Went to appointment as advised by pharmacist because I suffer from dry eyes. Tried to explain to optician but he just talked over me. Was abrupt and obviously in a hurry to get rid of me . Won’t go back to specsavers.

Tailor made variofocals costing around £340 around 120 days ago, distance is ok when looking staight ahead but reading is very hard work and the intermediate at arms lengh is about the width of my thumbnail I complained 3 times but they told me it was normal, last week started to learn computer but the screen is totally out of focus , I bought £3 specs from the pound shop and can see the whole thing, I feel completely ripped off now by specsavers , if these are top of their range I can't imagine what comes below. I hope my eyes aren't being made worse with glasses I can't afford to replace.

The supposed call centre answered my initial enquiry with kirt, blunt questions... I visited the Deal shop where I had good service although something I required wasn't available.. I travelled home as I didn't have my credit card with me, I tried to call three times over two hours each time receiving a message saying the phone cannot be answered.. I eventually got through to a woman who's manner was bordering on rudeness... I kept asking why the phone was not being answered, to which she kept talking over me saying 'date of birth' .... I think the management should be taking a serious view on this vital function for any business.. Colin Craddock 077203 72965

I feel totally let down by specsavers they couldn't do the glasses had chosen they couldn't get the lenses to fit them but gave me one of pair of glasses that could get lenses for which a six year old would no thank you, so I went to boots they phoned there lenses makers , yep they can do lenses and just choose the frames I wanted, all done , so specsavers I have been with you for 20 years +, so let down

Wish I hadn't gone to Specsavers, Arnison, Durham. An appalling optician. They took £285 for glasses, issued the wrong prescription and now simply don't want to know. Buyers Beware. A rogue outfit!.

Young Optician that I saw was very good and also one older woman who was helpful who then then disapeared to not be seen again during my visit. Lots of staff and no help! I did not know what was happening next other than being toldto sit in a seat and wait. There were mainly young/school leavers who looked bored who worked there. A young woman mumbled at me throughout an additional test I was having. I could not hear her. She just looked embarrassed and bored. Dance type music playing, and staff standing and chatting to each other about everything else other than work! Honestly the whole place was very unprofessional. I was left to choose frames, and when I needed help there was none. I ended up paying for the test, and then found that my prescription had not been included in the rest of the paperwork. I have no glasses and will go elsewhere. Complete waste of time. I will never return.

Bracing myself to return 2 pairs of varyfocals, can't read with them. I told them this on collection but they were paid for and I was told my eyes would 'adjust', what cowboys. Not the first time I've had problems with them, the optician is always pretty good, but they let idiots do the measurements, make the lenses and deal with aftercare. Not a GCSE between them. Totally p'd off. £175 for nothing. Looking up legal advice ready to know my rights.

Tried telephoning Kidderminster branch to book eye test and ear wax removal. 3 days on the trot waited 45minutes on hold and still no one answered ! What sort of business is that

Awful optician clearly does not like his job and is almost unresponsive to questions. I found him rude and curt , on the plus side the lady who served me afterwards was attentive and polite

Waiting for an at home appointment for a vulnerable 93 year old only to be told sorry we have run out of time. I had to wait weeks for the appointment had to call them for a time slot. I had to take time off for which I won't be paid. Hugely unimpressed.

Sec savers are the only optician where the glasses they supplied made my vision worse.

The eye test itself was good, but that's where it ended. I waited two weeks to get my glasses, which wasn't a problem. However, when they finally arrived, I couldn't see out of the left lens. They had put a minus prescription instead of a plus, so both pairs had to go back. There was no apology; they said it was apparently a typing error. I waited another two weeks for them to be redone. I ended up going back six times because the glasses kept sliding down my nose and were crooked. The last time was a complete joke. The assistant cut the arms on either side. By the time I got home from the shop, I had a headache. I switched to my old glasses, and the headache went away. I'm assuming I was looking out of the wrong part of my glasses and straining my eyes. I went back yet again and asked for a complete refund. The manager dealt with me. Apparently, I had also paid for an eye test even though I'm 62! I didn't know it was supposed to be free, to be honest, but they should have. I would have given them a zero rating if possible. Each time I went back, I felt like I was a burden to them, interrupting their group chats. Iv told a lot of my friends about my experience and most will not use them either. All they seem to be interested in is how much money they can get from you.. iv since been to asda got two lovely pairs of glasses for a fraction of the price and the service was impeccable. Restored my faith back into an optitions

My experience with Specsavers was horrendous, I thought I was the only one who had to go back to Specsavers 4 times because my varifocals weren’t right but reading through the reviews here I definitely am not the only person who wouldn’t go to Specsavers again. I’ve ended up getting two pairs of glasses (which I wanted to avoid) because they couldn’t get my varifocals right. And after paying out for frames and varifocals lenses, I had to pay more to change to having two pairs of glasses. When I asked about the two frames for the price of one I was told that that offer meant you could have two distance glasses or two reading glasses but not one of each!! What a big con! When it comes to cost they blind you with science and your glasses end up costing a lot more than you expected. No way will I go back to Specsavers! They should be prosecuted for false advertising.
