High street giant WHSmithstores reported its highest sales figures in 14 years. Also, data shows 8% rise in annual profits. It is massive success for this retailer. What’s been behind the strong performance of WHSmith? firstly, selling not only reading material secondly, growing demand for food and drink on-the-go also, separating its travel and high street stores with different stocking priorities traveling stores, found in airports and rail stations, now stock over 50% food, drinks and confectionery affordable food options, cheaper than for example M&S etc. popularity of its tasty meal deals also, this retailer teamed up with Zoella, one of the most popular and high profile YouTubers, to launch a brand new book club. It was very exciting move. in addition, increasing brand awareness and driving sales also, this retailer has managed to capitalise on the recent trend for the digital detox – a reaction against the often all-consuming nature of modern technology the popularity of bullet journals and other non-digital productivity methods could also be behind the surge. Despite sales of colouring books waning slightly in the last quarter, the retailer has still seen strong stationery sales. By noticed need for convenience and partnering with social influencers, WHSmith has managed to satisfy the changing needs of consumers.

Never order from WHSmiths online. Like other reviewers, I ordered something for store collection that was listed as being in stock, should have arrived in 2-3 days according to their website - but it simply never arrived. After four calls and two emails I've told them to cancel the order, and they said they'd do so and refund me immediately - but they haven't even managed to do that. It looks like they're trying to keep the book and keep my money.

I ordered my whole set of panini F1 cars and magazines from the Beckenham Branch of WH Smith with a 20.00GBP deposit thinking they could supply my collection without any problems. Wishful thinking by the 3rd issue they had returned or sold my order. The manager told me not to worry as he was on my case and I was to leave the problem to him, well he did get me a replacement. I went in the shop to collect issue 13 and 14 as I had been away for 2 weeks holiday well our personal folder had gone from behind the counter and the same manager told me his staff had sold our paid order. I ask for my 20.00GBP deposit back and left the shop and I wont be returning as these items have just cost me 11.00GBP above normal cost to keep my collection complete............................

I am very dissapointed with whsmith. The occasions cards which are sold uncovered are not put into card paper bags to protect them, instead you expect customers to pay 5p for a carrier bag. If you are selling cards like that you should at least put them into a paper bag for customers. I will not be buying anymore cards from you.

I ordered a book online for in store collection. I was told that it would take 5-7 working days and after 2 weeks I received an email saying my order would be with me shortly and they would keep me posted. Three weeks later after I had not heard anything I called in store to check if it had arrived. My book had finally arrived but wasn't what I ordered. I had ordered a hardback and the paperback version was what was delivered.

This book is about a female dog cllead Bonnie who goes on an adventure. She wins a rosette from the Mayor saying: BEST IN SHOW'. What I really like about this book is that it is my type(adventurous). This story made me believe in myself. I was whizzing through the book to see what it would end like. My favorite character would be Bonnie because she is very brave, clever, she is confident with whatever she's doing and is always impressive. She has her head is up high, just like proud dog.
