ZERO stars! I agreed a price for an almost new iPhone X of 430. We agreed it was locked to EE and so I sent it off. I then had a response to say as the phone was less than 6 months old they cold not unlock it and so it was only worth 130. I proved it was more than 6 months old and I showed them proof of purchase. They ignored that email altogether. So, I asked for it to be sent back and they said it would cost me 30 to have it sent back as I had misrepresented. They suggested I get it unlocked. I explained that I agreed to sell them a locked phone and that is what they got. They have now stopped replying to my emails. They still have my phone and have not agreed to send it back or give me any money. So, surely that means they have stolen my phone? At the very least, it is held to ransom and I have no way of getting it back. They keep telling me to unlock the phone. They are selling the exact phone with an EE lock on the phone for over 600. Liars, cheats, scammers.... appalling. I have asked for the details of the person in authority to deal with complaints- NOTHING!

I sold my iphone 7 to Handtec after getting a quote for £176 from a comparison website for, based on the fact that my phone was working and unlocked which it was (it was also immaculate, not that this was asked about at the time). As I saw the trustpilot rating was 5 stars I sent my phone in, but after this I came across the ratings from people that had actually sold their phones to Handtec, rather than bought from them, which all the good reviews seem to be. Everyone else seems to have the same issue I had; Handtec rope you in with a good quote, then when they receive the phone invent imaginary faults with the phone and reduce their offer. They told me that my phone had scratches and chips (completely not true, my phone was always in a case and screen protector) and they could only offer £110. I disputed this and asked for my phone to be sent back, at which point (after two chaser emails over a few days following no response) they upped the offer to £140. I accepted this offer as I was not confident, based on other people's experiences, that I would get my phone back or any money at all from Handtec. Thankfully I did at least receive the £140 the day after the offer, but I would never use Handtec again and I would encourage anyone else to avoid them when selling your phone as you definitely will not get the amount of money they promise.

CON ARTISTS. Clearly states on their website payment in 24hours. Complete lie. Still waiting for an offer, which (judging from every other review) I expect to be lower than 'Guaranteed' price quoted. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Again, scamming bastards. Offered highest price online then invented faults and low-balled me to 50% of original offer. When I declined the revised offer and demanded that they return my phone, I received a second, slightly higher offer. Which I have declined and now no reply...

Offered £55 for phone and sent it to them. Handtec then changed my offer to £15. Asked for phone to be returned and it took several emails and 2 weeks to get it back. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. SCAMMERS!!!

Offered £130 for my Google pixel 2 however once I sent it, they offered me £40 claiming it had image burn and scratches when it was in perfect condition. I said no and they said their final offer was £50 as they'd have to replace parts to sell it. Absolute con artists and liars. Avoid at all costs.

Same problem hundreds of other people have had with this company. Offer £250 for an iPhone 7 Plus, always kept in a case, I had the screen replaced at an apple store the day before I sent it in, so the phone was basically brand new. They sent an offer of £150 saying the screen was worn and damaged and the back was scratched. Con artists towards every single one of their customers. Avoid like the plague.

This is a total rip off I sent them a working absolutely spotless unlocked iPhone 6s plus, in working order only just stopped using it didn't have a mark on it. I had to contact them a week after sending them the phone to ask where my money was after they initially quoting £131 came back and said they will give me £70 I have requested the return of my phone, lets hope I get it back in one piece in the same condition I sent it to them!!!

As with all the others here I’ve sent them my phone with an offer of 116. It’s in good condition, fully working as they requested. Now I’ve had a message offering me 50 because of a list of made up bull. I’ve told them to pay what they owe or send back. I’ve used loads of recycling device places and this is the first problem I’ve ever had. Yeah trustpilotvmust be paid reviews or someone working there with a lot of time on their hands.

iPad I had sold them was blacklisted according to handtec and they were going to hand it to the police, got in contact with the person I bought it from who had stopped paying the contract, so I stated to handtec it's fine for them to hand it to the police to which I got a reply stating they now cant hand it to the police, awful company to deal with, please check your items before sending to this company, my arguement is if its blacklisted send it back to me or give it to the police, handtec did neither which begs the question what happens to that ipad?

Lol....well Its not really a laughing matter but I’m just laughing at myself because this is my review in my whole life and I’m nearly 40 yrs old. Please avoid Handtec. Don’t ignore all the reviews on here.i wish I had read all these before choosing handtec.i simply went with the highest offer for my Hauwei P20 Pro only to be told that it had marks on the back and I was going to be offered £25 less than the original offer. This is a phone that has never seen the light of day without protective case and screen and only a few months old.I was also told I’ll receive payment by 5 pm yesterday and I’m still waiting. I’ve used mazuma, envirofone and several others over the years. Handtec has to be the most dishonest and fraudulent. Avoid the hassle and go with more reputable and proven companies.

Guaranteed me a decent offer as my phone met all the criteria they asked for on the website, then massively dropped the offer and gave me a list of reasons why, not listed on their website. Asked for them to return it. Also sent my item with the case for protection, and they never returned it. I would not recommend them at all.

SCAM and DISGRACEFUL company!!! How is there so many good reviews on trust pilot?! They have got to be fake testimonials!! They did the exact same thing to me. My Samsung S8+ was in perfect condition, I had a screen protector and leather wallet case (wraps the phone) whilst i had the phone, it was in perfect condition and EE (in store) offered me £130, and Handtec quoted £193.20 for the phone and after seeing the reviews on here, I was like result! Then i get an email quoting the following problems when they reviewed my phone: Engineer Report Notes: Other: cracked screen chips marks around the housing scratches on the back bleeding screen Glitching screen And they quoted me £25!!!! I was fuming and told them to send my phone back asap as I know what condition it was in when i sent it to them, then i get a reply, they now DOUBLED their offer to £50?!?! How the hell does that work that you double you offer within a few hours? so that set off another alarm bell and I demanded they return my phone. When i got it, it had everything they mentioned above, like it was deliberately done! I had sent it off via special delivery in the packaging provided by Handtec so no way it could have got damaged in the post. I went back online and saw on the other site people who have had the EXACT same problems and EXACT same error reports. DO NOT EVER use this company! You might get the odd few good reviews but to have this many is a joke and something fishy! If you don't believe me, look into Handtec and complaints and you will see how many other people have had the same issues. The most annoying thing is we can't do anything about it! How can you prove they didn't damage the phone?! Absolute DISGRACE of a company and for the sake of an extra £10-£30, just trade it in or sell it in store, at least that way you won't get conned. I got royally CONNED so I am hoping a few others read this and it saves you guys the headache and also money which is why we went with Handtec in the first place as they offered the most.
