Turo continues to take advantage of its customers. Charging almost $200 more on top of the fees already for a little sand. Turo was a great company at first to rent from, but I will no longer be using Turo or recommending to to others. Turo takes days to reply to emails/requests and charged my card without my consent. STAY AWAY! Two years ago should have been a wake up call. Two years ago the host cancelled my rental and Turo did not notify me. After I landed I couldn't find the car. I contacted the host and he said he had told Turo to notify me that the car wasn't running and to cancel the reservation. Since we needed a car still we used an Uber which cost another $100 to get us to the condo. I was able to book another car with a different host then next day. Turo didn't care about the added cost and didn't respond to a request for a refund of the added cost. Turo is horrible in my opinion. This is coming from someone who has rented from Turo for the last 8 years. I will not continue renting with Turo anymore. Costs have also increased over the years and any added fees are quadruple of what they used to be. Turo is no longer worth it.

Renters beware! When the host cancels your rental 2 hours before pickup time, it basically ruins your trip. It's all within the rules too. $50 charge for the host unless they're an all star, in which case no charge. With the reduced traffic, Turo let's just about anyone be an all star, so you can see where that's going. Good luck, but if you're trip hinges on the rental, I'd recommend skipping Turo so you're not left out in the cold (or heat).

BEWARE! Turo sounds like a good concept but there are no back up vehicles if yours breaks down. Host, William Burch, was terrible. If he answered me it took hours. The worse was when he informed me the day before my trip that my car had no air conditioning! He was waiting on parts from out of the U.S. He could've gone to the local Fiat dealer and purchased the parts.

I think this company is good for renters but as a host the company does not care about us. If you do not follow the fine print process every single time turo will not cover incidents that occur with renters. I have had a person smoke in my car, Turo denied charging them. I had turo roadside assistance scrape my car and pop my door off the top hinge when a renter drained the battery, Turo has yet to cover that and even explained they couldn’t find the roadside assistance report. A guest didn’t fill up gas and because I hadn’t taken a photo of the gas gauge before the trip (I didn’t realize this was needed), turo denied to charge the renter. Don’t even get me started on them requiring everyone to use instabook. I really think overall the hassle and lack of care from the company is not worth making a bit of extra money with your car. I also have become more and more worried that turo will not cover a major incidence considering how quick they are to use every possible angle to get out of paying hosts for incidents that drivers create.

I FIRST WANT TO SAY MY FIRST TWO EXPERIENCES.WITH TURO HAVE BEEN AMAZING!! HOWEVER, If you are in Pennsylvania IN READING, ALLENTOWN, HARRISBURG , STATE COLLEGE AREA DO NOT RENT FROM CARLOS C WITH THE 2023 RED ACURA TLX A SPEC. HE FALSELY ACCUSES PEOPLE OF VIOLATING POLICIES. I WAS ACCUSED OF SMOKING IN HIS CAR WHICH IS FALSE. WHAT BOTHERS ME ABOUT THE SITUATION IS WHEN CARLOS MET ME FOR DROP OFF WE CHATTED FOR 20 MINUTES IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE. DIDNT MENTION ANYTHING TO ME. I THOUGHT WE HAD A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE SO I TRIED TO REBOOK A MONTH LATER WHICH HAPPENS TO BE TODAY AND I FOUND OUT THAT HE REMOVED ME FROM RENTING HIS VEHICLE. HE SENT ME A PICTURE HOLDING A PIECE OF SOMETHING SAYING HIS DETAILER FOUND IT IN HIS CAR AND BASED OFF THAT PICTURE THAT MEANS I WAS SMOKING? HE ASKED IF I COULD LEAVE A GOOD REVIEW WHICH I THOUGHT HE DESERVED BASED ON THE CAR BUT HIS ACTIONS AFTER WE PARTED WAYS REPRESENT UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES. IVE ALREADY EXPRESSED MY CONCERNS WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AS I FEEL HE SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM YOUR RENTING PLATFORM.

Turo is by far the worst company as costumer. Avoid at all costs and when I say this I really mean it. They don't care about the costumers. Service is terrible and communication with support is inexistent. The platform is very poor! Terrible experience Im still waiting for them to give me full refund on a car I never got as the host cancelled the night before but they charged me in full and nobody responds! So frustrating and annoying!

Beware. Rent from her at your own risk. I rented a car from Tanya P in Snellville GA. When I got the car it was 2 lights on the dashboard that was lit up. The motor light and seatbelt. light I contacted her regarding the lights were on. She informed me that it was fine to drive. Got almost to my destination. The car cut off and was stuck on interstate over 3 hrs. I contacted her and told her what had happened. She started the sensor was bad on the car, and her mechanic wasn't available to fix it. If you knew the car had problems, why rent it out?: Now she filed a claim against me for repairs. She stated there wasn't any coolant in the car and that lawnmower blade/debris on the highway caused damaged. As the person renting out vehicle it was her responsibility to make sure maintenance was done on the car. I have conversation and pictures I shared with her. If I knew then what I know now I wouldn't have rented from her.

TURO is awful. I registered with them, linked my account to google account. Provided credit card for payment, got verified and at the end of it I’m restricted to rent on TURO. 20+ years of driving in Canada. My criminal background is clean I have "PAL", my driving record is clean with no tickets or suspensions and they can’t give me an explanation as to why I can’t get approved to drive a car. Tried talking to customer service for a couple of weeks, but all you get is "team specialist" will review your request and send you back email with response. Same email over and over which states "we cannot disclose the reason why your account is restricted, have a nice day". They don't even bother to disclose persons name from customer service who sends email with response. This company is a joke. Wasted my time nothing. Check the pictures attached. Take your business somewhere else.

Turo sucks. I’ve been trying to rent from them have them all the info I need and said I’m restricted. I don’t have a bad driving history, no criminal background, tickets within the past 3 years and they can’t give me an explanation as to why I can’t get approved to drive a car. Has anyone else had this experience? Also customer service sucks!

I planned a family trip to Hawaii for about a year. I had everything ready, I couldn’t believe when on the same day of my flight, 3 hours before, I got a text from Turo company stating that my car rental was canceled. I didn’t know if I wanted to cry, I was shocked since I never thought Turo would do this to me. The explanation that I received was that the car owner didn’t follow the correct procedures to do maintenance on the car, which I understood, however why 3 hours before. The “solution” they offered me was to rent other car, which I only got 3 options, and I would have to pay from $200-$500 more then what I was already paying!! This was the worst experience ever, I will never rent a car from this company!!

Turo is a host friendly app. They don’t protect guests. My host, Pavlo K. from BK, is a scammer. I have evidence he didn’t know about bc I had an inkling he would pull something. He claimed falsified damages the next morning after return from the previous night. The host has 24 hours to report damages which is ridiculous. Anything can happen between that timeframe on their end. I asked his wife to check it over and she declined and said “it was ok”. Now I know why she declined. I took quick pics of the exterior and uploaded onto the app thinking everything is fine bc I returned their own in the same condition they gave me in the beginning. The host took the opportunity to create his own damages according to the shadows and reflections on the car in my pics. I have to go through unnecessary dispute with Turo. Turo doesn’t have an adjuster that goes out to observe the damages physically. They go by pics, which is another disgusting way of handling things. The host wants the $500 out of pocket and sent Turo a bill for over $500! I gave him a negative review and Turo took it down! Don’t not rent via Turo. This was my first and last time. I’ll pay a little extra and rent from the big companies the next time

If I could give them 0 stars I would. They scam you and nivklr and find you. They had no place for me to return the car and even though I left the key under the tire with a photo they charged me a lost key fee of $300 when I tried to fight the bogus claim they harassed me and threatened to send it to collections. I will never use them again. Use Kyte. Professional and friendly. Convenient as they bring and pick up the car.

Turo has been terrible! The few cars we got were really dirty, one had a smashed windshield, then the host filed a claim that I did it. Don't bother! When I checked the rental car prices it was the same as turo you are not saving money and putting yourself at greater risk. Your insurance won't cover turo, they will cover normal rentals but will not cover someones car you borrowed. Go traditional rental. Its been such a nightmare.

If I could give a -10, I sure would. This was one of the worst experience I have ever had in Orlando, FL. This actually was my wedding weekend! You think they gave a damn! Nope! It was all about the dollar. I was suppose to return the vehicle at 10 am, but I needed an extension for 4 hours and they charged me the same amount I paid for a whole day! Thats terrible! Also, i extended for 4 hours which at the time was before 2 pm. They talking about they have to approve a vehicle. She disapproved the vehicle the next day, and then the host sent me a review, i filled it out and gave a 5 star, then after i submitted it she sent me a bill for $282 saying that she did not approve the extension. Now i am hot as fish grease! I have already used the vehicle and returned it and she just now submitting it saying it was not authorized. Turo, yall need to get it together! Yall will be going out of business if you dont do something about the issues. This is not a company, this is a rip off! I will NEVER use you all again. I paid more for a cadillac then i did for 2 15 passenger vans and another SUV! After I called to dispute some of the bill, lke the admin fee, late payment , and taxes, and the insurance, if i paid for it once, why do we need to repay for something we have already paid for. Rediculous. They say I will have to pay the $241+ the mentioned fees above. Your company is a disgrace to any other car rental company! I hope ppl read these reviews and see that yall are money hungry and will nickel and dime ppl for any penny! I will be adding messages from the cohost. Sadly, i can't wait to tell ALL my friends and family to NEVER use a TURO company.

First of all the employees are extremely rude & not corportative. You can not get a supervisor on the phone. Literally have been calling them weekly for my $200.00 deposit that has not been refunded. They keep saying someone will call within 24 to 48 hours and still nothing.. DO NOT USE TURO!!!!! THEY WILL KEEP YOUR REFUND AND TELL YOU THAT THEY DID AND IT YOUR BANKS FAULT!

They add a fee to the cost of the car that's the same price as the car, so you pay double in addition to tax and fees. The car I booked said it was available without human contact through the app, but I had to arrange to meet the host, I had to message him 10 minutes prior to arrival, not what I expected. After I uploaded an annoying photo of my face holding my driver's license, the host asked me to do it again when I picked up the car. I booked a car for one day and was encouraged to pay the extra $20 insurance fee, even though I have good insurance, when I went to extend the trip, I was told I had to keep the daily fee of $20 or go through the annoying process of canceling my current trip and rebooking it. I was told the rate my be higher when I rebooked the trip, when I asked how much the rate would be, I was told it was up to the host and that Turo had no knowledge of what the rate would be. During my entire trip I was warned I was being tracked by apple air tag. I could not WAIT to return this car, I felt super stressed driving it like I was being monitored. To make matters worse, they don't tell you until the end that you have to wash the car before you return it. The car was totally clean, but there was some dust from sitting under a tree outside. A car wash costs minimum of $25 in Los Angeles, add a tip plus the time to drive to the car wash and sit and wait for it, so not worth it.

Turbo canceled our car while we were in flight (booked well in advance). Apparently our rented car was in an accident weeks earlier and nobody bothered to tell us. Upon landing , learned car canceled. We had rented a brand new 2024 jeep Cherokee . After waiting at airport for hours and Turo scrambling - they put us in a 2019 doge caravan with 110,000 miles on it- not really safe to drive and charged us the premium for booking last minute. While u have enjoyed Turo experiences in the past - this was terrible customer service . We would have never rented that car for that price and its condition, but in a bind for a college graduation and no rental cars available.

I have been a verified 4.8 rated user of Turo for months now. I am really taken back that my account was deleted due to no fault of mine at all. The Customer Service Executive Rep name Stephanie decided to investigate a matter that caused them to have to pay for a rental extension. I called in to inquire about the pricing for my rental. The host was nice enough to only charge me $46. daily rate but Turo was charging me way more. I tried to contact them about this. Because I had to deal with this matter for 2 days straight one rep decided he would grant a credit for the taxes and fees. I said ok and I will pay for the remainder. Well another rep then got on and because I had more questions he was unable to answer. She then continued to assist, she also stated that the $198 additional fees would be a credit. I said ok and allowed her to continue with the issue. She never ever ever stated that the vehicle extension would be an additional $312 dollars and she continued with whatever she did without me knowing the actual cost. This led to my account now having a $113 balance because I only authorized a rental extension for $198 not $312. So again, they had to credit my account due to miscommunication by the rep. Moving forward and Stephanie decided to re-investigate a case that to my knowledge was resolved and closed. She also decided to cancel my account as well as falsely accuse me of Community Guideline Violation. I had to suffer my account being closed because Turo customer service continued to give me misleading information and I continued to hold them accountable. They do not like to be held accountable for mis leading the customer it will result in your account being deleted. Oh, I told them I was going to contact the owner of Turo, and this was the result...A terminated account.
