most horrific experience. I know moving is always stressful but Premier Property Lawyers made it 100x times worse from the very beginning. The communication is non existent - we only spoke to our actual conveyancer a handful of times over a 8 month period. They continously fob you off and as they have so many clients, you are never a priority. I had to constantly push for updates and even had to push to exchange otherwise it would have taken longer. Seeing as the chain was so small, it shouldn't have taken the time it took. When we completed, we didn't get a phone call at all during the day from PPL. Myself, the estate agent and the seller could not get through to anyone on the day! Our conveyancer was "working from home and therefore, my call could not be transferred to her". The only advice I can give is to stay well clear!!”
“Put simply, pure incompetence. Zero communication, zero help. Chain has now collapsed and now thousands out of pocket.
If you love unimaginable stress then these have it covered.”
“Avoid like the plague. They are the most incompetent bunch of liars and cowboys that I have ever experienced in my life, to keep blaming data outage is beyond belief, it doesnt wash with me anymore, I nearly lost my house purchase which has already cost us thousands of pounds in upgrade fees as it is a new build, lack of communication and they are certainly not cheap by any means. Lets just hope completion goes through smoothly as it is less than two weeks.”
“We were due to exchange on the 9th November with our buyers wanting to Complete on the 22nd November, on the 8th November we noticed that the website and app wasn't responding.
We filled in the online form, our conveyancer, Holly, told us she couldn't get into the system, we would have to wait.
I submitted another contact form the following week, explained that our buyers were elderly people who had moved out of their home and were in effect homeless.
We eventually exchanged and completed on the 30th November, 8 days later.
I believe our sale was prioritised owing to our buyers circumstances.
Other than the IT outage that delayed our sale we personally found our conveyancer to be spot on for communication, response times and efficiency.
Sad to hear about the woes of others, we can empathise with your plight, earlier in the year someone in our chain pulled out on exchange day, apparently in a 'fit of pique'. Our buyers had to resell their property.
The old saying "patience is a virtue" has tested us to the limit.”
“useless
9 months and still going to sell a no chain 1 bed flat
impossible to deal with terrible communication
do yourself a favour do not go there appoint a local conveyancer”
“Terrible communication, didnt even want to give one star, but you don't get that option. Complete shambles, not even getting updates from estate agent. there has been an outstanding enquiry for over 7 weeks now at the top of our chain. Can't get any updates been told we may exchange before Christmas I presume that's 2021, but might not be able to complete till new year. We have been given no reason for this at all. Surely exchange and completion can be done in the same day. Seriously thinking of pulling out of the purchase. We just want to know the truth as to what is happening with our Purchase.”
“The worst customer service I have EVER experienced incompetent on a good day , down right liars every other day and this was before the IT outage ,data breach offline server or whatever they decide it was on the the day who knows, they tell you something different every time you call ..and you have to call otherwise you don't hear anything from them .... totally useless...take my advice and steer well clear.”
“I just want to give a little hope to people still waiting for contact or updates, I myself was searching through reviews desperate to see that sales were still completing, so I just wanted to write a short review to say I have now heard and am completing this week, I was waiting and submitting the form, with no contact, but when Ali my solicitor rang me back she was so apologetic and I just couldn’t loose my temper as it really wasn’t her fault, I was terrified mine would fall through, so I just wanted to give anyone still waiting a little hope”
“My parents house sale had no chain and went through on 17th November and they still have not received their money from the house sale! No replies to emails or phone calls and Connells are the same !! Disgraceful the stress it is causing - we have builders here waiting for their money and no idea where it is, there were big red flags when the house sale nearly fell through because of a 'security breach' at the solicitors! Let's hope my parents 250k is safe???? as we have no idea where it is!”
