Last night I witnessed appalling antisocial behaviour from Saxtons which extremely disappointed me as a member of the Chelmsford community. A group of at least 7 Saxtons boys were throwing eggs and other items at the cars and vans parked on the Volkswagen outdoor gallery next to the Saxtons building. Under the Criminal Damage Act 1971, this is blatant vandalism and criminal damage to property. I cannot believe how foolish and immature these boys were behaving and in broad daylight! I'm sure other members of the public must have video footage but I advise Volkswagen to view their CCTV footage, as well as requesting McDonalds and Saxtons own. The Saxtons boys should be suspended immediately. They have completely proven the Saxtons culture. As a long supporting member of the Chelmsford community, I knew there was something fishy about this dealer, but this behaviour is completely outrageous.

Bought a car 6 months ago, had issues during the warranty period, went into saxtons to get fixed and saxtons didn’t repair correctly and now my turbo has gone and saxtons are refusing to repair it.

Avoid at all costs. They had arranged to buy my car, at the time they were due to collect rang me to say they weren’t coming and if I didn’t move it to another day would just cancel the purchase! After I’d taken a day off work to deal with the sale.

Terrible place known for its false advertising and poor service. I feel I had a lucky escape after paying a deposit on a car, for them to then say they had decided that it was not to the standard to sell. After investigating further, found that they had once had the car but had sold it before I put the deposit down. Please note they are still advertising this car on multiple sites. Their sales people had spent a week trying to get me to come in and see all their cars before telling me that I could no longer buy the car I had a deposit on. Looking through the reviews, it is very much hit and miss if you are lucky or not. However do you want to risk this when spending tens of thousands. Avoid avoid avoid. A glossy showroom does not guarantee you get what you pay for.

My fiance and I had a terrible experience with Saxton 4x4 on 16.02.22 to see Mercedes GLC 2019. Called them first to check if the car is still available and one of their team called Daniel confirmed that it is. First of all, we have been waiting to be seen for 1.5h by Daniel, after that time we asked at reception how much longer we need to wait for the response was that they thought Daniel had already seen us.. Once Daniel finally arrived, we have been informed the car is at a different location so we had to wait for another long time with no updates from their seller Daniel. When finaly car arrived, we did view the car however when we asked for the test drive, Daniel has said 'we don't do test drives here' which we found very strange to sell cars and do not offer test drives.. and on top of that on their website, it says that Saxton 4x4 offer test drives. Looks like Daniel was not interested to sell the car to us at all. From the beginning, he did not take us seriously, and we felt that he doesn't want to serve us at all. When he finally brought the papers for the car, he showed us the price on their website which was £32,750 when we found that car on Autotrader as well as Gumtree (it wasn't on their website at that time) the price was £31,199. When asked about that he went to check with his manager and confirmed that the price was discounted and not updated on their website and the correct price is £31,199. He said that this car was reserved and then not sold due to the finance not being approved and then discounted. Once we said that we want to buy a car, but want to do a test drive before, suddenly, it turned out that we can do the test drive which we did and all went fine. During the test drive Daniel, also said that he knows what happen with the price and explained to me that there was some confusion around its milage and that's why the price was wrong however confirmed it is £31.199. After the test drive, we said that we want to buy this car, Daniel took my details and said that it will take a few minutes. We were happy that after that long time at least we found the car we wanted. He came back after a few minutes and informed us that price is actually £32.750. We were shocked that he confirmed the price 2 or even 3 times and after us being there 5 hours with the 1-year-old baby he now changing the price! After I started to explain that it was really frustrating that we were waiting 5 hours there and that he confirmed the price it suddenly changed. I asked to speak with the manager and Daniel became very nervous and rude towards me. He was trying to avoid me speaking to his manager and even called me being rude... After 5 minutes Daniel invited me to the office and the finance manager/director named Andy met me there. He tried to explain that they cannot monitor the prices on Autotrader and Gumtree as they are external websites however how come they are advertising their cars on those marketplaces and cannot monitor prices... Daniel was with us in the room and he kept interrupting me when I was trying to explain my side of the story which again I found very rude. In the end, the conversation with the manager was pointless, the matter was not resolved, and we did not even hear sorry. Instead, they could only blame us for not making the appointment (despite not being made aware that we need to). The team at Saxton 4x4 made a mistake with the price and we were the only ones who suffer from this. Wasted 5 hours there, with no food, 4 hours driving and ending up in the massive traffic as visit took that long, all of that with 1-year-old baby, overall visit caused a lot of stress and at the end not even bought the car and only reason for this is their behavior towards us and the whole situation that was only their fault. They are proud of their great customer service and positive feedback which clearly is not great at all. Never experienced anything like this in any other dealership. Better avoid that place..

They now won’t refund my £500 deposit claiming a no refund policy which they never clarified to me in the first place!!! Absolutely disgusting behaviour! I will need to pay a solicitor to fight my case now!!! A Company that doesn’t refund you a deposit??? Unheard of!!!! My advice is don’t even go near them!!!

Kenan (Handover) and Konrad (Sales) are a couple of liars and thugs. They would go to any length to dupe you and get the car and you off their forecourt. They will lie to you, falsify facts and promise you the world and when it comes to delivering on their promise, they will simply renege on what they have said. Please please please ensure you record the entire handover process, test drive the car and read everything thoroughly including checking the service history of the car before signing any paperwork as you simply cannot trust these bunch of liars. They say all the good things you want to hear but hide the real facts. Whilst I am privileged and will be taking these con artists to court, I would want to warn you as I know, not everyone will be this privileged. Incident: Booked a Range Rover online worth 41,200 on 27th November 2021 and was told the car is being serviced (later they claim it was already serviced on 24th November 2021) and is under preparation and will be ready on 1st December 2021 for pickup. Then on the day, got a call just before I was to leave to collect the car that it was not ready and to wait until next day. So next day on the collection day, was told by Kenan that they have a 14 days no questions asked return policy for all cars as he would not allow a test drive saying it was dark. I have 2 witnesses with me who heard and understood the same on that as well. Then to pile up the pressure said there are 2 other buyers in the queue if I was not to buy the car that day. He then rushed the paperwork not giving me sufficient time to go through everything sighting closure time and/or other appointments. In that time he would also ask you to leave a review for him. On the way driving home found that the Car had an airbag light fault, had the wheel tracking completely out and the break pads were squeaking when brakes applied. Called Kenan next day and was told the airbag light was a sensor issue and would be sorted, the tracking would be sorted by wheel alignment and the break pads were new so were squeaking. Whilst checking the paperwork a couple of days later found that it showed last service was done back in Mar 2020, a year and 9 months ago! Asked Konrad but got no answer for a day and then when I chased next day he sent a screenshot reflecting the same service history - he had no clue! So to be safe, got a service booked with the dealers and it transpired that one of the tyres is below the recommended tread depth of 3mm, the front break pads are not new and worn and the rear suspension bushing will need replacement soon plus there is rust under the car. When raised all these issues saying wanted to return the car under the 14 days returns policy, was told by KENAN that he did not offer that and even said that he did not say the break pads were replace or were new - LIAR! Top management are also complicit in these practices. Their attitude and response is as follows and I quote clearly demonstrating their disregard towards safety and quality of their products and no sense of any customer service experience whatsoever! ‘All tyres are above legal limit and whilst the inner of one tyre is less than three mm the measurement is taken as an average across the centre three quarters of the tyre to determine whether the tyre is above or below the required thresholds. In this instance all tyres are above the 3mm recommended tread depth. All brakes are above legal limits. At no point did Kenan state that we would fit new pads or that new pads were causing the squeaking. Kenan confirmed that if the pads needed replacing when the vehicle was inspected then we would do that. We do not change all pads on all vehicles if they do not need it. Bushes are reported as worn as it is a second hand vehicle and they might need replacing soon. However, LR do say this would likely be at the next service date and the item is not marked as urgent.‘ They charge a premium price and handover substandard products! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Worst buying experience of my life ! I bought a Porsche GT3RS for £140,000 don’t forget the all-important £199 buying fee (which they said they couldn’t take off.) But very kindly gave me a three month limited warranty !?! Joke ! To cut an extremely long story short. I traded in a Audi RS5 which was extremely low mileage 23k (Half the average )but I told them initially it had done slightly less. Anyway before I got to the dealership I told them the exact mileage and wasn’t willing to pay any more as I knew I was already paying well over the odds. I also learnt the car was advertised as 2016 but registered November 2015 but anyway not an apology nor any discount but foolishly I went ahead purely because I wanted left-hand drive. This was after three or four argumentative emails about my car having slightly higher mileage so I said please return my deposit if you are no longer want to go ahead with the deal they obviously said no please come to collect your car. But Irrelevant to that conversation they sat me down and totally insulted my intelligence using cheap sales tactics with sales managers saying they needed another £2000 to deal after me categorically saying before I arrived I would not pay any more! The atmosphere was horrible even the salesman felt very uncomfortable in his own workplace. They told me they would not be able to sell the car for more than 45K but it was advertised at 50k the week after. After the pantomime I was given the keys and I left. I was also told it had full service history but to learn it never had a major service in its life only cheap oil services. They told me before collection the car would be sent to Porsche to be serviced to have whatever was due but obviously they opted in for the cheaper oil service. I paid £1280 days after I got it back at Porsche Wilmslow for a top up service to cover what hadn’t been done. When I asked for some contribution obviously you know the answer they just argued saying (we never said that) I just wish I’d of read these poor comments before I bought my car. Great looking dealership but run like a backstreet garage. Very very poor and unprofessional. NEVER AGAIN!!

terrible experience Dealt with Nathan who seemed really nice until near to collection People in the office didn’t know much about cars The car was 5 months late with its major service and they weren’t even going to service it before sale Then a major service was not done for the day of collection We put a deposit down and sorted the finance and ready to collect and then told it only had one key (a week after deposit paid) Was told there were some major stone chips that’s were sorted We decided to go up and get it (3 hour drive) We arrived to a car Missing a wheel cap Kirb damage Lots of paint damage Damage to the plastic near the door Told it is what it is Nathan didn’t feel any of this lol as relevant to tell me about before we drove over to collect Complete waste of time basically and it seems they are so cocky with swelling cars that their customers experience doesn’t matter Told he’ll sell it tomorrow anyway Very disappointed Would not recommend

BE WARNED *** NOT A JOKE GUYS ** YOU WILL LOSE OUT, BE OUT OF POCKET & THE ADDED STRESS, NOT WORTH IT. WOULD NEVER purchase a car from these guys. If your looking to part with money for a decent working hassle free car.. then try a main dealer. Paid 70k for a used 3 year old range rover, had it for 6 weeks, and from week 2, been nothing but a massive headache. Trying to get hold of Saxton service department is a headache in its self. Heading towards legal matters. BE WARNED AND AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Shiny cars with a lot of hidden issues undet the hoods it seems. Willing to to posting all reports & diagnostics from all 4 companies, and all 4 have stated the issue was there prior to ua buying the car. They state they do checks on car, what check are done if the car has serioues major faults.

My friend and I went to buy a car, the first day we went to view it they told us it wasn’t ready, we wasted 1hour 20 mins. A Few days later we went back again and this time we were told to wait 30 minutes as the car was not ready yet, we waited more than 1 hour yet the car was still not ready. When we finally got to see the car it was in an awful state, it was very dirty inside & on the outside. The salesman Congrad had informed us that the car has apple car play. Just before all the paperwork, We thought of trying the apple car play however the Apple car play was not working. He then said he doesn’t know why it wasn’t working and that he assumed his car has it so this car should have it aswell. We then said we won’t be going through with the purchase of the car but thank you for the help. He then became very aggressive, and had said ‘you wasted my bloody time, you won’t be getting your £100 deposit back’ we stayed silent and had asked to speak with his manager. He then said he is the manager(lied). We finally got to speak to the actual manager named “Mergim”. He told us we won’t be getting our deposit back. As we were walking away Congrad had came outside, to have a physical fight. He had pushed my friend a couple times and then moments later the whole team including the manager Mergim had came outside and we were physically attacked by all the staff members. The Police were called, filed a report. We’ll be speaking to a solicitor on Monday.

Worst buying experience ever when purchasing a car. I purchased a Range Rover Vogue SE at a very expensive price, unfortunately the service received was not reflective of the price. Firstly I received a very low trade in price that I was not happy at but proceeded anyway, at this point I should have withdrawn. The sales procedure was difficult as I was told they were short staffed and negotiating resulted in a WhatsApp conversation?? This is new to me. The prices and services offered were very much at a take it or leave it level, never dealt with such an inflexible company. As this was a distance sale I relied upon Saxton’s honesty in terms of car condition. I was promised the car was immaculate with a full years MOT. Unfortunately the car was far from immaculate and had been rush prepped at the last minute. I will list the issues found with the car after I got home and started inspecting the vehicle closer. Extremely poor paint work to hide cosmetic issues, they have sprayed all round the car with non metallic black paint, looking close is horrific and also has runs. Front drivers tyre had a large bulge in the side wall, this needed replaced immediately, they also allowed me to leave with an unsafe car to travel home on a motorway over 400 miles. The spare tire is flat with a rusty nail through it. The general cleanliness inside was an absolute joke, there was chocolate stains all over the back seats and centre console from the last owners, there was. Also food debris in pillars which had gone mouldy, the side door panels were stained, the sunroof cover is stained. The battery is needing replaced. I also need new suspension bushes. I am sure there was more issues. So you may be wondering why I accepted the car in this state, after a 400 mile drive to pick the car up I was very tired, the car also at a normal overview looked ok, until you start inspecting detail. The hand over was also an absolute joke, after driving all that way I was left in the showroom for over 40 mins. After this wait I was taken into the offices and made to sign all the paperwork again for some strange reason. I was also charged a retainer for not having a v5c, I was not happy about this, anyhow they charged an additional £500, the annoying this about this is they never had my V5C, how disgusting, could I charge them a retainer @?. I at this point was also assured all additional work had been carried out, e,g ceramic coat and under seal protection. The ceramic seal was potentially carried out, hard to say but the under seal was not. After under sealing several cars you know when it’s been done, I complained about this several times to no avail. After the paper work was signed I was given the keys and that was it !! After wandering about I finally found my car, no sales man to show me where it was or a walk round, nothing !! Never had a hand over like it. The bottom line is….. yes you can get a car from Saxton a few thousand cheaper but there is a reason it’s cheaper, they cut every corner in vehicle prep, charge you for services not carried out and also give you a poor trade in price for your car. I strongly suggest if you want piece of mind to go to a proper dealership where the appropriate checks are taken place and you will receive the proper customer care that’s needed when making a large purchase like this. I am also sure I will get some smart comment by saxton below making out I should phone them to resolve my issues, well I can assure you I tried this and they simply do no care, they have my money and that’s all that matters to them !! Absolutely disgusted from start to finish. Avoid at all costs.
