Brand new tree with lights that flicker sometimes and are fine at other times. Also the lights go real dim then come back real bright. I called for a replacement but was out of stock and was told they could only replace with same tree. Also was told from 1st call to CS that the flickering was suppose to be like flickering candles. My tree was up it was December my new tree wouldn’t come till September. After asking for a supervisor I asked for some suggestions as to what the problem could be, she suggested checking the fuses and replacing them. I had no extra fuses in the bag with other items and the plug they showed in the booklet was different on my tree-it did not open for replacing fuses. I asked could a different tree be sent, again there was nothing they could do except send tree back for refund or wait 9 months for a new one. I had spent a long time researching tree quality and companies, I thought I had succeeded-I was wrong on both counts. Even understanding that I could have a defective tree the fact that their CS is so very poor is a huge disappointment and has left me very upset and unwilling to recommend them to anyone. Beware!

I ordered a tree. They claimed it was delivered but nothing showed up on the ring or with the neighbors. They sent a replacement. It took NINE months to get. The new box sat unopened in 2020 (COVID) and 2021 (out of town so no need to decorate). I opened the NEW box last week and two sections did not work. Per the website we troubleshot. Nothing. I called and explained and BH said "too bad so sad." I am out $1000 dollars. Buyers beware! Never again.

Paid $1,800 for a tree that stopped lighting after 3 uses. The electronic ballast went bad and the Balsam Hill Christmas tree company does not sell parts to replace the parts that go bad. They advise to string lights since the ballast no longer works. Too high of a price to pay for a tree that lacks replacement parts!

Worst and nastiest customer service you will ever encounter in the USA. My tree was way overpriced but does look nice, but I still feel cheated by their slick "sales" promotions. Buyer beware is all I can say because if you read all the reviews especially on other sites you will see how many families had their Christmas ruined by this company.

Only received the bottom part of the tree. This company lied to me 3 times! twice claiming it was on the way then a 3rd time claiming they were very sorry and upgraded the shipping so we would have the rest of the tree in 2 days .. 2 day later-we called and asked for the tracking # and they said they would email it. Instead we received an email instantly saying the tree was now out of stock. Balsam hill is not doing anything to make this right. I would never recommend this company to anyone. A true nightmare before Christmas as we have our annual Christmas party in 2 days. Thanks a bunch for the 2 weeks you spent lying to me when I could have just ordered a different tree. Shipping issues aside- this tree was super heavy and we only received 1 box out of 3.. maybe this was a blessing in disguise because storage for this 6 piece situation would have been dreadful… also we did set up the bottom part of the tree we fid get and it was just as messy if not more than the real thing ( flocked tree) something to think about… End of the story … went out and got a real tree…

I had a Balsalm Hill tree for 10 years and decided to sell it when I moved. It was a great tree. So I bought another one for my new house in October. I bought the same tree I had, or thought I had—their “most realistic” one for $592.92. I foolishly thought it would be the same quality as my previous one, but sadly it was not even close. The branches were very cheap-looking plastic, with no realistic brown stem colorations like the previous versions. Since I was outside the return period, they would not do a refund or even an exchange—forget about actually talking to anyone in person. I could only ”chat” with a someone who did nothing more than reiterate their “policy”. I have no doubt anyone could find this quality of tree at a much better price elsewhere. I short, DO NOT RELY ON BALSALM HILL’S PREVIOUS REPUTATION.

We purchased a tree for last year, the lower side of the tree was out! This year I put it up and now the lower side, up to the middle is out.. such poor quality! Never again horrible warranty and you can not reach anyone..

we bought the flocked tree. first year everything was great. by about the third or fourth year whole strings of lights were going out. I replaced all the light bulbs, replaced the "master bulb and fuse and they still don’t work. called customer service and of course the tree is out of warranty- big surprise. and of course they don't sell the master bulb and the normal lights are not a standard replacement that someone like walmart sells so you can only buy them through balsam hill. well this year after dealing with a failed string we wove in a string bought from walmart. three days later after the tree was fully decorated the last string burnt out. now we have to undo the decorations, buy a replacement string and thread it through the branches. NEVER buy a pre-lit tree from them!

We received a tree with fairy lights as a gift 4 years ago. Now 2 strands have gone out and customer service (can hardly be called that) told us too bad there’s nothing they can do. Worst customer experience I have ever had. Personally I will never buy anything from Balsam Hill again. Please be aware if you are upgrading to the fairy lights that there is no way to troubleshoot when they go out.

Purchased the tree four years ago, after five hours of fluffing the tree still has holes. Last year two sections of lights went out, this year two more. The only section of lights that now work are in the very top. This is absolutely ridiculous for the amount of money that was spent. Customer Service was rude and no help at all. Do not waste your money or time with this company!!

I have purchased garlands and wreaths from Balsam Hill. The items are only used indoors to decorate the tops of cabinets and doorways. The items are then stored in their original boxes and kept in the house. This year, several of the garlands had lights out in several sections. I contacted customer service and was told it was probably a bulb or the wiring. Duh. Really? Before discovering this, I purchased a garland, of the same design, to add to the railing. When I discovered the others weren't working I contacted Balsam Hill to ask for an exchange. The new box had not been opened. Well, wouldn't you know it, they can't do anything because it's after thirty days. Ewell, I'm done with the company.

I spoke with customer service because I wanted a twinkle light Christmas tree. Instead I was sold a clear light and colored light tree that doesn’t twinkle. I spend $1,400 on a tree I don’t want.

Do NOT buy any 'pre-lit' products! The full string of lights rarely lasts more than one season. You will waste a significant amount of time trying to replace bulbs and the tiny fuses, but to no avail. If you must buy something buy the unlit versions and string them yourself. I just hung my garland, and for the second time in four years a whole section is unlit. Last year I spent three hours completely unstringing the dead lights from a tree no more than two years old. They clamp and twist and bind the lights so they are a chore to get off. So this year I knew I would have to string the tree. Now I guess I have about three hours of unstringing a garland and restringing it. Serves me right for being lazy. Avoid the pre-lit products!!

Every year I am dealing with the stupid lights. I replaced all the light bulbs, replaced the master light and fuse and they still don’t work. Why is the wiring on these trees so complicated!!! NEVER AGAIN

Every year since 2018 there were warranty issues, after 3 years of issues, they sent replacement tree which was not the same tree, I called to discuss this the rep said "you are out of warranty now, sorry we can not help you" $900.0 Christmas tree and I am just supposed to settle , Unreal.

This is our second year using this tree. A LOT of the tips are snapping off the branches! I got it on sale but expected a lot better quality than what I got. If many more of the tips fall off, I will have a bald tree. Not the quality I expected, not even close!

I know you'll say this is too late and no order or tracking information, but I ordered a tree several years ago. I waited for delivery and waited and waited. I contacted the company and nobody knew anything. They said they would ship another. Several days later a tree arrived. It is not anywhere near quality and I could have bought better looking trees at Walmart or Home Depot for much less. This happened during the COVID peak. I called to ask about the other tree that had been shipped as I wanted to wait and see if it looked any better. The person I spoke with was rude and said...Well, you got one didn't you? and hung up! The only reason I kept the tree is because it was too late to search for another before Christmas. It is an embarrassment when I put it up. I make certain I tell everyone I bought it at Balsam Hill and paid a ridiculous price for such a mess. I ordered a skinny tree and it is that, but quality is totally lacking and customer service is horrible.

Purchased a Christmas tree for over $1,000. Worked for the first year. The next year lights in the lower section wouldn’t work. They replaced the lower section of the tree. Little did we know that we should have insisted on an entire new tree as a year later the same problem happened with a different section of the tree and they won’t do anything as they say the tree is no longer under warranty. We will not deal them again and will be sure to forewarn others. $1,000 for one year of an operational tree is not acceptable! Would have given a 0 for rating if possible!

Worst decisions ever to purchase from this company. I thought this would be a great tree for my elderly mother. First year the pre lite tree worked, second year I had to replace more than half of the lights. This year none of the lights work, branches are loose and drooping, and branch tips are loose and falling off. Never purchase from this company, cheap product, not worth the money you pay. Better choice to buy from your local store for better value.

This is the worst company that I have ever dealt with. I gave it a 1 star because a 0 was not available. They have lied to us, misrepresented their product and are genuinely clueless. Customer service is virtually nonexistent. We did make the mistake of purchasing a tree but didn't like it when we got it so when we contacted them to return it, much to our surprise, there was a $25.oo per box to return it. (The tree we ordered came in 2 boxes). I feel that have cheated/robbed me of $50.00 and that is just shameless. I will NEVER do business with these clowns again. They are just worthless in my opinion. We opted for a very nice and beautiful tree from Lowes for at least a 1/3 of what balsam charges. This was after checking trees out at Home Depot, Lowes and Walmart. You would be smart to do the same and not do business with such a worthless company. .
