“I’d give no stars if I possibly could.
I have an exemption lanyard, and despite presenting it, was told that I was not allowed in the store. Just appalling discrimination! When I had to attend with my daughter for her eye appointment, again I was told I wasn’t allowed in the store even with my exemption lanyard. I’ll never use you again. Terrible way to treat a long time customer.”
“Well, I wish I had read the reviews before using Specsavers again. My reading glasses broke and as I was due an eye test I thought I could kill two birds with one stone and buy some new frames at the same time. It took 2 weeks for two pairs, one for reading one for driving to be ready BUT, neither were any good, my old lenses were fine, the new, I could not see a dam thing with. Was told to persevere for 2 weeks and see if they settled in, my dam eyes, stressed, struggling to see on the recommendation of an optician, ????? can't be right! 2 weeks later still can't see through them, eyes re-tested and prescription completely different, now a further wait until new ones can be made. Not a good service and for sure, being told to stick with glasses, through which I could not see, placing my eyes under strain, hmmmmmm doesn't seem the correct advice to me. Think twice before using again.”
“Don't seem to be able to put a lens into frame correctly. I have been back four times as lens is bulging out of frame on left eye, had two pairs made at same time other pair fine but just can't seem to get them to do a simple alteration to them as lens is slightly too big. It's obvious what's wrong but just keep getting told rubbish. They've tried again today and have made a gap at top of lens now so yet again I have to go back. Won't be using them again after this enough is enough not very professional. Newcastle branch.”
“My wife had a hearing aid fitted in Norwich and was advised to wear it for a fortnight to see how she got on with it. As she had had a chlestiotoma op previously she found that the aid was too uncomfortable in that particular ear so took them back to Specsavers who refunded her immediately with no problems. We are talking about £1950.00 so I am so impressed with this company.”
“HI I went to the local Walthamstow Specsavers the horrible try to impose to buy a kid frame which does not fit on his face on asked for other told me we do not have you have to use big one horrible services staff is so rude and untrained, Will never ever go will try the optical world,”
“These are my thoughts given on my experience at specsavers.
My first eye test revealed that both my eyes can wonder in opposite directions which is fact, however the Optician advised me to wear my new prescribed glasses all the time so I did that, after a few months I had been noticing changes with the strength of my eyes and concentrating was harder as my eyes could move around more. After a recent visit I had a test and my eyes have had a slight change so I have been given new lenses, The Optician then questioned how many times a day I would of usually worn the previous glasses, I told her all the time as that was advised to me and she was hesitant that I should not of been wearing them for normal day to day, just for when necessary eg: driving & reading. So with that I have been uncomfortable and it has also damaged my eyes over this time period. I was given false information and now I am considering eye surgery to fix the wondering. The Corona virus PPE was there and I felt safe but no extra lengths were seen example wiping surfaces? This experience has put me off going to Spec-savers unless I really need to. As something that was a small problem has now turned bigger and worsened my confidence. So I rate 2 stars for the PPE and new lenses. This was Hinckley branch”
“Went for an eye test during COVID rushed it through chose two pairs of glasses one reading one driving absolutely useless reverted back to my old ones had refund and they weren’t cheap £220 booked eye test with vision express will never go to spec savers again absolutely terrible”
“I've been going to Specsavers for years and never had a problem. I now have a pair of glasses that I bought last year and were adjusted 5 times between July and September. They still didn't fit properly but, as the Covid-19 case numbers started increasing at the end of last year, I didn't go back. I went to a different branch to try again two days ago and they still don't fit me properly. I think they've been adjusted so many times they just won't fit now. I'm really annoyed and I've wasted £300.”
“Have had to send the glasses back 3 times since February lenses not correct now having problems getting a full refund of £120 poor customer service will never use this company again
Should not have gone to Specsavers”
“Have been going to specsavers for years. Only issues have been with glasses not fitting properly. This time was informed my test was not due, but I knew my eyesight had deteriorated. I put it down to constant wearing of ppe. Had my test, felt rushed throughout, machine kept steaming up, was given a tissue to wipe it, but felt the test had been rushed and was worried about accuracy. Chose my new glasses, had a quick measurement, then was informed I had to choose express delivery or pay 3.95 for home delivery. I chose express delivery but was concerned about the fitting of new glasses. Needless to say. Glasses did not fit properly, so I tried to ring to inform them, no answer. Booked an appointment online as there was no option for a fitting. A rude young woman rang me to inform me I wasn't due an eye test. I explained what I wanted, only for her to put the phone down on me!! Went for my fitting, why couldn't they do that in the first place?? Wasted another day of my time! The shop itself has so many staff they are falling over each other. Very clinical. Staff were OK, but I will never give them my custom again!!”
“I booked an eye test at Specsavers Oldham and was very pleased with the way I was treated. I was helped by Faz who did my initial assessment, very professionally as she explained everything she was doing as we went along.
I was then seen by Humairah the optician who also explained in great detail everything she was doing which helped me relax knowing I was in very capable hands.
I was then helped by Shan and we found a pair of frames that I was more than happy with.
And finally there was a small problem but Caitlin the manager sorted it out to my total satisfaction.
Overall an extremely professional organisation who provided a first class service, at an affordable cost, and kept smiling to the end. I recommend Specsavers to everyone without hesitation.
Tim Oldham”
“Specsavers Westway Greenford branch use tactics to upsell and con money out of you, I went in to get glasses for my daughter which should have been free and instead they conned me into paying £65, both staff lied to me, the manager lied and was no help when I raised a complaint, the CEO does not careless about customers or customer service, Specsavers told me to take my complaint to OCCS as the head office could not be bothered to deal with my complaint and then after months and months of no response to OCCS they withdrew from the mediation not offering any solution, the worst company I've have ever dealt with, they are only intent in making money and will confuse and con you in getting money from you, even when you go to them to get free glasses for Children, what a disgusting and greedy company, especially the Greenford branch and the greedy lying staff, manager and CEO”
“My Varifocal glasses from Specsavers are certainly not the best that I have had, I would describe them as just about acceptable. The main problem is that the nose pads keep coming off, you would think that in this day and age Specsavers would be able to overcome this problem and save me having to make a 10 mile round trip to get the glasses fixed. Not too happy !”
“Specsaver deliberately sold lenses with adhesive sticker on glasses, once I tried removing the sticker, it only smeared the lenses. I cordially approach Specsaver and explained the situation, and Specsaver asked me to supply my address and receipt of purchase. But, Specsaver deliberately ignored and would not refund monies or glasses. A company that cannot and will not abide by its policies, I suggest everyone including myself to STAY AWAY FROM SPECSAVER!”
“Unhappy with Specsavers after more than 10 days my glasses are not ready and not sure when they will be
ready I am using a old pair which is far way better than the old new one manager is queit helpful and promise to call me on Friday with an outcome”
“As I’m reading through all the reviews I can see I’m not the only one who keeps getting glasses that are the wrong prescription my eyesight has hardly changed in years and only need glasses to read for work but I don’t use them for much else , told the optician what I needed them for but have had to go back twice to get the lenses replaced as I can’t even see out of them properly old glasses are great new ones rubbish . I even tried my partners on and can see perfectly with his needless to say I have to go back and get them sorted after this time I won’t go back to Specsavers again ever worst service ever ....”
“Had an wye test on Tuesday 9th March after my glasses snapped needed a new prescription so decided on new frames aswell b4 they would order glasses i was told id need 2 pay in full bur also told my glasses would be made as a priority I was told they'd be ready on tge Saturday or Monday so I phoned on Tuesday only 2 be told they wouldn't be ready for another at least 5 days absolute jokers once pain not interested”
“It took five attempts to collect the correct glasses, three eye tests, and several trips to the store since November to get the glasses I have now, and they are even made based on a prescription from a different company. Specsavers failed to get me the right glasses (wrong prescription by their optician & missed quality checks). All I wanted was some new frames I liked at Specsavers and ended up with too much trouble. Will try somewhere else next time.”
“I have been going to Specsavers for many years. There have been some issues in the past with poor fitting but this time has been the worst.
I had my eye test in September 2020 I've just been back again with the manager saying there is nothing else that can be done dismissing me from the store. I have been going back to the Feltham store on average every 2 weeks since September, incurring parking expenses every time. After the first couple of returns they decided I needed another eye test. It turned out that the prescription was too strong. So I waited for the new prescription to be put into my the frames. I went to collect them, they didn't fit. They adjusted them or should I say heated them up and bent them. Then the line vision was wrong. They adjusted them again. Eventually so out of shape they had to replace the frames. This has gone on for 6 months. And to top it all off, my daughters lenses on her glasses came out again for the second time. With my glasses and hers I have spent over £600. Today I was offered 50% off more glasses! I will not be returning. Shameful.”
