Tyre was fitted, first time I took the car out one of the wheel nuts fell off nearly causing a serious accident. Took it to the garage and they inspected it and one other wheel nut was also loose, seriously bad and very dangerous

Good service from Darren. Came out to sort tyre weighting, which was slightly off when another fitter had put them on a couple of days before. Polite, explained what he’d done. Pleased to see Halfords put this right so promptly

I ordered a new battery for my car (mini cooper) as it was showing low charge warning. The fitter arrived on time and replaced the battery. I asked if it req'd coding as most cars with stop/start need this to be done. The fitter said it did not as long as any warning lights go out (he did not plug anything into the car to tell him whether it needed to be reset or not). So it appears that they make the decision themselves and not follow any manufacturer's recommendations. After he left, I refreshed my knowledge of how the system works on these cars and saw that it did need coding as the car will continue to charge the new battery at the same rate as it did for the old degraded one which could adversely affect battery life, economy and the car's electrical components. I made a call to the number on my order and they confirmed that it req'd coding and made an appointment for this to be done. On the day of the appointment I received a call to say they would not be attending and to just drive the car for 15 minutes and it will learn itself that it has a new battery and everything will start to work. As the stop/start began to work they said everything was as it should be and the fitter was right to say it wasn't required. This did not explain the fact that the charging system had not been reset. The fitting information online when you purchase a battery explains that professional fitting is advised as it could cause damage to the vehicle's electrical system if not. This is the only reason I chose to have it fitted. The amount of stress and time spent complaining to people who were not listening was not worth it. After over a week of emails backwards and forwards and receiving the same explanation, I was getting nowhere so I contacted my local Halfords garage and explained to them the trouble I was having to just to get the service that I'd payed for. They fitted me in and got my battery coded in 5 minutes with no problem. I would say that if you need a battery, Do not use tyres on the drive. Go to your local Halfords garage and have it fitted. Tyres on the drive are giving Halfords a bad name. Cars systems could be getting damaged and needing costly repairs as a result of the lack of knowledge about these systems, and you will struggle to prove liability should anything go wrong leaving you with a rather large repair bill. It only takes 1 bad experience to stop you using certain companies and word of mouth goes a long way I will never use these again on the back of their unwillingness to put a job right, and I gave them ample opportunity! Thank you to Halfords garage though for putting it right!

Paid over £400, Arranged a fitting day and as it turns out they didn't even have the stock, worse still they sent me confirmation texts and emails on the day confirming a time, didn't find out until late afternoon that they weren't turning up... thanks for completing wasting my day

On the 21st of November 2020 I placed an order for a dash cam to be fitted 5th December. The day before installation, they phoned me to say that they hadn't got any of the model of dash cam in stock and would have to order one. By now they had taken full payment for it. The installation was rescheduled for 9th December. The technician turned up but couldn't carry out the work because he didn't have the correct fuse adapter for my vehicle. I had already given the make, model and registration of my vehicle so they knew exactly what they were fitting it to. The installation was rescheduled (after I had to chase them) for 12th December. One minute before the technician's ETA, I had a phone call to say he had phoned in sick. The installation was rescheduled for 16th December. The installation finally went ahead and all was well until I used the car for the first time today (18th December). After a journey of about 6 miles, the power cables dropped from under the dash board and got wrapped around the brake pedal. Not only could this have caused and accident, but now the dash cam isn't working. They now want me to wait until they can find a technician.

Booked via Halfords website for new battery fitted, they never turned up, system fault apparently. Three weeks later can’t get my money back, they lie, promise to call or to sort refund but do neither. AWFUL COMPANY DO NOT USE

Avoid. Fitter didn't turn up on two separate occasions with no communication from the company. Wasted hours waiting in for them to turn up and not even a courtesy notification. On top of this still no refund after over a month and no response to complaint emails. Abysmal service, they obviously don't care about their customers and with no refund does this mean this is another company in financial trouble? Shame if they are and for their workers but a trend at the moment unfortunately. Just want my money back, is that too much to ask?

I urge you never to use this company, they let you down, lie to you, gaslight you and it is impossible to speak to a person who can actually action a refund. Tyres on the Drive have purposefully held on to my money since the 23rd October despite never fulfilling my order. On 23rd October, I booked and paid for wiper blades to be fitted to my car on my drive on 25th October between 4pm and 6pm. Thought this was a safer and more convenient service to offer during the current pandemic. However, no one arrived and they didnt even have the courtesy or the decency to make contact to explain and cancel. I sent an email requesting a refund and explanation on the evening of the 25th and to this day, 18 days later, the email remains unanswered. I have now made FIVE calls requesting a refund. The first time, on 26th October I was on hold waiting to be answered for 1 hour and 45 mins. They eventually answer and I’m told they dont know why no one turned up to fit (?!) and that my refund is being processed with a 2-3 days turnaround. 2-3 days came and went. No refund. Called another 4 times with varying wait times of 30mins-1hr all since 23rd October demanding my money back, to be told all sorts of nonsense excuses about new systems, changing information given to staff, coronavirus and god knows what else as to why I wasnt refunded. I have been given a number of ‘last day for refund’ dates which of course were never adhered to. The last person I spoke to on 5th November told me THE VERY LATEST refund date would be 9th November. Well its now 12th November and STILL NO REFUND. I have read other reviews with similar experiences of witholding funds both on here and on Google. Therefore, I have reported this to the bank as a fraud. There is no legitimate and lawful reason that this company refuses to refund me. Every penny counts during this pandemic and this company should be ashamed the way they treat their customers!! I am sick of taking time of out my already busy working day as a keyworker to contact these people begging for my money back! Almost £40 lost is just totally unacceptable. Maybe placing such a damning review on here will get me a response?

Booked 16:00 - 18:00 time slot. Nobody bothered turning up. Their office closes at 17:30 on a Sunday so couldn’t call. Stayed in all evening just in case they were running late. No luck

Did not go at all well. The tyres were fitted but then couldn't be balanced because the machine was broken – unfortunate, car now not usable at speed, but not a disaster. Expected to someone to come back same day or at the very latest next day. The service from Halfords after that was terrible. They tried but failed three times to get it booked for the subsequent 2 days to carry out the balancing. I spent approx 3 hours on hold overall (took about 30 minutes per call to get through to someone), took a day off work waiting only for them not to turn up. After that phoned again and they said I needed to wait in again and someone would call me to arrange a new time. Didn’t trust that attempt #4 would be any better than attempt #3 so gave up and took the car to a local fitter to complete the wheel balancing, who did it while I waited in 20min. I've asked for a partial/full refund but they said no – not even the mobile fitting price. Originally paid extra for the brand ‘name’ of Halfords, won’t do so again – will use a local firm.

I rang at 16.24. They completed my tyre at 17.00. Fabulous service.

Don't assume that when you pay for your chosen 2 hour slot that it means the job will be done within that time period. Turns out it's only when they expect to turn up and make a start on the work, so if you need to be somewhere using your nice new tyres you could well be scuppered. This is not made clear at all. My fitter missed the slot completely and ended up delaying me by almost an hour. He was polite and got the job done. Let down by the poor logistics.
