Disgusted with the lack of service from the AA and the situation that my girlfriend was put in thanks to the organisation. Obviously women's safety is of no concern compared to the opportunity make a few ££. My Girlfriend was ran into a ditch on a single track country road by another car. The AA told her she was priority and would take an hour. 4 hours later shes still there, on a lonely area with limited phone signal and partially blocking the road. AA just kept deferring the time. Eventually a tow truck arrives, the AA charged £300 for this, the company that arrived stated they charge £150 for the same service. So AA took advantage of the accident kept her waiting 4 hours in a vulnerable situation and made sure they made a profit in the rescue. She's paid for the highest level of AA cover, all they did was phone someone else and make some ££ on it. The second time the AA have let her down. Previously a few months earlier after a breakdown a promised 40 minute wait turned into 3 hours in the rain with 3 kids in the car, every text message from them added another hour to the ETA. In the end she contacted a local garage and cancelled the AA call out. Safe to say with renewal due we wont be using them again, I've already cancelled my membership several months ago after my own experience poor service. James

took advantage of the fact I don't know a lot about cars, overcharged me £300 for a pick up when other mechanics have since told me they should have said i can drive home as was only 2 miles away. When I tried to complain the process took 3 months with no results - so I have given up. Very disappointing as they're supposed to be 'the best' (most expensive)

Had automatic renewal which says been upgraded to a Gold customer with extra perks. The charge for the year is £307-19. Looking online if a new customer the same cover is £169! So loyalty buys an extra cost of £138.19. My dads policy, i am trying to sort, wouldn’t speak to me without authority; he has emailed them to authorise them to speak to me; saying not had that and will take 5 working days to acknowledge the email and then i need to call. This has been going on for nearly 2 weeks.

I have been with AA for a number of years now, the way I have been treated yesterday, I have never been let down like this by any other organisations. I booked a breakdown on the app at 4:45pm, I made a phone call via the app to explain the problem in depth details. I specifically told them my vehicle has fuel leaked out, it is an automatic, I’m stuck in a petrol station. I was told that someone would be with me in about an hour time. Two hours later, I received a phone call from one of ‘Jackson’s Of Birmingham’ employee, he stated he would be with me in a few minutes, the gentleman came in an ordinary van to my surprise, he opened the bonnet of the vehicle asked me to try and starting it, I did as I was told, he realised one of the fuel pipe was split therefor it was leaking fuel. I was told that he would call for a truck to come and pick my car up, I was specifically told to wait for a phone call. That phone call never came, at 8:24pm I phoned AA, it took them 1 hour and 15 minutes to answer my phone call, which only lasted 2 minutes, I enquired about the truck which was supposed to come and rescue me, I was told no one had notified them! I explained to the lady I have been waiting over 4 hours for a rescue with false hopes, I was told she would send a truck out as soon as possible. At 10:37pm, I received a phone call from a number in London, some lady said the driver will be with you in 15 minutes. The driver did come but again he was driving a van and not a truck. When he looked at my vehicle, he realised I needed a truck and not a van, he contacted AA directly but they asked him to deal with it, it took the gentleman 45 minutes to take my back 2 wheels off, attach different wheels to it. I ended up being towed to my garage at 01:00am, it was a 2.1 miles distance from where I broke down, it was obvious the garage was going to be closed at that time of the morning. It took the AA gentleman a further 45 minutes, to take his wheels off my car and put mine one on again. From calling AA for a rescue at 4:45pm, they finally got my car to my destination (2.1 miles) at 01:45am. I thought RAC was bad with a 90 minutes response time, the AA took more or less 9 hours for a 2.1 miles rescue. It’s a good thing I had access to another car, otherwise my phone battery would have died and then I would have been stuck. Usually when AA completes their job, they always send you a questionnaire on how they had performed, this time they didn’t bother to do so. Moral of the story, I would keep far far away from this organisation it’s absolutely a joke.

Car on fire on motorway. Wife. Child. Two dogs. Told AA of fire. Fire brigade and police out. 3.5 hours getting queue bumped and dumped. Online form ignored despite receiving so called priority call back - never came. Still waiting 5 hours later. Horrendous. Avoid at all costs. Paid thousands over the years. Never called once but the time I needed them they were not there.

Its the stupid technological world we live in today. My car wouldn't start. I called the AA. Automated voice told me a text was coming. Opens the text which had a link to a web page. Filled out the web page. Hit the submit button/icon. It just sits there. Doesn't go anywhere. Tried ringing them but 30minute wait. Gave up. Then rang Green Flag. Got a call back organised. Man came out, he couldn't fix it so a recovery truck was sent out and car was dropped off at my service garage. Called AA this morning but they wanted another £95 because the garage was within 1/4 of a mil of home. What a disgusting company. I have been with them since 2006 and only used them trice in all those years. Horrible company. Will probably wave goodbye to them this August. Good riddance. Greedy barstewards.

Absolutely appalled by the service I have received from AA. I broke down yesterday, and have been stuck on a busy road an hour away from home since yesterday. My mum has health problems, and being picked up just does not seem to be their priority!

Broke down in unsafe situation. Got me sorted kept me informed. Good old fashioned proper service Men on the road fixers and flatback rescuers Spot on blokes who are good at what they do. It's frustrating when you breakdown it takes time to sort it for anyone but you know they're on it . When you see that van pull up you realise it's worth every penny. Cheers .

The AA insurance are useless when handling an accident. Took 3 months to resolve a clear no fault case. Poor communication is an understatement as the repairer had to inform me of a total loss. Each call to the AA was over 1.5hr wait. Made 3 complaints, 2 ignored and one resolved failing to acknowledge the issues. Then after the matter was settle as a non fault claim, I got a a solicitors letter for the hire care charges asking me to prove I could not afford the hire fees. I rang the AA and they told my that yes I am liable and should have done what I can to limit costs! The AA we're the cause for taking 3 months to decide if my car was a total loss, not me and then they tell me I am liable. NEVER use this useless and incompetent money grabbing business. AX who handled the hire car however were very good.

My daughter broke down on the M4 at approx 6 pm on a Friday evening, informed she was a high priority told within the hour this turned into 3:12 minutes Towed to a service station and left in a lorry park on her own and was told by the recovery agent she had to re phone the AA Again false ETA,s given next unit arrives at 15 minutes after midnight. Even tho they said my daughter who was alone and distressed about being dumped in a deserted lorry park at night was a high priority they could not be honest or provide the service we were lead to believe she would get in the event of a break down. As this incident dragged on I her father drove to Bristol from Cornwall and arrived before the AA Poor communications from the AA and a very uncaring call operator from one of the call handlers The only positive was once the relay drivers arrived they were polite and professional and understanding of my daughters ordeal

I took out home insurance with AA as they where competitive, they made every excuse not to pay out during the recent storms , I had to get the financial ombudsman involved , the AA caused me unnecessary stress and worry dragged my claim on for months and tried every way they could to avoid paying out on a very small claim ,I advise you to spend your money with a company you can trust so you can have peace of mind you are actually covered if the need arises, I will not use AA again for any of my insurances

Hopeless, Called them out 7pm, finally arrived 1:30 am. Then I was told I’d have to call them again later that morning for a recovery vehicle which I did. That didn’t arrive until 3:30 pm so when I finally got it to the garage they couldn’t fix it until the following day. It was the first time I called them in ten years of being a member and I was really expecting better service than that.

2021 had problems with auto-renewal. Having the same problem this year. No idea why as my bank details haven't changed since 1988 and the auto-renewal worked fine for 10 years. Sick of phoning up trying to sort this out so I'm leaving despite being a member since 2010. Once upon a time you had to choose between RAC and AA. Thankfully now there's more choice.

Awful service. Following an accident the AA were called out to recover the vehicle. While I was in hospital I was called twice to say they couldn't find the car. You couldn't miss it! It was the one that was rammed into a bollard. The 3rd time they called to say they didn't know where the car is meant to go. My wife and son were in hospital following this accident, it's not something you should have to go into. Secondly how am I meant to know !?!? In the end we arranged for a local recovery garage to collect the car. No issues were there within 30 mins and took the car. Awful experience

They left me stranded 100 miles from home with a 2 year old because I wasn't allowed to use the service in the first 24 hours (?). This was 23 hours and 40 mins after taking the cover out.
