had let out 3 properties with Purple bricks and a tenant had fallen in to the arrears for which purple bricks served a section 8 notice in August 2017 to evict the tenant for falling behind. This was never executed by purple bricks and during the same time we had begun receiving bank statements with purple bricks using the exact same property concerned with the section 8 notice as having paid the rent. However they had used the property concerned for all rents coming in and therefore impossible to determine which rent is for which property. Leaving me confused and unable to determine which rent relates to which property as I am 62 years of age and expected my agent to be more diligent. It was only when realised I am at risk of loosing my property because I was nt able to cover costs of mortgage that I examined what is going wrong and realised that there was only two rents being paid and the third payment was missing. I contacted the agent who categorically denied this and accused me of collecting cash in hand for which I was thereafter passed around for a week from person to person before they investigated to establish which tenant is not paying. It turned out that the very property they had served section 8 for in August 2017 and was also being used as a reference for rent paid on bank statements was living for the last 18 months rent free. It adds insult to injury knowing purple bricks who were fully letting and managing the property had failed to even check the property as it was illegally sublet when we finally went to check there were multiple people living they even provided us a tenancy agreement which is on record. Therefore bailiffs were instructed and the tenants evicted. Purple bricks have wiped there hands of claiming it was a software error by the company and the contract is soley between the landlord and tenant.

Absolutely terrible. Our tenant didn't pay the last month's rent and left the house dirty. Purple bricks agreed we should get the entire deposit back. Four months later I spoke to our Ex- tenant who informed me that she had agreed that we get the entire deposit months ago. We are still waiting for Our money, it's been five months! All calls are ignored, all emails ignored even wrote to chief executive and yes also ignored. Next will be a lawyer. Do not go with Purple bricks

Extremely poor communication & customer service. I cannot express just how poor Purple Bricks are as property management agents. If it were possible I would give them no stars. All seemed well when we viewed the house and they seemed quick to respond and communicate. As such we got through the application and tenancy agreement process relatively painlessly. However, as soon as we signed our lease they became almost impossible to get hold of. Emails went unanswered. We tried phoning on numerous occasions and were consistently told that the person we needed was unavailable and would get back in touch. They never did. We went through several account handlers as people left the company. As such we could never get a response to an issue. We had a guttering problem, causing the neighbours to complain and we did not manage to get a response from Purple Bricks on this issue in almost 2 years. As we had no direct contact with the landlord, issue resolution was, therefore, non-existent. The only communication came when the landlord wanted to speak to us via them. We were asked by the landlord (via PurpleBricks) if we would consider leaving early so he could sell the property. We accepted this and moved out around 2 weeks before the original scheduled end of tenancy. It was agreed that for this we would not be required to pay for the remaining term. Our account handler at Purple Bricks failed to report this to the accounts department and so we were served with a rent arrears notice. When we explained the situation to the person from accounts we were told there was no record of the agreement on their system. Our account handler finally responded saying that he had forgotten to report the change. When we ended our tenancy of the property it then took them over three weeks to contact us regarding our deposit. We are still trying to sort this out, well over a month later, but typically we are not able to get any response. With a baby on the way this is causing stress we really don't need trying to get money that we really do.

Shocking !, potential purchaser, failed to answer calls, failed to organise viewings and then the offer was rejected. Complete waste of time and would avoid at all cost, apparently lots of staff left !

Avoid purplebricks! They will value your property at an unreasonable high price and the only advice when it does not sell is that you should lower the asking price. They do not have any accountability as they will get paid either way.

Tried to view a property several times and arranging it is a nightmare. The online calendar system is appalling. I booked free slots and it was cancelled every time.

If I could give a minus I would. Absolutely appalling! waste of money and the lack of communication is terrible. How they are still going is beyond me. Avoid at all costs! Its not just potential buyers that don't turn up for viewings but purple bricks themselves!

Pathetic service. I do not know how they manage to sell properties at all. I wanted to see a house, which I was interested to buy, and several times my appointment was confirmed and canceled after that. The last time I was on my way to the house when I got the cancellation message. Nobody called me, and nobody wanted to answer my calls. I did not manage to see this house at all. Eventually, I realized that this would never happen. Do not lose your time with them.

As a buyer; unable to contact their local representative to ask any questions about the properties they were advertising. Rang multiple times and left voicemails with my contact details over a period of two weeks. Bought an alternative property through a high street agent in the end who were easy to contact and responsive. Wouldn't even consider using them as a seller based on that experience. Gloucester area.

They paid their Canadian staff to post fake reviews online, they admitted to it (Google the Forbes article) they got caught! Same allegations in UK. The company is unethical and should be shut down.

Deceitful, arrogant, condescending. I was on the way to getting my dream home only to have a LV3 survey throw up lots of structural issues that required the purchase price to be significantly reduced. New roof. Active and historic woodworm. Timber rot. Extensive rising damp. Cracks to masonry. All of these issues were kindly omitted to me by PB, euphemistically described in their ad as "house requires modernisation." Well, it didn't half. Upon informing PB of survey results, I was told that they 'knew the house was a wreck...and needed 40k spending on it.' Well, none of this critical info was offered to me as a buyer, I had to find out for myself (and pay for it), tell PB who then seemed to know all about it. If I'd have known, I'd have never have put in an offer. I was condescendingly told that woodworm was 'not a big problem' and 'easily solved.' Yeah? Then why hadn't the vendor done it then? I have been told by numerous people, including my solicitor, about PBs poor reputation. They weren't wrong.

My only experience is that when I wanted to view a property I called their number and it obviously is a central number for the whole country so they couldn't tell me anything about the property. I then asked to book a viewing and was told that the earliest was 8 days later which was ridiculous but the rep in the area would have to call me to confirm, he never called me to confirm so I didn't view, the seller may have lost out on a sale because I viewed a property through a normal agent the next day and made a offer on the property.

put my property on with purplebricks after there agent assured me the price i was asking was fair even a bit low and would sell on auction site easy as i pointed out i took of market because of no end of viewings i had no chain so guaranteed quick sale less than 4 weeks asked me to drop price followed by lots of excuses/reasons for lack of interest in 8 months i think 10 potential viewings only 3 turned up 2 of those that turned up both said liked property but the £7000 purple bricks where going to charge on top was unrealistic and was told to knock me down on price to get it back on top of£1700 they are charging me which they will take weather they sell or not greed within 4 days of putting property on with purplebricks bombarded with junk mail from other estate agents which i believe more than coincidence ! i did not appreciate local estate agents when i used them but that is the only place i will be going in future 1700 plus out of pocket would not recommend purplebricks to my worst enemy

So many no-shows when people book viewings. Very inconvenient. No one is chasing or encouraging people to view and then following up if they don’t turn up.

Terrible service-they value below market price for a quick sale, extremely slow response times and poor service. Would not recommend!

Do not us purplebricks Not proactive at all, Dropped online and left. A waste of £1000 (and no chance of a refund) A local estate agent would be better, Local prospective buyers call lists Proactive

Don't do it! It might seem like a cheaper option but trust me, get an estate agent. House did not sell, 3 people came to look at it in 6 months, all of whom wanted to drop the price by £30,000 because it was overpriced by purple bricks. Got our hopes up it was worth more. The local agents sold it in 1 week at a better price! I would NEVER use them again or recommend that anyone else does.

As a buyer they are useless. When I told my selling team and conveyancer I had found a house with PB..they all said the same.. oh God no!! Once offer accepted little contact happens. When I arranged a viewing to measure up they never showed had to arrange for next day. Communication is varied depending on their desire to respond. But the worst is when your get your survey and want to discuss it or arrange for issues to be sorted or reduction. Lack lustre to assist in sorting it and aiding us as a buyer in the serious issues raised during survey. Left having to admit defeat and pay for the issues when we move in. Its stressful enough and they make it so much worse. We nearly pulled out over the issues and lack of assistance but our chain was sold and we needed to move. They may be cheap from the sellers point of few..but your sale is not just about you. they care little for the people who will actually buy your house.. cheap and nasty is all I can say.. my high Street estate agent selling mine had to help me with all my issues and it wasn't their job.. takes so long for legal team to do anything.no professiolism..care or regard for anyone bar just getting their fee. All I can say is.. if I ever move again..and my dream home is being sold by PB I wouldn't even bother.. I will walk away.
