About Virgin Experience Days:

Virgin Experience Days was launched in March 2001 under the name of Virgin Experience. Originally offering experiences to corporate clients as a way of incentivising staff and customers, the company rapidly expanded to bring the Virgin values of quality, innovation, value for money and fun to the consumer experience gift market.
The summer of 2003 was a real milestone for Virgin Experience. In our continual quest to bring the best experiences and unrivalled service, we joined forces with Acorne Sports. Founded in 1988, Acorne Sports is the original experience company and it’s their stamp of approval that confirms our pedigree and ability to deliver unforgettable experiences. Acorne ’s unrivalled reputation, knowledge and relationship with all of the featured centres made them the perfect partners for Virgin Experience, a company dedicated to making sure customers have the very best time. By teaming up, we are able to challenge the way every experience is provided and offer once-in-a-lifetime gifts backed up by friendly service staff with first-hand knowledge.

I am writing this review as a very unhappy Customer. We were given a two night traditional inn break for a 50th birthday present last year at the end of August. It has an expiry date of 07/08/2022. I thought I would try and get the voucher redeemed and booked only to discover that every hotel I try to book is not taking bookings for the period of Jun-Aug!!! This is absolutely ridiculous because it means that you basically cannot go to any of the popular places in the summer months! I was offered other venues that are not even listed on the Virgin website and are basically places that people don’t really want to go to in peak time. You are advertising on your website that you can stay in places like Devon,Dorset,Isle of wight etc but the reality is you cannot actually stay at any of these places from Jun-Aug!!! I am told that these hotels are fully booked which is utter rubbish as I have been on their own websites and there are loads of availability. This is a total con and false advertising.I will not ever recommend buying one of these vouchers ever again!!! The customer service is appalling as you cannot speak to anyone and the website has basically no contact details at all apart from a robot chat!!! I have many photos i can send to you if necessary showing the places you list and the fact that one of the hotels has only 18 rooms and 12 of them are still available for the dates that I wanted!!! Absolutely rubbish and a complete con fir genuine customers who have paid good money!!!

I was given the Assassin's Creed Experience by a friend for Christmas during Lockdown. Due to Covid continuing for longer than expected, I need to extend the voucher but it is impossible. Website says that vouchers can be extended within 3 months of expiry dates (which I am currently still in) but then contradicts this offer by ambiguously stating that 'this voucher has expired and cannot be extended' but with no further explanations. The website leads you round in circles with no definitive solutions, the company is now phoneless, and there is no messaging or email available to use. I am extremely disappointed in the service that has been provided, particularly aftercare once the product has been purchased. This has left such a sour taste that the possibility of recommending Virgin Experience Days to anyone or using ourselves is unfathomable. Never again. The only experience I have had with Virgin Experience Days has been to be ripped off Scam

I bought 4 tickets for the Thames Sightseeing Hop On Hop Off Cruise for Two experience day and was looking forwrd o take my wife and my foreign, elderly in-laws on a fantastic cruise along the Thames. Imagine my shock when I arrived at the City Cruise kiosk to collect our tickets only to be told that our Virgin experience is actually a one-wy ticket from Greenwhich to Westminster!! Moreover, if we want to return back to Greenwhich then we would have to buy new tickets on the Uber boats (which we did) and the cost for the return journeywas more expensive that the outbound journey. I feel that I've been blatantly ripped off and getting hold of anyone at Virgin Experience is impossible. I fully intend to take small claims court action against Virgin Experience if my complaint isn't resolved and sharpish.

Have emailed several times as I am looking to extend my vouchers due to COVID (which their web site isn't allowing me to do) and have a Stag do that requires to be booked within the next couple of days - last is my last ditch a getting this sorted as there is now other way of getting in contact. Virgin Experience Days if you are monitoring theses reviews please get in contact and will be more than happy to amend my review if everything is resolved.

The vouchers arrived well after Christmas and LONG after the agreed delivery of 3-5 working days. As you say it is impossible to contact them. They have nobody you can telephone and messages are NEVER answered. I contacted my bank to get refunded. HSBC said they would deal with the matter and arranged to make a case against Virgin. Virgin Experience, hitherto unreachable, refunded my money the next day.

Have been trying to contact them for a week - with absolutely no response. They say they are available by phone - not true. The phone message says they are now 'phoneless'. They say you can use 'Live Chat' - not true. I've tried for a week, it has never been available. Email? Yes, I've tried - no response. Is there anybody there? Certainly won't be buying any more vouchers from them. Just hope my delivery comes sometime :(

Scam Scam Scam, Do Not Go with this experience I purchased 3 vouchers to experience the Shard and have 3 meal course at London Steakhouse co. The Shard experience was great, but when I booked a table at the London Steakhouse I had to wait nearly 2 months for a table, on the day we were told we only have £165 voucher to spend. So there was not three course meal nor any welcoming drink. I end up paying £349 on the top of the £165 voucher. My bill was £514, we had 2 cocktails, one glass of wine and 2 mojito cocktail. This is a scam, they promise you some thing but you end up paying twice for you getting. I wouldn't recommend such a experience with Virgin Experience days, just get what ever you desire directly from the provider,

I am waiting for response from the Virgin Experience admin team to activate my vouchers. In order to activate, I have to email the admin team as per the staff's instruction. There have been endless conversations via messenger for over 1 month and still waiting for my vouchers to be activated. I am very sad and disappointed.

There IS NO OPTION FOR ZERO STARS! I bought my Mom a spa day for her 70th birthday April 2020. Due to covid 19 my mom was unable to use this voucher. Its expired in September, Virgin Experience have been phoneless so my Mom was unable to deal with this. I have tried to help but its obvious that they've had the £140 and they aren't offering any kind of exchange. Daylight robbery... never again.

Very disappointing, waited 2 years to be able to use our stargazing voucher, finally got it booked but couldn’t travel because of the recent storm. Asked to be moved to an event later in the year, no chance. Voucher now worthless!

I have tried to get an email address or a phone number from Virgin Experience and all you can use is this silly on line chat that is so annoying. I booked an experience pre covid and then have had problems using it as it was cancelled twice and now no-one is answering emails so I have come back to Virgin and you cannot speak to anyone!

Because of Covid I need to extend five vouchers but it is impossible. The website leads you round in circles, they are phonless, there is no messaging or email. I will lose a substantial amount of money which I suspect is what they want. Never again. The only experience I have had is a Rip Off.

We attended the Soul Supper at Proud Cabaret, 1 Mark Lane, EC3R 7AH at 6.30pm Saturday 13th November 2021. Firstly, the positive stuff the band, DJ and crowd were fantastic making a great atmosphere and night. Now to the negative stuff. We were put at a table with a massive pillar in front of us obscuring the stage (see attached photo). This was very disappointing as we had paid a lot of money for this table! We felt that the drink prices were ridiculously high. £8 plus a service charge for 330ml bottle of beer is the highest price I have ever seen for beer in the world, it would be £3 in a pub. This meant that our first round of a glass of wine and 2 bottles of beer came to £28! The food. This was so poor. Firstly, our original food was cold on arrival. Our second attempt was a bit hotter but not hot enough, but we couldn’t face asking again for it to be changed. What a strange mix of food it was in a cardboard box. Raw green beans, a massive amount of coleslaw and a rice and spicy chicken mix. It was worse than airline food and not worth serving. To add insult the chocolate brownie substitute was a poor cupcake! I think you need to look at the food and decide if it really is worth having at this standard. I wanted to let you know as I think feedback for such events is important. The show was great 5 star the food and drink and table were zero stars.
