I reserved a car in company "Surprice rent car" with automatic transmission for Lisbon trip in February (for June 1). I payed a deposit - 177 EUR. By the time I arrived (the flight was delayed) the car was gone. They could only offer a manual transmission car as a replacement, which I didn't feel safe to drive. I ended up renting a car at a different company and requested a refund of the deposit. The Guys (Customer Service) refused to refund me. Looks like it is their business style - to get money and provide no service.

Surprice Heathrow / Rentalcars UKl Absolutely dreadful service - avoid Surprice UK / Heathrow at all costs Do not bother pre-purchasing any insurance before arriving in the UK. Surprice simply do not recognise any pre-purchased insurances and will not release your car until you had paid for additional insurance. Its a scam - they ripped me off for $400 for a six day rental period. Rental cars are just bad. They are aware of the scam and keep referring customers to Surprice. Surprice will not respond to any written complaints, so please consider escalating your complaint by contacting UK consumer protection agencies / Vehicle hire regulatory bodies or ombudsman

Probably the worst experience of hiring a car in my 36 years alive! From the crappy instructions to the customer care. I have never witnessed people be so rude to customers who are paying! Utterly ridiculous. The insurance request feels like a con, they demand 900 euros despite having prepaid for insurance. They are aggressive, unhelpful and outright rude. They need a shake up. This company should be avoided at all costs. We lost our money and rebooked with AVIS could not have been better! DO NOT BOOK!

FIRST OF ALL, I AM SHOCKED ABOUT THE amount of bad exeriences with them here.. I wish we could find a common review website or centralized somehow so we don't have to google like crazy.... So.. my exp june 2024: I booked in Romania, I thought 3.8E per day was too good to be true so I said let's do it, let's see what's the catch!+ I paid more 2E insurance per day because it looked cheap..BUT: What I didn't liked is: 1. The 1800E deposit (too much) 2. The fact that they cannot accept only CREDIT cards 3. Another 1800E available which are NOWHERE in the contract (or terms)! I was just told that when I got to SurPrice office. And of course was not prepared. My credit card limit was 2500E so there was no way to have available 1800E after blocking 1800E. 4. The "casco" insurance they offer is 35 Euros per day... Again NOWHERE written in the contract. That was my only way to rent the car since I couldn't provide credit card with sufficient funds.. so the 2E per day insurance became obsolete but I couldn't recover it.. so it was in the end: car rental price3.8 +2E per day insurance+35E per day insurance.. 5. Another thing that IT ISN'T in the contract is damages payment. How much u pay per small/big scratch, windshield replacement, etc. I was shocked when the guy showed me the table and said: because of cheap price of rental we have VERY SMALL TOLERANCE to DEFECTS... (so here's the catch...) 6. The car had minimum options. No tempomat, no sun visor that extends, Bluetooth for any iPhone was not working, no navigation... etc 7. The windshield wiper motor was NOT WORKING. I bought windshield liquid but was full. so motor was broken, dangerous for almost rainy situations! Not worth to call surprice since I was 200km away.... 8 . The foot rag was sliding under the accelerator, again dangerous... must be fixed.. 9. And the SurPrice... what name is that? It's not the smartest move since it means: "we charge you more", and also "surprize"... that already sounds like a red flag. 10. During completing the renting papers, another guy called because his car broken.. I have to consider myself happy because my car lasted.. Anyway, I was sure there is a catch for the cheap price of renting a car, I was expecting to pay more in some way, in which I did, I paid insurance that costs more than renting with my usual car rental company + SCDW. From now on I will rent only with them or real car rental companies, no more brokers or through flight companies. What I liked tho is: 1. The promptitude of the employee and the informations he gave 2. The fact that I got a better car (but that can happen almost to any car rental company) 3. The handover process 4. No mileage limit...

These people are fraudsters. I rented a car from Catania airport on the 1st of June 2024 with a car voucher from Easyjet. As mentioned by other victims, the check in process is so slow that by the time you find the shed out of which they operate and wait in the queue you go over their two hour reservation time limit and incur a penalty. They got upset when I said I did not want their 350 Euro insurance to cover the 1200 Euro excess, as I'd bought one from Axa for £50 through Easyjet and SurPrice or Autoone as they also call themselves warned me that if there was any damage to the vehicle I would be charged at least 350 Euros per item of damage however insignificant. They actually took 1,200 Euros from my credit card despite the rep saying they would only take money if the car was damaged. When I returned the car the rep went straight to the door lock and said it was damaged as the key would not turn in the lock. I'd never actually used the key as the central locking was operated remotely by the key fob. The rep emailed me an invoice for just under 500 Euros for a new door lock. I'm now in the process of claiming under my Axa excess policy but its going to be an uphill struggle as I don't have a signed contract or indeed any paperwork from SurPrice. I'm also going to complain to Easyjet as I rented the car through them and it was Easyjet who picked SurPrice. I'd never heared of them before and would never use them again. Being basically robbed by them ruined the end of of what was otherwise a lovely holiday in Sicily. To add insult to injury when I got home I received an email from them asking for my feedback, but the link failed when I tried to leave some feedback.

Total disappointment. A pure form of fraud. I rented a car from Sofia airport, Bulgaria. I received a car that had quite visible defects on the body. Upon receipt, an employee made an inventory of the defects, but did not note a few because, according to him, they were insignificant. I accepted his words on trust. And that was my mistake. I returned the car a few days early. The subsequent inspection immediately "found damage" to the rear bumper, which was one of many even before I took the car. I objected and tried to dispute but.. I had to I paid 220 euros to release my Just see the picture!I am speechless! It is clear that I will never use their services again.

Honestly the worst car rental experience I have ever had. PLEASE DONT USE THIS COMPANY! I am British and work abroad, so come back to the UK and rent cars fairly often. This is the worst option I have ever come across. I waited for them to collect me from my terminal for over 45 mins at 11pm at night, not a great start. They then proceeded to overcharge me for insurance because of utterly ridiculous company policies. I am also writing this over 8 weeks since i returned the car and they have still not returned my deposit. This is genuinely the worst car rental option in Heathrow. NEVER USE.

Comfortable the worst car rental experience ever - Never use this company. You really do get what you pay for in this industry. After landing at Heathrow with two children under three and after 32 hours in transit already from Newcastle (Australia) it took another SIX HOURS to get access to our vehicle and get to our destination an hour from Heathrow. Upon landing, I called reception to request a pick up as advised but 15 calls went unanswered. It took 45 minutes to speak to somebody at which point we were already through security. Our transfer then took another 45 minutes to arrive. When it did arrive, we’d requested two child seats but they’d provided one baby seat with a capsule and no base so we were forced to put our baby in an older car seat and have our toddler ride seat free. When we got to check in the service was terrible. Zero empathy, zero effort made to expedite our check in citing our young children, long transit and poor experience already. The tone and attitude from the staff was effectively that they couldn’t care less about our customer experience. We eventually gained access to the vehicle over three hours after landing. In fairness drop off was seamless but the destination of the Surprice Heathrow office is very odd and not close to Heathrow itself. An awful experience from an awful company

Waiting here since 15.45pm & still haven't received our rental car yet. Absolutely disgraceful wait for a hire car. Most definitely will never use this company again.

Surprice UK Heathrow Simply avoid this company - they refuse to accept any pre-purchased insurance & will not release your vehicle until you purchased their additional insurance. I purchased full cover protection through Rental cars - not accepted by Surprice / I saw them refuse American Express cover from another client and bully an elderly couple into purchasing additional insurance. Don't bother complaining as they won't respond. Terrible experience - avoid using them at all costs Consider complaining to UK consumer standards, car hire protection and industry ombudsman - apologies could not attached links.

I rented a vehicle in Pisa, in May 2024. 1) no handing over of the rental contract. It is sent to you by email, I am told. This is NOT TRUE, nothing is sent and no one informs you in advance of the terms and conditions of the contract. 2) the car is given to me unwashed. There is no other, the employee tells me. 3) no contradictory examination of the vehicle, and therefore no document provided on this point. Take photos, the employee tells me... except that under the mud and dust it is impossible to check that there are no scratches or paint chips... 4) on the way back, the same employee "innocently" wipes an area of the underbody and "discovers" scratches on the paint (sic!). He doesn't even bother to look anywhere else!!! 5) no delivery of the vehicle return document. It will be sent to you by email, the employee tells me. This is NOT TRUE again, nothing is sent. 6) back home, I noticed that no document had been sent and that Suprice had debited the CDW excess (€1200) from my account even though I had no accident. Immediately I made a complaint. Following this complaint, the requested documents (rental contract and return report) were sent to me by email... not signed by me, of course. And the CDW excess was partially refunded to me, Surprice having kept €585 in compensation for the disputed scratches... so about 1.7 times the rental cost! New complaint from me... but without much hope. This was my first rental with Surprice, but probably my last. ADVICE, RUN AWAY FROM THIS RENTER!!! Note that this company also uses the name AUTO ONE. Run away from them too!!!

Terrible company with zero concern for their customers. We were told to call the rental agency when we arrived at Bari airport and they would send a shuttle car to take us to the rental location. After calling we waited nearly an hour and still they had not come. Tried calling them and no one would answer the phone. When we were successful in reaching them we were told some b.s. about having to change the pick-up car and they were on the way. We waited another hour while trying to reach them multiple times, again with no answer. Finally a driver showed up, walked us to the shuttle van only to then tell us his van was full and we would have to continue to wait until he could come back. At this point, we walked to another rental agency for a car. They wasted half of our day of vacation. Just disappointing. I would not advise trusting this company.

Rented the car through DoYouItaly. Purchased the premium insurance / excess waiver cover and was advised no further cover was required . Collected car from Surprice at Catania airport . Large queue indicated popular place but quickly sensed the tension in the queue and at the counter ! Nobody came out to explain process or advise on queue waiting times etc. It was only when I was served that the problems became apparent, the delays were aggravated by : Deposit could only be left on a credit card . Deposit was €1200. American express and debit card not accepted for this deposit ( which people didn't understand ). If you wanted to use a debit card you had to buy their own insurance at €350 . The deposit of €1200 is deducted as a sale on your credit card. It's not blocked or held , it's actually deducted . It will be returned if the car is returned without damage. But it can take up to 30 days for this payment to be released . I'm still waiting , returned car on 12th May 2024. They try a hard sell ok their own insurance and became quite aggressive with it ' do you want to take that risk ' repeatedly asked despite me having premium cover from point of rental. They offered a €23 /€35 per day policy !!! I declined much to their disgust . If things were better explained about deposits and payment methods and insurance there would be a lot of trouble avoided. The car and check out was done by Autoone. So purchsed with DoYouItaly, collected from Surprice and car belonged to Autoone. The car was good. It had some existing damage recorded on check out . Apart from insurance and deposit issues it was ok.

This is the worst rental car company ever. Do not rent any car from this place. The car that they gave me in London had problems, low gas to begin with, then tire problem, then engine oil light came on. The wait is incredibly long, they did not pick up the phone, and also they did not pick us up from the airport, not brought us back to the airport after we returned the car. Bottom line is, this place is a scam. Do not rent anything from this place.
