I paid in full for my holiday and when the Government travel restrictions came in Sykes refused outright to refund my money. Be warned do not book anywhere through them, they are also screwing the owners over too. Terrible company, profiteering from this mayhem and no scruples about doing it.

Not refunding into peoples banks with regards to Covid19 .profitering !We dont want credit notes or holidays in a years time at a dearer cost . Just allow us to cancel bookings and refund us in full. Boris will have heard of what you are doing to your customers Sykes & as he said he will not tolerate profitering.

Booked a holiday for April which has now been cancelled. Asked for a refund only to be told i could only rebook for a future date. When i tried to rebook for the following year they wanted an additional £700! Customer service is non-existent. They are trying to profit from an unprecedented situation. Please do not book with them!

Profiteering from the Covid-19 pandemic. Refusing to refund deposits of customers who are taking government advice, not travelling and are following lockdown rules. DISGRACEFUL!

Absolutely dreadful. Had a holiday booked the week the UK went into lockdown due to COVID19. Sykes refused to give a refund, instead told me I could rebook for next year. When I went to look it was between £300 and £1000 extra for the same dates. Every other date I looked at was £100s if not £1000s extra. Sykes are profiteering. The customer service is non-existent with generic C&P responses on email. They will not explain themselves. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!!!

Unethical and possibly illegal business practices from Sykes during a time of national crisis. Avoid. Blacklist. They are refusing refunds to customers who are frontline saving lives in the NHS. Shameless.

Unable to travel due to covid -19 lockdown ut Sykes refuse to cancel and refund. After initially offering amended dates, where ther were significant additional costs they are ow offering partial refund play credit note. Why on earth would I want credit with a company who has the morals of a sewer rat? You will NEVER bet business from me , my family, or any of our friends. Disgraceful profiteering!

We had booked accommodation for May, due to Government lockdown the accommodation is no longer available and in real terms out booking has been cancelled by Sykes, although they have cancelled they are refusing to refund monies and will only offer a credit in the same accommodation at any point in the future up to 24 months, they have waived admin fees however any increased cost has to be paid. We are unable to reschedule for any time in the future for a number of reasons .. in this case Sykes expect us to cancel the booking and if we cancel we would forfeit all and any monies paid with the minimum being total deposit for no fault if our own .. total unreasonable, inflexible, unethical and morally corrupt approach to customer focus arcs moment of international crisis.

My wife is in the most vulnerable group from Covid-19. We tried to rebook our holiday to next year but there was nothing available for the next two years. Tried to contact Sykes by telephone but always busy but then they closed their call centre. Tried to email but no reply. Sykes say its easy to make amendments but it was impossible. I subsequently found out that there were no dates because the owner was leaving Sykes as a booking agent. I had to take action to prevent Sykes taking the outstanding balance from my credit card. This firm is refusing to give refunds and is profiteering from the Covid-19 crisis. Sykes is more concerned about getting up its Trustpilot score than treating its customers fairly. Don't trust this company.

Would give zero if possible- over £800 paid. Holiday cancelled by Sykes but not able to get our money back. Really poor customer service - unable to get hold of anyone on the phone. Really wouldn't recommend that anybody uses this company.

No refund for a cottage booked for a holiday in May. Deposit lost despite the current situation. Had to cancel or they would have automatically have taken the full payment even though they could not provide the holiday. I was offered the same date for next year at a70% price increase. Shameful company. No morals. They are now manipulating their reviews on trustpilot ( both companies have same owners,)

Disreputable gang of thieves. Not returning customers monies for holidays which they are unable to travel on due to lockdown. Offering ‘free’ transfers yet all future dates cost more. I booked a holiday for a specific date, you’re now unable to meet my requirements, you should be refunding. Terrible customer service, treating customers with contempt. I would advise that you never ever book a holiday with this company, as if something was to go wrong with your booking, they will look after their own interests and not yours as the customer. Plus they’re writing numerous fake 5* Trustpilot reviews.

Like all the other reviews they have effectively stolen £640 from me, I took there “any reason insurance” and was told by operator because I was cancelling for no real reason!!! I would lose all my money. The company are truly taking advantage in a time when everyone needs help and to work together. They could have taken this opportunity to show they were an honest company that cares about its customers and come out of this with a shining reputation, instead they took the path of greed and deception and hopefully will come out of this ruined.

Very unhappy customers and owners. Shown its true colours in its despicable handling of rental bookings in the current corna outbreak, misleading comments to customers, misleading comments to property owners, only allowing rebooking at highly inflated prices, no refunds even though they themselves tell you not to travel. Even fabricating positive reviews from who knows who, so wrong. Also have a look here ‘Sykes Cottages Unhappy Customers Page’ on Facebook for further comments.

I really wish I could give zero stars for the terrible company that Sykes is - apparently seeing the Covid-19 crisis as an opportunity for profit. I had a long weekend booked through Sykes for early May. It became clear that the health advice and lock-down regulations made the booking impossible, not least as a member of our party is 98 years old. Sykes offered zero assistance in re-booking for a later date and refused any refund of the £245 deposit. Interestingly a friend of mine owns a small holiday let in Wales and has had bookings cancelled by Sykes - but he doesn't see any money from them. If Sykes is retaining all the lost deposits and booking fees then it really is beneath contempt - I can't recommend strongly enough to avoid using it. And to property owners, I would caution against the reputational risk of being associated with such an apparently disreputable company!
