Unless you'd like to spend your time on the phone to a useless and unhelpful company whilst spending more money than necessary avoid!

I have had problems in the past with Scottish Power but in the last few years they really do seem to have made considerable improvements in customer service and I am glad I stayed with them.

These people know every trick in the book, been conned three times now. DO NOT USE THEM they will give you sleepless nights, as they have to me.

It is impossible to get any sensible answers from anyone connected with this company. They completely ignore anything I say, they just keep demanding money which I do not owe them, and making veiled threats as to how they will extract it from me. A shocking example of fraudulent practice, typical of power companies. They need to be investigated and stopped!

New customer! They’ve set up three accounts all incorrect! Now they are trying to charge me for the previous owners bill by putting my name on their account when you can clearly see it how’s back years before we bought the property! Fuming I’m going to British Gas!

Scottish power are without a doubt the worst company I've ever had to try to speak to,resolve a complaint with,and the most frustrating set of incompetent mixed set of people ever i don't know how they are still trading,I'm now 5 yes 5 years trying to sort out an account that they sold to British gas without my knowledge or request I couldn't even begin to explain all the shear inconvenience involved,BEWARE STAY AWAY FROM SCOTTISH POWER!!!!!

Dreadful company worst I've ever dealt with. Taken money from my bank account that wasn't authorized. Staff are extremely rude and unhelpful. Never answer complaints. Do yourselves a favour and avoid this amateur company that will rob you blind.

What a crappy company over charged bills , promised a fixed deal for a year which was not true , terrible customer service, empty promises , I’ve had workers shout at me over the phone and hung up , refused to log complaints , stay away from this company 😡😡😡😡😡😡

After spending nearly two months waiting for someone to get back to my calls, I eventually set up an account. My house was a new build and the handover between the builders and SP was taking forever. Eventually i got through to someone ( 2 months after we started ) and was ready to close the account. However, a nice gentleman managed to keep me as a customer due to his apologoes and agreement that charges a to me would only start from that day. Unfortunately, the £177 credit for the 2 months of messing around is still being disputed as there are no notes on the account, despite the credit oroginally being visible on a bill! Noone at SP will accept responsibility and instead continue to hold me accountable. I suspect they were just going to hold the building company to account and that they have also refused to pay - but that's not my problem. Customer service is shocking and I continue to get irate over it all. Can't wait to switch!

Awful Company!!! We moved into a flat that had Scottish Power as gas and electric supplier. From day 1 we had to call for bills each time or were surprised with £000's of charges - we asked for an account to be set up online and to date (6 months) we have not been able to log in. This is despite raising several tickets for help resetting the password and being told 'well we can log in'..... staff are unhelpful and argumentative. We have just requested a switch and on the same day called for a postal bill to be sent to us. We paid this on the date it was received even though the due date was several weeks away, and yet receive an email from our new supplier that Scottish Gas has lodged an objection saying we have not paid them! Awful Awful company! need investigating because what they are doing isn't right.

Dredfull customer service, unable to resolve an issue caused by them. six months later they decide now is the time to resolve the issue, this followed weeks of emailing.

Did not complete switch over to them properly and left us with no gas or electricity for a wk, left me to arrange getting my power restored by myself. Then sent me a bill for my gas I'd supposed to of used during this period, their customers service advisors are rude and are quiet happy to call customers liers when they have all the proof in front of them you sent them in the first place

Disgrace of a company ripping people off. I joined them a year ago with the promise of a cheap deal but then after my contract was up with them they hit me with an extra bill of £480 which they claimed I had used even though I had been paying £150 for the last 5 months. I will never use these con merchants ever again & I hope they go out of business.

shame there isn't a 0 star option for this joke of a company. Not only do they double your monthly payments a couple of months in to your contract, at the end of the contract they will then say you owe them money. £229 for me....after paying 150 a month for a 2 bed property when I work full time! Someone will ring you from the complaints team and their attitude is horrendous. After reluctantly agreeing to set up a payment plan with them, and a promise of a £40 cheque being sent as a good will gesture....to my shock the full 229 was taken out of my account leaving me (8 month pregnant) and my son in a very vulnerable position!! Money I had put to one side so I could feed my family during the pandemic STOLEN FROM MY ACCOUNT. Another complaint... 'Sorry we have no records of the £40 cheque you we're promised' So I sent them the time, date and length of the call. 4th May, 12.03pm, 25 minutes long. We set up a payment plan and agreed a goodwill cheque of £40 would be with me in the next 2 weeks. Instead, I've had the full amount stolen and 'no record of the £40' No one can be bothered to get back to me after me sending email after email after email. CAN SOMEONE TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THIS LISTEN TO THE RECORDED CALL AND SEND ME THE MONEY I WAS PROMISED??????????

I had two major problems with them. 1. I have signed a contract and they overcharged me because they said it was a system failure and they put me on a standard tariff. 2. I had to pay twice for the same 150 KW. The same meter was overlay in two consecutive bills. After 3 months and 6 emails wrote to them was no progress. I had to move to another provider.

Monkeys could run a company better. Moved out of my flat and gave meter readings and to close account. Was told this account would be closed and a final billing sent to me. Nothing. Phoned 2 months later to be told my account was in debt and I must pay £x to close the account. Done this and was assured it was closed. Checked credit score - account still open. Phoned again. Told my account was in credit - need to send me a cheque to refund credit before closing account. Nothing through the post. Phoned again. Forgot to send this out. 1 month later was reimbursed. Got a second letter in the post to say accounts were finalised and closed. 3 months later - foreign call centre hounding me 4-5 times a day to pay my ‘debt’. Thought it was a scam because the nature of the call and how I was contacted was so shoddy and didn’t have any of my new details. Phoned SP to check this was a scam - to be told no and I’ll HAVE to pay this. All very aggressive, pushy, no explanations given and the complaints team were dismissive of the fact that they had made the mistake, not me, and did not take in to account how awful the whole handling of this process from start to finish has been and totally disregarded my complaint of harassment.

It deserves no stars if it was possible there are terrible avoid at all costs I've had nothing but threatening letters and endless phones trying to get money for a debt that isn't mine and I've tried sorting it out they hung up on me because it was nearly closing time and don't respond to my emails I'm filing a massive complaint with there ceo no happy one bit

Worst and most unhelpful customer service ever! Avoid this company at all cost!! I have been trying to reinstate my direct debit (which they cancelled god knows why!) for more than 2 months now! I have spoken with so many agents via chat and email and done everything they have asked me to do, including changing my tariff twice, and still no direct debit... How hard can it be to set up a direct debit??! Really!! The worse thing is that they keep telling me that they have set it up and that I will receive a confirmation email, and no email every single time, not even to tell me that the couldn't set it up. So I have to contact them again, and like this for more than 2 months. I have wasted so much on this, that I just want to switch companies ASAP!! Also, my bill changed from one day to the next after an agent "merged" some bills and it was £100 higher for no reason! They couldn't offer me a reasonable explanation for this... This is really the most appalling customer service I have ever experienced! If I could give 0 stars I would!
