Your survey is a bit early as it only arrived by courier this morning so at this point is still unopened so cannot assess state of the product. Only comment at this stage is that it was ordered and dispatched on Thursday last week by courier and I would consider that it has taken quite a while to get here as it was in stock and withing the same island. I believe it had to change couriers as Castle do not deliver to Nelson, perhaps use of another company if delivery is to an area not serviced by Castle would be a good idea so that goods are received more quickly.

Hello Karen, thanks for the feedback, Poste Haste/Castle Parcels only deliver urban parcels and hand over to rural post which takes a couple of days longer hence the longer delivery time!

I have purchased two lines in the past and have been very happy with them. Both still in action. Recently bought two more hanging lines. My thoughts were that the quality of the wooden rungs was lower and the price considerably higher. But I am happy to have them.

Your assembly instructions for the rotary clotheslines could be a lot better and this would make the a huge difference to the customer experience. Here are my suggestions to improve them: 1. you have a small diagram showing the required 1m clearance - include in this diagram the diamter of the line and the total diameter including clearance. 2. (in your point 3) add in a reminder to orient the arms so that the holes for the lines are in the correct location (ie, they can be installed in two different orientations, only one of them will work) 3. (in your point 3) you say the 4th hole.... from which end?! (yes I worked it out but if I have to work it out myself, what is the point of instructions?). 4. The wiring instructions are very difficult to follow, firstly there is something weird happening where you talk about the 3 outer lines to be tightened by pulling and then the 3-4 inner lines to be done with twisting pliers... there are only 5 lines! 5. You say (in point 10) that the cross can be put back into place and that it will add tension to the lines.... what is the cross, who took it off and how do I put it back?? 6. The images for the tying off are confusing - F is the only one that really helped at all. 7. There is an asterix in point 7 between the words "end" and "taut", it is not clear why. 8. Also in point 10 there is mention of winding - I guess this is for a unit with a winding device, it is confusing to have it in here, there is no winder on my clothesline. 9. A diagram at the start with each of the parts labeled and how it goes together would be so useful. it is a simple contraption, but when you have never seen one in pieces before, a clear visual on what is going on would speed things along greatly. 10. And lastly, some tape or something to wrap the ends of the wires to stop them ripping my lace undies would be a lovely touch. Life is too short for crappy clothesline assembly instructions, please take a look at them and get someone who is not an engineer to re-do them.

I have already reviewed this line, but still have modifications to make to make it a really good line.

Delivery time information could be more regularly updated - I understand the Christmas period is busy but the purchaser should not have to enquire twice where the product is following the advised date for dispatch not being met. Having said that - emails are very promptly responded to by Swiftdry.

Product generally fine but was disappointed when the powdercoating just flaked off the foot plates as the dynabolts were tightened. Suggesting I spray paint them was not very helpful.

You advertised the lead time as 2-3 days I suggest we’re fully aware that it was going to be way longer than that. An update of your web page should’ve been done straight away rather than a phone call a couple of days after I ordered. We are in a new built house and we’re desperate for somewhere to hang our washing

It arrived quickly and I can tell that it is made well. The only thing I was disappointed about was that we have to take the line in and out each day and I noticed that all the lines get tangled as it goes in. I was hoping the new one would channel each line into its own lane and not go across them all.

We purchased an Austral 40 and whilst we found the product to be quite strong, we found it extremely difficult to tension all the lines up evenly. It took two of us and quite a bit of time

Hi SwiftDry We haven’t had our clothes line for very long…and we are sad that one line has already rusted off and fallen down. This is not what we expected. Can you please confirm what you would expect for longevity of the supplied lines? We have the steel lines with plastic coating... but they are not sealed at the ends so all have an element of rust at each end. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this. We can provide images of the lines if helpful. Looking forward to hearing from you. Jono and Katie Smith 2 Appletree Lane, Kerikeri, 0230

Could have a nicer/neater looking tensioning system and easier to use

Staff were very helpful. Courier was very slow, took 2 weeks from Chch to Russell. The clothesline itself is more sturdy than a Hills but a pig of a thing. The clip supplied to take the bar the end of the lines you pull out is hopeless. We ended up using the two from our old Hills unit. The lines themselves to be taunt are a nightmare and still arent great, the instructions to tension them are frustrating. The unit needs real improvement to make it as simple to fix as others. We have fitted about 5 of the Hills ones at properties we own, Hills are far simpler. We are hoping that after the hassle of getting this unit and fitting it it lasts longer.

I Like the clothesline so I'm happy enough. I absolutely love the green colour - it just blends into the environment so well. Two things at issue: 1/ it is too tall, we mounted it at the bottom setting and still it is rather high - lucky my ground goes up on one side so I can reach it anyway. 2/ The mounting section you stand it in is too loose - it does not grip the pole so it wobbles in any wind. It needs something jammed in there to make it tight, but of course you still need to be able to pull it out when you want to move the clothesline which kind of defeats the purpose... I haven't decided what I should use - any ideas would be appreciated. Concept is excellent however.

High quality finish. Good service. Only issue was the mechanism to tighten the wires was too rudimentary to do the job, and am not even sure with a proper apparatus a tight line is achievable given you are tightening a wire by pulling it back through two holes at 180 degrees. Maybe plastic washers in the holes might help? And a better winch mechanism. Tried to telephone the 0800 number 8am sat for some help but just an answerphone

Hello Don, thanks for the feedback on that - good suggestions, we do have a ratchet system that is coming into stock for these clotheslines shortly and will send one out to you as soon as it arrives. Kind regards, WIlliam

I thought the clothesline I purchased from you was similar to one that I had at my previous house but the quality does not appear to be the same in this one as it does not look or feel as solid as the one I had. In particular, the frame and the mechanism that lets it fold up and down. In this one it is not as easy to fold down and it just seems less solid. The people who installed this one for me said I should have kept the clothesline I was replacing instead as they thought it was better than your one, even though the old one was rusty and very old. For those reasons I am skeptical about my purchase. It remains to be seen if the product I purchased from you stands the test of time as I had the previous clothesline at my former house for almost 9 years and it hadn't deteriorated at all. I do not know what brand it was but I was very impressed by it. I hope I can say that about this one in 9 years.

The clothes lines appears to be great although only half way through the install at the moment. The problem was with the free delivery in NZ. The clothes line got to Timaru and then the courier phoned and said it was 26kg and their limit is 25kg, and that it was too big and awkward for there van and they couldn't put it on top of other parcels so we had to pick it up to get it to Otematata.

We have to tighten the tension on the wires after each wash to prevent the clothes dragging on the ground. I expect some stretching of the wires but how long should this go on as I have used it at least 5 times. Thanks Claire

Not the vendors fault but the courier firm sent tje items all pver tje country and it took weeks from leaving the factory untill we received the item. Comment from my wife, its a bit high. A couple more predrilled holes to allow it to be set for different heights would be nice. I don't want to drill them and compramose the galvanizing and finish.

Thanks, Stuart, sure is a shame about the courier! Good point about extra holes; will have a look at that.
