I am elderly and living in a retirement home with disabilities. I have been trying to speak to someone at SSE about my electricity statements which are extremely high. I spend hours on the phone being shunted from South Africa to the Philippines and urgently need to speak to someone here in the UK. This is beginning to weigh me down. The service is extremely poor. I am in a small flat and my friend lives in a four-bedroom house who pays a lot less. My SSE account number is 75246 40514.

Absolutely usless pass you from pillow to post was on phone 2 hour 30 minits even there own worker put a complaint on my behalf was that bad there is a terrible language barrier on phones sse owes me 500+ for over charges on my meter now there say know f all about it after saying there owe me it I am most certainly finding another energy supplier feel like banging my head against the brick wall When on phone Absolutely let down service no dedicated service like there say

Totally useless customer service! I spent over 6h30 on the phone, talked to 16 people over the last 10 weeks and my issue still isn’t sorted. They mixed up my meter reading and doesn’t look like they have any intention into fixing that. They put me on hold and it gets silent like if an issue happened so I have to hang up but I could hear the computer on the background. They remain silent so they don’t have to sort out your problem. They should be ashamed ! On top of it they buy they good reviews on trustpilot.

The shittiest company i have ever heard of!!!!!!!! They fixed my monthly payment for £30 so at the end of my contract to have £500 to pay , bunch of idiots plus I’ve been on the phone for 50 minutes…….

Closed account when asked not to, sent bills to wrong address, wrong billing amount, didn't know a meter had been fitted, the list goes on....when I tried to contact them to give them the £3.99 they still claim is owed, no on with sufficiently good English to understand what I was trying to achieve. After nearly 40 minutes, the lady admitted she had no idea how this had happened, or what to do about it...........and hung up! This lot make the Met look efficient.

Disgusting, the phone manner is terrible. You wait on hold for over a hour and still your problem isn't solved!! I wish i hadn't went with sse, your not worth my cash

his company has caused my breakdown!! This company has caused my breakdown!!! The stress I have been put under tor the past 6 weeks and not a single care in the world from SSE!! Emails constantly getting ignored! Left trying to get through on the phone every single day only to be constantly cut off after waiting over one hour in the first place!!! Never known a more disgusting company in all my life!! They treat their customers with very little respect, no empathy, no heart and not a care in the world for our feelings!! I will be making sure everybody knows about this as this has severely affected my mental health in a very bad way that SSE are responsible for. This will not go away at all. All I wanted to do was re set up my electric that SSE messed up in the first place!! Anyone would think they don’t want business. Can’t ever get hold of anybody!!! It’s a disgrace! They should not be allowed to stay open.

Please everyone careful from this company SSE ITS THE WORSE COMPANY I HAVE EVER SEE THE ADVISERSNEVER HELP YOU THE HANG THE PHONE THEY MADE ME CRY TODAY I WAS ON THE LINE 6 hours never solved my issue and still I’m crying I have my 95 year granny in the house my electric of 2 days and I don’t know way They don’t care about anything they only want take ur money please don’t signup with them if u miss one payment they cut you electric I’m shocked and u will never get speak with the manger even in ur dream sorry about my English but I wanted to warn everyone

I have never been so dissapointed with a provider in my entire life. i live with my 1 child and they tried claiming i used £90 a month in just gas. My current supplier charges me less than half that and that isnt even estimated, i input meter readings every month, same i did with SSE. This company is literally impossible to get hold of, but when you owe them money, they literally call you 3+ times a day, they want ALL the money in one go, wont accept a monthly payment to pay off the last bill. basically they think i can afford to pay them 90 in one go when i am also paying 35 to my new supplier and i couldnt ever afford the 90 with them in the first place. its like they want all their money before they get shut down...... they also declined my warm home discount which i was entitled to and have had with previous suppliers. id honestly rather have no gas at all than go with these theives. i was sold the world when i got offered to join SSE, but then was given a bucket of vomit and charged £90 a month for the privilege. Avoid this company like its covid in a pipe!

Absolutely terrible. Ignored or told that they have done something I haven't asked. Went to ombudsman and accepted proposal from SSE but SSE are still not fulfilling their proposal. They gave me £60 refund for what I had overpaid but I didn't ask for it. I wanted it left in credit on my electric. Well I haven't received it in my bank account . . . So I wanted and still want the £60 goodwill payment promised. I want to leave SSE free with no extra payments . . They have caused me 4 months of grief and I am extremely ill with diseases and conditions that kill.

Company refuses to send someone out to fix our meter which is reading wrong, never missed a bill at the max rate and now we’ve been hit with a 700£ bill and threats of debt collection agency knocking at our door because of this company lead by degenerates, too bone idle to send an engineer out to fix their own mistakes but more than happy to scare young mothers with CCJ’s to get money they’re not owed, I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone on this planet.

My meter reading display has been broken for over a year. I keep paying the maximum amount each month, I sent emails, called, contacted them on twitter, sent complaints etc: they just don't come fix it. The result is that I have an outstanding balance of like +600£ with them, which I will never see again.

This Worst company in utillities sector, they don't care about there customers. I'll have been kept waiting on the phone for long intervals, they even cut me off. I have no gas supply for last 4 days, they just don't care. All calls to SSE get diverted to Capetown, South Africa. They have no clue about Customer service.

This is the worst utilities company i have ever had to deal with, i have spent hours on the phone with them and everyone you speak to seems to give you a different answer, they pass you around when they can't deal with something and are darn right rude. They can't even deal with a simple house move and somehow have mixed my residential property with rental property accounts. Absolutely ridiculous. I will be moving all of my accounts away from this company.

Wouldn’t even give it 1 star terrible company can’t talk on my husband’s behalf even with knowing all account details was meant to switch to them with a pay as you go meter but cancelled it so why do we still get letters saying we owe them money when we didn’t even switch to them joke of a company and rude on the phone!

I didn’t even want to leave 1 star because service really is that poor! Absolutely disgusting service. My partner is a carer, I am autistic and my daughter is under 2. They have left us without electricity due to their incompetence. Either their staff need training on how to use a switchboard or their system is seriously flawed. We have spent hours on the phone today trying to speak to someone but every time we get through to an actual human they have to ‘transfer us’ to someone else. However, their version of this is either hanging up or sending us back to the main menu. Our prepayment meter was supposed to change over to a credit meter on the 16th, which was five days ago. We phoned on the 17th and actually managed to speak to someone! They told us that we should give it a ‘few more days and see what happens’. Is that how a business should treat appointments? We waited a few more days and it still didn’t change over. As a result we now have 7p left on our meter until their engineers decide they can be bothered to click a button. We have not been given another appointment. My partner was supposed to get a call back from the escalation team within the hour today regarding this. However that was three hours ago and they now close in 15 minutes. I doubt we’ll receive the call. This is appalling and absolutely disgusting. We’re now logging everything in preparation to complain through the ombudsman services. We do not have the funds to pay for electric upfront hence why we wanted a credit meter to pay as soon as we get paid. My autism means I struggle with budgeting. We have no money and no electric. Great job SSE! Superb service. We’ll be switching as soon as we can and I cannot wait.

Worst company I have ever dealt with. First of all they overcharged me when I was even living in the apartment at the time, £150 a month. When I rang them and said they were overcharging they said they would amend which they didn't. After closing my account as I had tenants moving in and it wasn't bills included they asked for money after the account was closed. At the time of the account closure I had no money outstanding. Worst company I wouldn't even recommend to my worst enemy as that would be too mean.

Unbelievable! They are still charging me for a service I canceled almost three months ago. I'm not even in the country anymore and they don't answer my emails. By telephone they don't tell my family member what's going on either. And there is not an explanation whatsoever in my bill. I'm terribly dissatisfied with SSE.
