“I’ve just reported them to watchdog, and suggest others do the same. Seems crazy they have been getting away with this? Also, for those of you that already have sent your handset to them and in dispute - persevere and you should get your full amount. Don’t cave in on their low offers.”

“I’m Yet another fool to send my phone to these scammers. Offered me £15 for a 128gb 6s in good condition. Their ‘engineer’ made up some nonsense about faults that did not exist. I ended up with £60 as it wasn’t worth the hassle to me getting back, etc. Do not use these liars. I hope whoever owns this con-merchant of a business reads these reviews and takes pity on themselves. Find a real way to make a living you fraudsters!”

“Sent in my iPhone 6s as was offered £99. Phone was in good condition, with a hairline crack in the corner of the screen and small chip on the phone housing. I got an email saying they would only offer me £30!!! I refused, then they increase it to £45, again I refused and then offered me £57! I said No and asked them to send it back, with the original box I sent it in! They replied as per T&C’s they don’t send the phone back with “accessories”!!! So basically they will keep my original box and use it when hey make a sale! DISGUSTING!!! Have always sold me phone in the past to envirofone and never had issues!!! Wouldn’t recommend Handtec!!! Go elsewhere!!! Still waiting in my phone to be returned to me, WITHOUT THE BOX!!!!”

“Same as the rest - quoted £100 for my iPhone 6s and offered £60 once they had it. Will try to then up their offer rather than returning, and still waiting for them to return my phone to me. What’s cheeky is they offer slightly above their competitors, and then don’t seem to Honor it. Avoid!”

“I was originally quoted £234 for my iPhone 8, upon sending it off and following their analysation, they revised their offer to a decreased amount of £150, I politely declined the offer and requested the phone back. The following day they offered £200, I accepted and received payment within less than 24 hours. Hopefully I won’t be their only good review in the near future.”

“Originally I was quoted £234 for my iPhone 8, upon sending the device and after their inspection, they retracted their first offer to £150. I requested they send the device back to me as I wasn’t satisfied with the revised price. They got back to me the following day offering an increased amount of £200, I accepted and received the payment within less than 24hrs. Relatively nice experience, here’s hoping I won’t be their only good review in the near future.”

“Pretty much the same as all the other reviews. They offered me £241 initially then tried to offer me £50 once they’d received my iPhone 7 Plus. Claimed there was all sorts wrong with it when I’d been using it fine beforehand with no issues whatsoever. I obviously declined the offer then they claimed they’d spoken to the supervisor and manager and tried to offer me two more stupid offers. I still declined as I can get more elsewhere. The company is a joke! Don’t waste your time sending to these fraudsters”

“Same as everyone else. Sent my phone in exemplary condition- no scratches at all as it had a case on it it’s entire life they tried to say it had- knocked me down from 240 to 180. Never again, a scam.”

“I sent 2 Samsung s8 devices off expecting 150 for each. They replied offering half of that. One was in pristine condition. I have emailed to complain and want my devices returning. Avoid the company and go elsewhere. They are definitely a con.”

“Dreadful, they are a con. I had a phone from day one in a cover with screen protector. they gave a price. When it was sent to them they replied saying scratched case and front. Luckily I took a video of the phone from all angles which clearly showed there wasn't even the tiniest mark”

“Just the usual con job. They said £150 for my galaxy s8. Emailed to say the battery was worn and could only offer me £60! Lol! A worn battery on a 2 year old phone? Of course it's worn, it's 2 years old! A complete rip off! Don't go near them!”

“Agreed a price for my phone online. Sent it off in original box. Was in great condition. Had always been in case and screen protected. They then said condition wasn't right and offered me around half. Reading reviews this seems to be their standard process. Avoid!”

“Avoid these lot! Sent my iPhone in to them. New screen and battery replaced by Apple, no faults. Quoted £99 I accept, send off my phone they e mail me and day the home button doesn’t work, the screen is scratched and camera is faulty, they said it’s worth £30!! I was offered £80 at CEX! Con merchants! AVOUD AVOID AVOID!!! Wish I’d read the reviews first! Disgusting way to do business!!”

“My phone in perfect condition. They quoted £155 on the website but after sending in the phone they only wanted to pay me £55. They made up all kinds of lies why they could not give me the quoted price. After lots of emails there last offer was £100 wich i refused and they have send me back my phone, but not the box and accessories. Avoid this company!!”

“Sent my phone in working condition. Screen replaced by apple the week before. Handtec emailed me to advise their offer was 100pound less due to screen scratches. Clearly a complete con. I said no so they upped the offer but blamed battery life. I still said no and asked for phone back. They've then returned my phone with a heavily scratched screen. Total cowboy con job. AVOID AT ALL COSTS”

“Familiar story they quote a price, half it when received as not in good condition, you agree lesser offer then they send you an email which states it was in Excellent condition. On selling side reviews are good and these are the reviews you see first.”
