You will regret going with Scottish Power. Please avoid! There customer service is awful, inaccurate bills, and unable to deal with complaints. My experience has been incredibly stressful. I'm surprised they still are in business..

Absolutely appalling!!! I have been with Scottish Power, and it's predecessor in my area Manweb, for decades. A year ago, I changed Scottish Power accounts to get a better deal. Over a year later, I still cannot submit meter readings because "my account is still in the process of being changed over." Received a shock after a year as my monthly payments went up by almost £200!!! In a household with three disabled people, all on benefits, this was a hit we struggled to take. Decided to change over to Octopus Energy after being treated like something left on the bottom of a shoe after you'd stepped in something. Scottish Power demanded a payment of £470.49 to clear my debit. I dug into my meagre savings to pay this just so I could escape the grasping claws of this completely inept company. They billed me TWICE!!! Called customer services and they said take it up with my bank. My bank said that Scottish Power should deal with it. Called SP customer services again just now (12:15pm) and they are "closed" Never, never, never use this company. You will get burned badly and end up losing a lot of money. If I could give zero stars I would

Terrible service. I've tried to change my tariff to direct debit and change to dual fuel since March. I've made around six calls to sort this out and each time they've messed it up. Sending me letters to pay. Even though I've set up the direct debits (finally) no payment was taken so another call today. Different payment amounts everytime. What the hell are they doing!

Terrible service - complete shambles And I can’t even leave them as they can’t set up my account - yet still sending payment reminders!

Not even 1 star for this Spanish owned, aggressive bully boy company. AVOID.

One of the worst compsnies ive had the pleasure to deal with in 36 years of business. Owned by a large Spanish conglomurate, an agressive approach to business, are right until proven wrong attitude.. I never chose them, but they took over a company i was using, went insolvent... Do yourself a favour, avoid the stress of using this compsny in my experience.. Use Bulb, and others with good reviews, ... I dont have to write reviews, but in this instance i feel i have to warn others of their obnoxious approach..... i can imagine an older person being intimidated by their approach to business....I eventually sorted them out, they backed down once they realised they were dealing with an experienced business person... Use at your own perill...

I moved to a new house first time with my partner the 10th of June. We received a bill from 1st of May to 8th of June to MY NAME despite I wasn't living there in May. After 1 hour of calls, I am told to forget about it because I do not have to pay that. That is okay, anyone makes mistakes. Now, we received the June bills and... surprise: letter says we still must pay the May bill! So I wasted 1 hour for nothing and I still "have to pay" that bill. Then I have called again and the answer is I will have to call again in a few days to confirm they are cancelling the May bill and recalculating my bill. Dissapointing, time waster and non-professional. You will fing this review in other websites and social media. Bye!

Absolutely diabolical company. Ripped off a vulnerable pensioner 89 years old by closing down his current account (by accident!), keeping the £432 in that account, that was due to end. Opening another account without his permission then sending demands for 12 months payment of over £1200.00. An absolute disgrace of a company! 3 months complaining, letters, emails only to be fobbed off, ignored then sending out more demands for payments for a fictitious account. The stress they have placed on a couple of pensioners in their late 80’s, forcing them to pay bills they have not used. They ought to be struck off from trading..

Made payment a day after providing my meter reading and receiving my bill. I received my receipt for payment as usual. A week after payment, I received a threatening letter from Director of customer service demanding that I settle my account or failure to do so will result in my details being passed onto to debt collectors. Imagine being chased up & threatened with a possible CCJ for a non existing debt, that is revolting.

Do not give them your hard earn money. There are many other providers, none of which can be as appalling as these. Happily take your money on over-inflated estimates, even though you provide regular meter readings which they deem to be too low so ignore. Try getting any over payments out of them, its a ridiculous process even having successfully complained to the ombudsman. Nearly a year of banging my head against a brick wall;l and still no closer to a resolution. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

I am utterly disgraced at the service i have recieved or shall i say not recieved . Left waiting for 2 weeks with no gas and we have a CHILD not to mention i am disabled aswell , they have constantly given me false times and promises that a engineer will be out to sort it and low and behold no one turned up and then same the next day and the next and the next! And so on , still 2 weeks in no one has showed up . We are desperate for it to be sorted as we have no hot water or no heating apparently we are priority ? I wouldnt like to know how long non priority clients are made to wait . The constant lies and false promises are enough for me to never ever use scottish power again it is shocking how a company can be run of lies and such poor communication. The reviews on here and trust pilot paint the exact picture of what you are about and its nothing to be proud of . We as a family are hearbroke and feel like we have been mistreated and left to just deal with no gas when we are paying customers how is this even possible? Stay well away from SCOTTISH POWER they are a absolute disgrace to say the least. I am switching providers immediatley . Good ridance and i hope other people switch to someone who actually communicates with there customers in a reasonable manner and does not lie .

Haven't lived in my flat for 3 months, I have evidence of the drastic drop in my flat's energy consumption and I can even pull up CCTV footage that I was not living in my flat if I need to. But I was recently slapped with a £137 monthly electricity bill for a one bedroom flat that has not been lived in for 3 months. I'm trying to sort the problem out with Scottish power but before solving the problem they've already sent me a letter saying they will send debt collectors. Extortionists. I'm a student, I can't afford stupidly overpriced electricity. Such a terrible company.

This is the only time I have written a review. I have to admit I am shocked by the negative reviews. They do not go far enough.....a truly appalling company who have no consideration for their customers based on my experience. I am disappointed that I have had to give one star to write a review. Please please please do not consider using this company, even if they are offering a price at half what you would pay elsewhere, you will pay more in the end. Appalling

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! It has been a constant battle for over 3 weeks to get a direct debit payment returned to myself which they had taken out in error. Scottish Power have taken 2 DD payments from me and have told me to claim it back through the bank. I have been on the phone to my bank 3 times for this indemnity claim. An indemnity claim Scottish Power instructed me to do. Then they refuse the payment and reclaim it back three times. I had made an indemnity claim got my money returned and Scottish Power compensated me £40, then a few days later my dd had been reclaimed. Scottish Power reclaimed a payment they told me to get an idemnity claim for. I called them again and they said to me to apply for indemnity claim again and they will give me £25 compensation which I refused! For the second time done the indemnity claim and Scottish Power again rejected it. Yesterday was the third time I have done an indemnity claim which again is unsuccessful. Scottish power stated they will give me the refund but are calling it compensation as they have already paid out £40. They are calling money that is rightfully mine compensation. They are acting as though they are doing me a favour. I didn't need this headache I just want my money returned. It shouldn't be this hard and shouldn't be costing me money in phone bills sitting 30 minutes at a time waiting for the bank to answer my call. The company are ruthless they have no compassion I have an autistic child to look after and they are causing me more stress. I have been fighting them for 3 weeks to get money they have stolen from my account. I have complied in every way with them and they are calling my money a goodwill gesture. GOODWILL GESTURE IS NOT RETURNING MONEY YOU STEAL FROM CUSTOMERS!!! Absolutely disgusting company stay away they will steal your money and blame the customer for there mistakes. I'd rather pay more money to another provider than be treated this way.

I was £137 in credit so started to pay £5 for the summer months instead of £55. Scottish Power did not like this because they like to accrue large sums of cash from the customer; then the customer has to go through the stress of clawing back what is 'in credit'. Scottish Power then upped my electric bill overall by cobbling together two sums - the meter and tariff science is no more than a cheap racket. After writing to the CEO, they admitted they had had responded poorly but could still not advise which meter reading number I key in on my online account: Rate 1 or Rate 4. The meter readings never seem incorrect when they are taking too much, only when they take to little. In fact I have no faith in Scottish Power at all, it appears that all the Energy companies are rotten to the core.
