Purchased a new folding/flip Christmas Tree, in 2021 for $800 on sale. The tree branches are made so cheaply they were breaking off at the tip as i tried to hang ornaments. I've had $300 trees from Lowes that held up better. This tree had to come from china. The materials making up the tree are not as pictured, the tree has many less branches and less 'full' look to it. There are giant gap spaces in between the branches. Absoultely awful.

Worst Warranty Ever and customer service reps have their hands tied by company policy! My sister purchase the rolling 120 ornament storage solution for me in November as a Christmas gift. I didn’t open it until I was ready to assemble it and dismantle my tree in February. There was a manufacturing defect above one of the legs where a frame bar needed to be inserted all the way to a stop point at the bottom, in order for the bolts to be inserted through both the frame leg and frame bar to hold that side of the frame in place. The defect prevented proper insertion of the bar. Well, their warranty is 30 days and that’s that! They don’t care whether their products are defective or not! Fortunately my neighbor had the tools to file the metal and repair this expensive storage device. A word of warning, if you buy anything from them open it the minute it arrives and make sure it goes together and works properly, otherwise it’s on you, because they don’t care. 30 days and not a minute more!

Their product claims lead one to believe this tree is of the highest quality. Great tree actually. I do love the look, however the lights on the tree lasted two Christmas’. Two. That’s it. We have spoken to them several times. They will do absolutely nothing for you in this event. Stick with a NOT prelighted tree folks. Removing these lights and replacing them was NOT worth the cost of this extremely expensive tree. It was extremely labor intensive. I won’t purchase another Balsam Hill due to the lack of customer care they offer. Their “warranty” doesn’t mean what you might think that it does.

Bought a 10' tree supposed to be 52" wide at the base in January 2021. Paid for extended 6 year warranty. Told the rep I would not be putting the tree up as it is sooo heavy and large until Thanksgiving. Should something be wrong - lights, shape, color, etc will the warranty cover that - the rep said EVERYTHING is covered. We put the tree up at Thanksgiving. It is only 42" wide, not 52". I called up and the rep said I could exchange for a wider tree for an additional $600 because he assumed a replacement would be just as skinny but they were out of stock. He said they would be getting some in within a few days. I called back when I saw online that the wider tree was back in stock and I was willing to pay the $600 difference. This rep told me absolutely not; no exchange allowed. They claim I had to let them know within 30 days of purchase that there was a problem. I reminded them of my PHONE conversations with their two reps and what they said and that the tree I received was not as advertised. This rep told me a supervisor would be calling me back later the day that I called to see what could be done. Waited a month; he never did. I finally got someone to say I could exchange it for the exact same tree I had. Assuming the replacement tree will be just as skinny, I asked to exchange for a larger tree for the additional $600. No, they will not allow that. And no, no refunds. $1400 for a skinny, ugly tree. False advertising plus 3 employees basically lied to me. Terrible customer service. I probably could have bought a similar tree at Walmart for $600. What was I thinking?

So I was sold an item out of stock two weeks ago. They never told me and just kept my money. I had to contact them. Its been good and well brought to their attention that the item is out of stock but they REFUSE to take it down or list it as back order because their business model is tricking customers ….. I’ve since spoke to a minimum of THIRTEEN balsam hill representatives, all of whom admit the item is out of stock and they don’t know when it would ever be in stock again and EACH OF WHOM HAVE IGNORED my question “WHY IS IT STILL LISTED AS IN STOCK ON THE WEBSITE, where another customer can pay for it and fall in the same trap I did?” They keep just saying “sorry for the inconvenience.” YOU MEAN SORRY YOUR BUSINESS MODEL IS TO TRY TO GET PEOPLE TO BUY ITEMS YOU HAVE NO INTENTION OF SENDING?

The Balsam hill trees are beautiful when they work. When they don’t, you’re screwed because their costumer service will IGNORE you. We’re over a year into our disputing battle and nothing has been resolved. Super frustrating - would definitely NOT recommend purchasing a product from them.

Poor quality and customer service. The agents lie to you to stick you with a defective tree.

TRASH - GARBAGE - I just threw out my 3 year old Balsam Hill Christmas Tree. Customer Service terrible. Suggested we change every light bulb? Our tree was a few months out of warranty and they offered us NOTHING? Never Again

Changed my order for a larger tree. Paid $1816 for new tree, returned old tree to FedEx driver that dropped off the new tree using balsam hills prepaid shipping label. Lost by FedEx. No refund as “tree hasn’t arrived in our warehouse” since balsam hill is the shipper I cannot raise a fraud claim with FedEx and from my conversions with BH they are not. So I am out $1232…terrible to treat customers like that.

I am having the same issue of lights not working as many others. I purchased a pre-strung 9’ tree in 2015. Cost was approximately $1000. A couple of years ago multiple strands of lights stopped working. Balsam Hill sent me replacement lights. I re-strung the lights (a very tedious and time consuming job). Three more strands went out again (in 2021). By the looks of all of the bulbs on a strand, the wiring must be faulty and is shorting out. Very poor value for the price paid, very limited warranty period, and no customer service in the way of repairs. I would not recommend.

I wish I would have read these reviews before I spent my money on this expensive tree and kept my old Hobby Lobby tree. This tree smells like a musty old basement, right from the get go. Customer service is horrendous, they said no warranty, I had the tree a little over a month and this smell hasn't gone away. Also, agents obvously are not from the United States.

It would be a zero if I could. Terrible customer service. Warranty is a joke. Two trees in 3 years. Weeks ago reached 3 year on ORIGINAL purchase. One year old tree out in two sections. CAN ONLY OFFER $50 towards new purchase. Stay away!

I bought an artificial tree with fitted lights a year ago. Very happy with the tree until the lights failed after a year and balsam hill said it would take 9 months to receive a transformer that should resolve the issue! Very disappointed that I had to separate lights for this expensive item that didn’t last several weeks of being used AND the resolution will occur in 9 months time. Obviously a company that cares for profits and not customers

This is the most awful company I’ve ever dealt with! I ordered battery operated wreaths and garland… $1,200.00 worth. They sent me the plug in type. I called them numerous times regarding this matter and they weren’t willing to give any money back- not even a credit. They are DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!

We have 4 artificial Christmas trees and the Balsam Hill tree has not seen the outside of the box in 2 years. The three trees that we display are each >25 years old when we paid $25-$35 each for them in an after Christmas sale. They work fine. The Balsam Hill tree is junk. A source of frustration as lights don't work so I don't bother with it anymore.

Bought a number of garlands and wreaths and one $179 garland stopped working after less than 60 days. You refused to replace since it was 30 days past. I will never buy your products again. Buyer beware

After wrestling with real trees for many years I was seduced by the promotions to consider buying a Balsam Hills tree. Unusually for me I actually read many reviews. Thank you all for warning me against these products. I will keep using the real trees..
