Absolute rubbish customer services i am in credit but if i want credit back my monthly direct debit goes up by over £150.00 per month shame you can't you minus stars -20 would be great

Dreadful company and I would not recommend them to anyone. Increased my direct debit despite being in credit by over £700. Tried to contact them but totally impossible. Phone is automatically cut off. Used online chat tool and gave up waiting after 2 hours. Noticed that they actually replied after 16 hours, as if I'm going to wait around for that. Utterly useless company.

I cant stress enough how awful Scottish Power are, the WOST providers ive ever been with. Been trying to contact someone now for 2 days, been without gas with my 2 small children for 4 days now. Someone said they'd call me back yesterday, had no phone call back and since been trying to contact them to sort the issue out. The advisor didnt help me at all and didnt seem bothered about my issue and didn't want to help. If anyone knows how to switch providers, please let me know! I'm almost in tears about this. I've been trying to top up via the app however the payments dont seem to be transferring to the meter and just keeps saying i owe £12 on my meter. I cant have a hot shower neither put my heating on and i have 2 young kids in the house. Scottish power dont seem to be helping me, their online chat is useless and may aswell be none exsistant.

same as all the other review they set me a standing order of 90 pound since 3 years, later with no sense they charged me of 325 every month for some kind of debit that doesnt exist!! hours and hours of waiting and they make it difficult to terminate my contract plus now I have to pay a crazy amount of "debit" just to swich to another company

I have been with Scottish power for years, diabolical service will be switching asap. Impossible to get a human on the phone they have been charging me for a debt I dont have and will not reimburse me would not reccomend this company at all.

Absolutely dreadful company. They are massively overcharging my direct debits. I have a large balance in credit but still want to put my direct debit up and won’t refund balance. I tried calling them and was left on hold for ages only to be played a pre recorded message saying they were too busy to answer and call was cut off. I have emailed them and had no response. I tried their live chat via app. There is no option to ask to speak to someone. Just bot responses. Had to choose every option until I discovered the only way to get a person to respond is to hit the “Refund” option. Was left over 12 hours without a response. When they finally did respond they ended the conversation because I didn’t see the response til over 20 minutes after they sent it. I used live chat again and again waited overnight for a response. I told them I was going into a meeting and not to cut the chat off if I didn’t respond while in the meeting. They said they can only allocate 20 mins response time. They finally agreed to reduce my direct debit a little bit but said they couldn’t refund me the credit as they would need to put the direct debit up further. I asked for the name of their communications director and a postal address so I could make a formal complaint about their appalling communications system. They didn’t provide either they just sent me a link to their website which told me to call the same number they won’t answer on or speak to the live chat which I was already doing. Eventually they raised a complaints reference number and told me that a complaints handler will email me or call (not holding my breath). I checked their app whilst still in live chat and the agreed direct debit reduction had not been applied. I asked when it will be updated and was told not until the complaints handler had been in touch with me as they will have to reassess!!! Unlike other energy suppliers who are applying the credit to the energy account they are refunding the government energy rebates to bank accounts using the direct debit mandate. I’ve worked out this is to stop people cancelling direct debits who cannot get their credit refunded. Absolute arrogance and do not care about their customers. They do not have a fit for purpose complaints system in contravention of UK regs. They really should not be licensed to operate. As soon as I have received the full energy rebate I will be switching suppliers to a company who actually understand that their customers pay their salaries. My advice is - NEVER SIGN UP WITH SCOTTISH POWER. Worst company I’ve ever had to deal with. I will be contacting my MP, Ombudsman and consumer media about this. How older and vulnerable people are expected to deal with this dreadful online only communications system is beyond me.

Not pragmatic at all, as soon as you submit a meter read there calling you the next day to pay & consistently pestering you, goes to show how much money these people are making for them to have a member of staff to do so, when you need them 2 hour wait time on the phone. AVOID!

I have called them so many times,used the chat and emails in vain, got through to their call centre today after one hour waiting, was put on hold for a while then got told they're having smart meter issues today. I kept insisting my issue been there for 3 weeks since my smart meter was installed but they did nothing to help. As iam writting this my gas went off around 6pm and my worry now is my electricity on meter is getting low. I have tried top up so many times since Saturday in vain, will have to choose staying cold again and staying in darkness tomorrow or going to work to earn a living, it is absurd.

Absolutely dire customer service. Spent over 12 hours waiting for responses on chat options in two different places for them to end chat after I didn’t respond in 3 minutes or just stop responding after asking name and account details. Impossible to contact. Want to triple my DD when I spending less according to smart meter. Don’t waste your time with these imbeciles.

I wish I never signed up to Scottish Power they're the worst energy supplier I ever used. I was set up on DD monthly at £90 then they increased it to £121 without informing me then tried to take £300. I cancelled DD spoke to a Heather who said I had arrears not sure how when paid monthly. Then I was set up again psying £150 for both monthly and £50 arrears then they just switched me over to PAYG and I am now spending much more than initially. I hate this Company, they dont care about customersand are a bunch of crooks. I AM GOING BACK TO BRITISH GAS.DONE WITH ALL THESE ENERGY COMPANIES.

I can only echo what has been written previously - I had no choice but to commence a gas supply with this company as they provide gas to the address I moved into. Despite them only supplying gas they insist that I owe them for electricity also. You have to join a queue to log into your online account. The phone number they provide doesn't take calls. Their 'Bot' is useless and the on-line operator takes so long to respond to my messages that I've either given up or gone to bed. Appalling service, avoid this company at all cost.

Four years trying to sort out mistakes on bills . Estimated readings put down when we have submitted readings money not being taken off when their estamated bills are wrong stress levels are through the roof . I set up direct debit for £ 99.50 a month, then I got a bill for more than twice the amount I had used, they had estimated my bill even though I gave them a meter reading the day I moved in . When I spoke to someone at Scottish Power they said there was not a direct debit setup and to set it up at over £200 a month ,I only used £72 they are money grabbing.One question why is electricity so expensive if all your electric is renewable, what as the cost of gas got to do with renewable energy? We are all been ripped off ☹

You are all uncaring idiots offering no customer service whatsoever. After two hours wait abusive agent in CAPETOWN South Africa gave me abuse having never missed paying a bill in 30 years. South Africa. Are you kidding me. You really need to take notice of all these negative reviews and up your game. I am absolutely furious with all of you. Shame on all of you !!!!

Complete con. Tariff rates are not detailed or explained anywhere. Customer service, both my phone and web chat is literally a non-existent dead end. I'll be going to Ofgem to form an official complaint. I'll also be bombarding their Smart Meter line too (who claim not to have any contact with customer service) on 0800 158 2092 - if you are experiencing similar problems then please do the same. IF YOU AREN'T A CUSTOMER ALREADY PLEASE AVOID AND SAVE YOURSELVES!!
