Not a great experience, I bought 2 pairs of glasses , I struggled to adjust to either. Took them back a few weeks later, and they explained the glasses were too big for my face. I ordered another pair, these arrived a couple of weeks later. Went yo collect them, these were even worse. Again the lady measured them and could see they were not made correctly. I got a refund for both pairs (300 pounds) I will not use spec savers again- interestingly, tge same thing was experienced by my husband a couple of years ago when he was given the wrong prescription, and talking to friends, the same has happened to them. I am sorry, friendly customer service doesnt make up for knowing what your doing.

We gave been using specsavers for better part if 16 years approx. 2 years ago we had endless issues at the longbridge birmingham so went vack to our usual Northfield only to have more issues. Never got 2 for 1 on both distance and reading, had to pay another £120 !! Manager gave us £25 discount ! Not very happy and don't think we will use them again, they were actual saving themselves £120 They should have gave us the options Option 1 2 for glasses and pay for add ons or 1 pair of each and get discount they didn't

I have used specsavers for the past 10 years and they have been ok but this last time I went to have an eye test and paid £255.00 for two pairs of glasses 1 long distance and 1 reading glasses 🤓 I asked them to be thinner lenses as they won’t rub the top bridge of my nose as the older glasses were heavy I also asked them to be tinted. I went back on the 16/01/2025 to try on and collect my new glasses 🤓 and the long distance ones were brilliant 🤩 thin comfortable and tinted , the short distance ones were like my my old ones heaven and not tinted I did say that I was not happy with them as I wanted them tinted and thinned but they were thick and not tinted I was escorted to a chair I waited about 15 minutes so I got up and there were three women discussing what to do I didn’t want to cause a problem so I told them I will take them and throw the thick glasses away as they would be no good for me and then left as I didn’t want to cause a problem to specsavers as there was a lot of people there

Bracing myself to return 2 pairs of varyfocals, can't read with them. I told them this on collection but they were paid for and I was told my eyes would 'adjust', what cowboys. Not the first time I've had problems with them, the optician is always pretty good, but they let idiots do the measurements, make the lenses and deal with aftercare. Not a GCSE between them. Totally p'd off. £175 for nothing. Looking up legal advice ready to know my rights.

Awful optician clearly does not like his job and is almost unresponsive to questions. I found him rude and curt , on the plus side the lady who served me afterwards was attentive and polite

Sec savers are the only optician where the glasses they supplied made my vision worse.

My experience with Specsavers was horrendous, I thought I was the only one who had to go back to Specsavers 4 times because my varifocals weren’t right but reading through the reviews here I definitely am not the only person who wouldn’t go to Specsavers again. I’ve ended up getting two pairs of glasses (which I wanted to avoid) because they couldn’t get my varifocals right. And after paying out for frames and varifocals lenses, I had to pay more to change to having two pairs of glasses. When I asked about the two frames for the price of one I was told that that offer meant you could have two distance glasses or two reading glasses but not one of each!! What a big con! When it comes to cost they blind you with science and your glasses end up costing a lot more than you expected. No way will I go back to Specsavers! They should be prosecuted for false advertising.

Had an eye test done in Carmarthen branch by a worker this Monday afternoon. She, the optician, must have worked on a factory production line in a past life because the 'end game' was all to her. I struggled seeing the lines/ letters on the screen and told her I was guessing and couldn't see them well. She second guessed me and said, "well you can see them can't you because you are reading them." At the end I received a buyers remorse pep talk about the wonders of their technology showing me that I haven't got such & such disease etc. As she supposedly showed me this wonder on her screen, she was speaking so fast that I'd missed my cue to turn from the screen in front of me and look with her at her computer screen. I have so little confidence in her professionalism that I felt the need to book another eye-test somewhere else. My friend suggested I go to Specsavers. His positive experience was with an older optician who happened have spoken Welsh. As I waited to pay, a worker said to the person taking my money "you've a lot on today" She said looking a couple of forms in front of her " Yes I have to clear the bask here" He said, "Yes you've got got to clear the basket". Won't be going back there ever. It was like a first year university common room or a 6 form.

I visited the Farnborough branch of Specsavers to have my eyes checked. The hard sell began before I had even had my eyes tested. As I need varifocals, the salesman was trying to sell me £215 technical lenses even though I didn't need such a high specification. It was then suggested that I could do with 3 pairs of glasses. I then went for the tests and the optician herself was professional and excellent. Coming out of the exam, the super salesman would not leave me alone to choose new frames and was pushing for me to pay for top of the range add-ons. It was when he mentioned that I needed the 'Ultra Clear Superclean' treatmentas this 'treatment' made the molecules of the reactions process to work faster that I had had enough. As I needed glasses urgently, I have now rejected his offers but still spent £380 for twos sets of mid price frames with the new lenses. I won't be going back in the future. Hard sell before the tests? Oversell before and after the test? I don't think so.

Worthing branch. I needed to order some replacement parts for my privately purchased hearing aids and telephoned. Impossible to speak to an actual person, just advised to leave a number and be called back "within 48 hours"! What sort of service do they call that? I call it diabolical.

I had an eye test last year, after being sold two pairs of glasses I couldn’t see out of, I’ve been for another eye test today and my eye sight has improved and they won’t admit the test was previously done wrong, nor will they swap my lenses to the new prescription (clear lense)

I have no problem with the staff but with the system. 10 days after placing my order I received a call from Specsavers to say that the frames that I chose had been damaged and as they had been discontinued I needed to select an alternative. This I did and requested that they provide the new glasses as a matter of urgency. Unfortunately I was told that their system for providing glasses was automated and could not be changed and that I would have to join the queue. The reputation of a company where machines take over from people is, in my estimation, very low. Specsavers probably are the cheapest option. but at what cost to their customers. It appears that this is a case of "you get what you pay for"

If I could, I would give the staff a 5 star review, they did their best to solve the problem. After 3 remakes of the lenses and despite my optometrist's note to match the curvature and lens thickness, the glasses made for me were very difficult to wear, there was blurring at the peripheral, the progressives caused the floor to seem wavy, there was only a small section that was clear. My prescription was blamed went for a retest, not much difference. Let me make it clear I have been wearing glasses for over 60 years and know very well how they should be. I did say at the first pair that if the frames were not compatible with the prescription , no problem I would pick something else. First pair letters on the signs in the store were doubling, and driving only looking straight ahead was it clear tried for 2 weeks to wear, because they wanted me to 'adjust'. I returned and they redid the lenses.Put 2nd pair on and when I stood up total loss of balance, again only small section of lens clear, 3rd try lens upgrade, and after 4 weeks 'adjusting' a lot of eye strain and in total frustration I put my old glasses on and have not gone back. So my benefits were used up and have since bought new glasses out of pocket somewhere else and they are exactly correct. After speaking to professional, lens quality can make a big difference when you have astigmatism. Again kudos to the staff as they tried to fix a product that was not the quality needed.

.very bad time keeping for appointmentWaited for 35 minutes for eye test. I had to ask for my prescription as I was not given it. On the plus side very helpful in choosing new frames.I feel the whole place was just too busy to cope with everyon.
