Hello, It has come to my attention that Reverb is running what I would call a scam. If you do not purchase their Safe Shipping and still purchase the label through Reverb you are not eligible to file a claim if your package is damged. You are not eleible to file a claim through Reverb or with the carrier. Thats crazy IMHO I sold a guitar that was packed very well and it arrived damaged to the buyer. Of course he wants to return it. I am stuck with a damaged guitar with no recourse. Reverb customer service is non existant. I scheduled a call with them and 15 minutes before the call was to happen it was canceled by Reverb. Not sure how you can offer shipping with a carrier and refuse the benifits. Has anyone else had this issue with Reverb?

I posted a graphic equalizer. I've sold scores of items in the past. The site gave me an outrageous shipping cost, more than what I was charging for the equalizer. I was told by chat or email that they no longer talk to people. You either work out you issue by email or you get nothing. I cancelled the transaction and will find another place to buy and sell.

Posted 4 vintage guitars on this SCAM site.. After 2 weeks NOTHING but scammers trying to steal your personal formation WITH REVERB MANAGEMENT HELP.. ! I sold a guitar and it turned out to be a scam WITH THE HELP OF REVERB management. They RIPPED me off for $400... Then said oh sorry.. We'll "Look into" getting you the money back that WE STOLE FROM YOU.... Yes not one word not one dollar. This site is COMPLETE SCAM as the one STAR rating shows. As other posters say they encourage FAKE and ID THEIFS because without them the site would be a ghost town. Ex employee told me they need them because they are over 80% of the user base and Reverb caters to them... BE WARNED. I now know from experience and am out $400... don't make my mistake!!

They allow fraudulent sellers on site, you buy stuff that doesn’t exist, then Reverb tells you it is your problem. Stay far away.

I will not deal with Reverb again if at all possible. They have not transferred my payment in over a good week. My sale went smooth with my buyer but Reverb does not send the payment!!!! Terrible service. If I could give a zero I would gladly do that.

Customer service is awful. I returned a guitar. The seller told reverb that the seller received the guitar back. The seller wanted to refund me. But reverb would not allow it until I provided pictures of the guitar, that I no longer had! They won’t connect you to a supervisor. They just hang up on you when you call the number. They disconnect the chat without answering your questions.

If you are thinking of dealine with Reverb; think again and then DON'T! THey make no effort to verify the quality or condition of the equipment/products they sell and when the equipment proves defective they do absolutely nothing to correct the situation. I Placed an order with “Reverb” for a Sony DAT recorder/player. In the seller’s listing, it specifically stated that 'I...plugged a lo-z mic into the XLR inputs, set the record level at 4, started recording and proceeded to "sing" into the mic continuously. It did an excellent job at recording & playing back." I purchased the unit based on the seller's description of the it as a working machine. Once the order was delivered, I spent most of that day and evening attempting to play already recorded tapes and make new recordings. It was obvious that the tape deck mechanism was NOT WORKING; it would neither play tapes with existing content nor would it record new or playback new content. This would have been obvious to the seller had he actually tried to record/play as was described in the his listing. That same night I requested a refund through the “Reverb” customer service website and immediately received email from “Reverb” denying my refund request. I replied to “Reverb” describing the problem again and was told to contact the seller directly. I made several attempts to contact the seller through “Reverb’s” website. with the seller makien no attempt to reply. I then reversed the charges with my bank...weeks later, I start getting emails from "Reverb support" essentially demanding that I order my bank to pay. Perhaps I've just been lucky but i've bought and sold audio/music equipment for many, many years...new and used...from a varitey of businesses...before Reverb, I've never dealt with a company who seem purposely oblivious the the concept of customer service. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DON'T DEAL WITH REVERB!!!

This is another piece of a shit😡😡😡 In my country, the government would have withdrawn their operating license because of this a long time ago.

I have been in music for over 50 years and have never been this disappointed in service. No acknowledgement of payment no notice of shipment no tracking information. NOTHING. Then when I finally get my purchase I get it from a drop shipper. Will never buy here again.

Multiple hidden fees that are not advertised anywhere until AFTER you make a sale (and they’ve already taken the money). Scam all the way around. Just use eBay or any of the number of known sites with years of reputation.

Having used reverb for many years, things have taken a turn for the worst. Fake sellers and buyers have unfortunately taken over the site. They will take your money then you will struggle to get it back it again with Reverb. No one to speak to just message bots. Don't use until they clean up their act.

This company hid payment delay information related to Silicon Valley Bank from customers. To make matters worse, this company reached out personally to larger companies who were owed payments yet left smaller sellers hanging out to dry. Unfortunately, unless you were a preffered larger company doing business on thir platform, you did not find out until the Monday afternoon following. Of course, this was only after the FDIC guaranteed accounts above the 250K limits. Avoid this unscrupulous company!

bought mixer rack - the 2 legs did not match. because they did not match, cross bar would not attached. Sold as Excellent condition however, heavy scratches on all sides. Impossible to get the help needed for exchange or refund. Stuck with a piece of garbage which could only be used as a boat anchor.

I asked for my account to be deleted and I will never go back there again. even with the deletion of the account is a problem do not comply with the law of the European Union. if you don't want trouble don't buy or sell there!

Australians -- and quite likely buyers from most other countries -- should NOT use Reverb anymore. Period. Over the years I have had shaky experiences with Reverb. The last week has been a game-changer, and I will never buy from them again. This is not just a comment on my experience. This affects buyers everywhere. I bought a guitar from the USA. We know what that looks like. We see a price, we see a shipping price, we see a total price. We click, we pay. Apart from leaving positive feedback for the seller when it arrives, that should be the end of the buyer's involvement in the transaction. It is called buying something in "good faith". However, the seller advises that they now cannot proceed with the transaction using Reverb. They could get quotes for FedEx and DHL, which greatly exceeded the cost of the guitar (which in itself was not a cheap one). But they cannot see any UPS or USPS options. I have done this many times, so offer some advice, but there seems to be something wrong at Reverb's end. So I contact them in chat. This is the summary. If Reverb wants to counter these comments, they should remember that they have sent me the chat transcript, so I reserve the right to reveal those comments. The take-away from the chat session is this: *** Reverb do not now offer USPS or UPS shipping to Australia (and, presumably, elsewhere) *** They will not tell you this. They will not tell the seller this. You will simply see a shipping price which corresponds to the shipping rates for, say, USPS (to the dollar!), but they -- and only they -- are fully aware they cannot honour it. I mention that this amounts to fraud. They knowingly present a total cost that is WAAAAYYYYYYYYY cheaper than what they can offer. Acting in "good faith", we have already bought the item and paid for shipping. For Reverb, that "good faith" amounts to nothing. They got extremely detailed about how I could cancel the order. But I wanted the guitar. Yet cancellation seemed to be the favoured response from Reverb. But there's more. The dialogue with the rep revealed contradictions. First they said that Reverb no longer offers USPS or UPS. That sounds like a Reverb issue, right? Later in the discussion they said: "USPS no longer ship to Australia at this time". Ohhhhhh... So now it is a USPS (and, by implication) a UPS issue!!! It is, of course, an outrageous fabrication. When I point to the contradiction and ask which of these stories is true, they try and merge them, saying that Reverb no longer offer USPS/UPS services because those services are no longer provided by USPS/UPS. The deceit is getting worse. I also pointed out that this practice is fraudulent as they are making an item a lot cheaper than it is to buy -- AND -- the extra costs only appear AFTER the purchase has been made!!! They said they should probably change that! Oh? Ya think? Derr. But there is a final contradiction in the meandering story of why it is OK for them to perpetrate fraudulent pricing. The Reverb rep states that the seller should go to USPS and sort out their own shipping. Two things. First, I have already paid for the shipping. How has the buyer's role unexpectedly changed to one where the purchase marks the start of some hidden 2nd phase in the transaction? Second, this is yet another contradiction. The rep stated that USPS does not deliver to Australia at this time. BUT then suggests that the seller go to USPS to negotiate shipping to Australia!!! This can only be incompetence or fraud. Actually, no. The reality is that it appears to be *both*. My guess is that Reverb has some beef with UPS and USPS and so have refused to offer their services. But they still use their rates to make sales appear more attractive. The buyer proceeds in "good faith". All we know is that we are buying something, shipping costs added to the total. The seller is also acting in "good faith". They are simply using what Reverb provides as tools for the seller. Reverb is the only party that seems to think that acting in "good faith" is a meaningless concept. The entire job of Reverb is to be an intermediary. But they stink at it. Clearly. Why would anyone use an intermediary that makes things more difficult (and more expensive) for buyers and sellers all acting in "good faith"? This started a few days ago, and the lure of cheap, unavailable shipping rates has not been addressed. They have also failed to advise buyers and sellers of the mess they have created for them. You buy and you sell, and THEN you are thrown into this stew of indefensible nonsense -- but only AFTER the fact. Two weeks prior I bought another guitar from an online shop in the USA. Shipping was calculated automatically and was a very reasonable price. I pressed the right buttons, the sale went through and shipping honoured. REVERB CANNOT DO THIS! But will charge extra for it anyway!!! Do as you wish, but I would suggest buying elsewhere. Without their exorbitant fees which they charge for stuffing everything up, you will probably get a better price anyway, and the service will most likely be perfect -- as I have found quite a few times. End result? Sale cancelled. No response from Reverb yet. They don't really care anyway, obviously. Reverb abondoned us. And they seem content in that decision. It's time to return the sentiment and go elsewhere. Direct-to-store/seller works for me. There is also eBay (Reverb took off from being better than eBay but now the roles have switched), craigslist, various forums (have used Facebook Marketplace a few times), Gumtree...
