After a diligent search for a realistic look tree my wife settled on Balsam Hill. A cousin has one she has had for years and loved it. The customer service to place the order was great, helpfully explaining the details of the process, and answering questions about warranty and returns. Paid extra for two day shipping, and the tree arrived on time, late one evening... but wait there’s more! The next morning when I unpacked the contents and inspected the tree I found a connection point and be drastically damaged in shipping. I called customer (no) service and was told it would tAke several hours to a day to process. I called later in the day to find my cased had been misrepresented in the file with customer (no) service, and that even though I paid for expedited shipping, a replacement would take over a week more to arrive. I canceled my order and requested a return, which they gladly fulfilled, but left all the details on me to schedule a FedEx pick up, which I have currently been on hold with for an hour...!!! If I could give BalSam hill a zero star I would... Don’t waist your time, with their friendly approach earlier in the process; you will regret it.

I read the first few reviews here and I have had the similar experience. I bought a wreath last year. I used it for about 3 weeks. When I turned it on this year non of the lights worked. Customer service said there was nothing they could do.......And I didn’t feel they cared at all that they couldn’t help. Basically said “sorry”. I paid the premium expecting performance and service. I got neither. Never again will I buy from balsam hill. No wonder people are conditioned to buy on “lowest cost”. They all perform the same!

The tree’s are over priced and do not last. Customer Service is awful once you have issues. Do yourself a favor and go buy a tree at Lowe’s.

Do not buy from this company. I purchased one of their trees several years ago. When it arrived, the flimsy box was badly torn. When I set up the tree, I was VERY disappointed. The plastic is very cheap, the branches are too far apart and it looks fake. I wanted to send it back but I didn't have the box. The cheapest tree at Walmart is better than the tree I bought!

The first two seasons, this 7.5 foot tree was beautiful. The third season, half the branches would not light. No amount of trouble shooting would bring it back to life. After covering the dark branches with strings of lights to make it passable for the season, branches continued to go out. The lighting on this pre-lite tree is pure junk. Never again anything from Balsam Hill.

We were looking to replace a 16 year old incandescent Christmas tree with an up-to-date LED type. Our extensive research pointed to Balsam Hill to order our new tree. What a mistake. The first tree arrived before Thanksgiving damaged. The bottom of one of the sections was destroyed in shipping and when we called customer service to explain how we thought the damage occurred, they sent a replacement section packed the same way in too small a box and this was also damaged for which we sent pictures to the company showing the problem. It is now almost the second week of December and was sent a delayed notification that there are no more trees in stock. The time wasted from talking to customer service and being placed on hold, transferred to different departments, telling me to call shipping the next day to tell them how to ship the product, etc was frustrating to say the least. It has been three weeks since the time of the initial order until today and our family still doesn't have a tree up for Christmas which has been terribly disappointing to my children/family. While many things might be okay to order from this company, a tree is NOT one of them and this experience has been so bad that I don't think we would ever order anything from them again considering our experience from this, their repeating the same mistake, and the less than ideal experience with some of their customer service reps. I rarely write reviews but feel compelled to when I either A) receive great service (5 stars) or B) have a terrible experience (one star) like this. We do lots of online ordering each year and know problems can occur. When you order from a supposedly reputable place, especially one specializing in holiday decor, one would think that they would know how to ship and/or be able to track their inventory when one is out-of-stock and not wait almost a week to tell a customer this information, especially around Christmas. I think I was most disappointed during the customer service aspect because some of their agents really sounds like they could care less about the problem we had because they were either short staffed (which would explain the long wait time) or they are underpaid and don't give a rip about the customer. Most disappointing. I am waiting to see how long a refund will take to process as the last interaction I just had today, I was told to await a call in the future to start the refund process...yeah, right.

Been waiting on my tree for over a week. Delivery date they gave was not accurate. Party at my home tonight with no tree. Very disappointing!

This Balsam Hills thousand dollar Chrismas tree is the single. most regretful purchase I have ever made. I really need to suck it up, throw it away and move on. This tree is always a crunched up, wire mangled, limb tweaked, holy mess no matter what. I have watched endless videos, read instructions again and again and no one can get this tree to look like decent. I have painstakingly put it away and fluffed. These branches don't hold ornaments up, i need to shove my ornament between brances to hold them. There are tinsel like branches that are to fill the look of the tree that crunches up and falls off and the plastic branches get tweaked and never go back to shape and I mean out of the original box. If a light goes out good luck. the branches are so scratchy it is unpleasant to touch. and the star...well your probably going to buy it anyway like I did cause it has to be amazing and easy. heehee. ugh goodluck

Got my tree and lights didn’t work on one part. Customer service trouble shooting asked me if I plugged it in. Still waiting for the section that is out. I am extremely frustrated.

Tree ok but lights not fitted properly & small branch fell off as I got out of box. Awful customer services- no help - no call back. Absolute joke. Don’t waste money on these trees

Spent $1100 on Christmas tree in 2015 (used 3 Christmases). This year in 2019 the plastic thing that holds the wires for lights broke making the tree only usable without the lights. When speaking to representative at Balsam Hill, she could not help in telling me where I could buy a replacement for it. Totally wrong. Go with a company that is either willing to sell replacement parts or tell you where to buy them (They refused on both counts).

Tree was nice for two years. Third year, would not light. Called Balsam after changing fuses etc. They said I could go to Home Depot and buy new lights and restring the tree! So, I spent over $600 (bought for half price) on a tree I could only use for two years. I’ll go to Home Depot alright and buy a new tree! Save your money and your sanity. Don’t buy from Balsam Hill.

bought 3 trees in total over the past 2 years. 1 had to be replaced, they would not take back the old one so i am stuck with getting rid of that one. Then this year neither tree will light up. Have tried all the "videos and cheat sheets to troubleshoot." nothing will work including changing he fuses. Such a big waste of money for getting only one year on the tree. I can go out and buy a real one for a lot less than this has cost. Don't waste your money on the prelit trees maybe the other ones are better at least you will get more than a year of use from them.

This tree is so small. My last tree was from Hobby Lobby and it had lots more branches and was so much wider! Does not look like the picture at all. And it’s kinds loose where the poles connect and makes me nervous. Also should have more lights for the price!

I ordered a tree, Garland and a wreath that were ordered to match. Balsam Hill sent the wrong wreath. Instead of making it right, they wanted to charge me with another wreath and shipping. When I asked about a refund they send me the return labels and an email with the cost of returning...$25 a box. The absolute worst experience buying online I have ever had.

So disappointed. Do not waste your money on these trees. You can purchase a more realistic looking tree at your local Walmart store. I tried to find reviews of the Balsam Hill Christmas trees before buying one, but I could not find reviews except very positive ones on their website. I found this website after I received my $400 tree and assembled it. First of all, I don't believe these are LED light bulbs. They are exactly like the replacement bulbs sold at any store, cheap and made in China. The description says that the electric lines are inside the branches. No they are not. They just lay on top of and intertwine through the fake branches. Secondly, the branches are thick plastic. They don't look realistic at all even though I upgraded my tree and paid more for "realistic" branches. I have had an artificial tree for many years. I got suckered by an ad I saw on TV. Don't let their advertisements convince you to waste money on these cheap looking trees. Thirdly, no assembly instructions were included in the box. I know it is fairly intuitive to assemble, but really Balsam Hill, you are so cheap you won't even include assembly instructions? And finally, when I called to find out how I can return this tree, I see that it is now marked down by $100 less than what I paid for it less than a week ago. You should have done the honorable thing and given me the reduced price without me having to ask for it. As I said earlier, do not waste your money on this cheap looking artificial tree.

A new tree with faulty lights. Heavy and cumbersome. I will never order again. They do offer to send replacement “parts”. I chose to return the tree. Time, money and inconvenience as they are slow to refund. They are slow to credit too.

Bought 5 outdoor garland for Christmas deco they only lasted 2 season, we were preparing to put them up after thanksgiving well not one strand completely worked we spent hours changing fuse and lights and still thy don’t work 😫😫😫😬😬😬 we tried everything. BH trouble shooting unfortunately our warranty expired No Help we were told that basically that was the life span of the lights Really they are only up for 6 weeks out of the year !!! We box and take great pain to protect our garland at the end season we paid good money to buy a better quality that would last!!! I would never recommend Balsam Hill so now we’re putting up these garlands and going out to buy strands of lights to fill in the dead areas . Balsam Hill’s lighted garland Don’t buy them !! Really false advertising on TV they suck u into buying their inferior product!!

I bought a new tree and it looks good but the lights did not work at the very top and they said although it is still under warranty ( I just opened the box) , they have no replacements parts and there no other options and they might have a replacement part in 1 year. They are going to send me some light bulbs to put on the top of my $1300 dollar tree that I just bought. . They sold me a new tree and didn't really seem to care that it didn't work. Very bad service.

I wanted to order ribbon from Balsam Hill, and because I live in Hawaii, they charge a flat rate FOR ANY ITEM, AT ANY WEIGHT, of $179. So, why would anyone in their right mind pay $179 to ship $49 worth of ribbon?? Balsam Hill, in case you didn't know it, Hawaii is part of the United States and the shipping rates to Hawaii are the SAME. You can easily put the ribbon in a USPS priority box for $20 and ship to Hawaii. I have never seen such antiquated, out of touch with reality policies in my life. I will never buy from you again, and I am only too happy to tell the world of your ridiculous shipping policies. Customer service was no help ... they read a script that doesn't really offer a solutions ... useless.
