Avoid buying from Smyths , I recommend purchasing from Amazon instead where you have a no questions asked return/ refund policy, I bought an arcade claw machine from Smyths in Portsmouth, played it with the grandkids on Xmas day worked for five minutes then stopped working and claw become jammed, it worked again then stopped , this was frustrating as the chain on the claw kept getting jammed and then I gave up, not fit for purpose , issue is intermittent but ruined the experience , unusable. I took it back to the shop and kindly requested a refund after waiting at the till for 15 mins as there was no other counter showing the customer service sign. The store manager then approached and told me to go and queue up at the click and collect counter Which was another queue which looked 15 minutes long. I told him the problem it didn’t work and was intermittent and the claw kept getting jammed, he made wait another 10 mins while he went to get batteries and tested it , In this case the customer isn’t right , I felt like he was mistrusting of my claim, He was completely reluctant to take my word for it. I asked him to keep testing it until he found the problem which he did , he then reluctantly gave in and gave me a refund. Terrible customer service and non-existent after service Don’t take the risk buying from smyths , I advise you to buy from Amazon where the refund policy is exceptional . High Street shop retailers wondering why they go bust and bankrupt when they treat customers like this, Argos is actual good but not smyths is very poor , I will always shop at Amazon where the after sales refund policy is exceptional. What would’ve happened if the problem was intermittent as I explained and it did work in the shop, Smiths would’ve Refused a refund. Never again, will I go near the shop. I spent another £200 at Christmas with them as well. They won’t be getting any more business from

An item ordered well before Xmas delivery cut off date was never delivered. They kept saying wait a few days for courier to clear backlog. This was a lie because same courier delivered later orders with no problems. Ended up with a disappointed daughter on Xmas day

IT IS HIGHLY RIDICULOUS POLICY AND ONE THAT I WILL BE TAKING TO SOCIAL MEDIA BECAUSE TO HAVE A POLICY WHICH STATES NO RETURN IF ITEM IS OPENED IS RIDICULOUS!!!!!! MY SON WANTS TO RETURN AN ITEM HE PURCHASED FOR £109.99 AND THAT HE BOUGHT LAST NIGHT!!! HOW WAS HE SUPPOSED TO CHECK IF THE ITEM WAS COMPATIBLE WITH HIS GAME CONSOLE IF HE DIDN’T OPEN AND TEST IT???????? AND THEN TOLD GO TRY SELL IT SOMEWHERE ELSE????? PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME????? This is taking ADVANTAGE OF CUSTOMER RIGHTS ABD THIS MEANS THAT SMYTHS TOYS IS ONLY CONCERNED WITH PROFITSSS AND NOT THE CUSTOMER!!! HE WANTS TO MAKE AN EXCHANGE AND PURCHASE THE ITEM WHICH IS MORE EXPENSIVE FOR HIS CONSOLE AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THAT A MANAGER WOULD MAKE THE EXECUTIVE DECISION FACILITATE THIS. AT STAPLES CORNER LOCATION. Because according to my consumer rights the item purchased had to be “Fit for purpose” that is- The goods you buy should be fit for purpose. Fit for purpose also means the item must be fit for the specific purpose you told the seller you needed it for. So, if you buy a printer and you made clear it needs to be compatible with your specific laptop, but you discover they are incompatible, the printer is not fit for purpose – even if that printer will work perfectly with other laptops In this case he bought a steering wheel which was not fit for purpose or the console he has and this is returning it to exchange for the one that is! Based on the lack of advice by the employee who sold him.

I've been a smyths customer for years, without any problems, however this week has been shocking. I'll never shop with them again, not only because of the product but inspire and customer service experience. 1. Order was left outside in the cold/damp in a cardboard box, i was in but it was delivered early, no knock but delivery company said I signed for it, anyone could of walked of with it. 2. An item sold by Livungston store, box was damaged, had been opened and itens out of bags, should never of been packed. 3. Customer Service didn't care, wanted me to keep it and give me a wee partial refund, I declined and she was going to try to do a store transfer as item not available for home delivery. 4 I panicked and paid for another one through click and collect, the person who collected this item from Clydebank store was given the wrong item. 5. Again customer service contacted and no urgency to help or confirm with store that they had the item I needed and it could be swapped. 6 item I purchased was more expensive than the item handed over by staff, they obviously didn't check item description, order number, code or price of product. 7. On writing this my problem still has not been resolved, how long does it take customer service to contact the store and get back to me? 8. Am I going to be disappointed and not get the product? 9. Will I be refunded for the damaged one or be left out of pocket? 10. Deliberately ordered before black Friday to ensure I got the items I needed.

Well, what can is say other than I'm very impressed with the order and above all the delivery,outstanding ordered on Friday night @8pm delivered Saturday morning @12pm now that's service with a huge smile from me, thank you very much 😊 sincerely yours Michael Tuohy 😀

Terrible customer journey and terrible customer service. Avoid click & collect service, impossible to contact if needing support. It's like they've purposely made it difficult for customers.

Terrible aftersales. Sold a faulty product, returned to store to be repaired, collected and still faulty. Sent numerous emails and still awaiting a response.

I had it this morning lol went to Smyth's picked up a chase Porsche and 2 Barbi kombis, whilst walking towards the till a member of staff tried to say they aren't allowed to be sold yet and started reeling off some bullsh*t about how they need to be put out by himself as he is the only staff that has knowledge on them. I laughed to the point of tears paid and put a polite complaint with the manager Scalpers really grind my gears lol more than anything else in the HW collecting hobby. And more so when the scalpers are staff members. An absolute disgrace.

Razer Kaira X Xbox Heard. Well what a pain the service was from Smyths. Required a new set of headphones for my sons pc, he liked the Razer Karia and seen these ones online at smyths. We went to smyths and asked the sales person to have a look at these headphones, even though it states for xbox it also stated on the box that they are compatible for pc aswel. The sales person confirmed this and advised "yes they will work on Pc". We got them home and my son could not wait to unbox them. Immediately my son said he had audio through them but his mic was not working, I thought this was a fault with the headphones. I returned back to Smyths and spoke with another sales person explaining the issues I was having. He tested them on his mobile phone (not PC) and low and behold he got the microphone to work on his phone. The sales person said as the headphones were worker on his phone he was unable to offer any further assistance and stated that this would have to be done through Razer. Two so-called sales assistants down and still neither of them new anything regarding the products they are selling. I took them home and done some further research myself. A look on Google and I found that these headphones require an xbox one stereo adapter to allow them to work on Pc, something that was never picked up or advised by Smyths sales personnel. Took them back to Smyths and explained that I was sold these headphones as being compatible with Pc but was never advised you needed adapter as the sales assistants I previously dealt with did not know this. Full refund was given the third time round as I provided the evidence. What a pain......

Wcześniej napisałam że paczka nie dotarła do adresata . Została złożona reklamacja i została pozytywnie rozpatrzona. Zamówienie zostało powtórnie dostarczone tym razem trafiła pod właściwy adres . Radość dziecka była ogromna 🥰 Zabawki dziecku bardzo się spodobały 👍. Warto było czekać Dziecko szczęśliwe. Dziękuję ☺️

Zamówienie (kilka zabawek)zrobione i zaplacone przez internet z PL i miało byc dostarczone na terenie UK .To miał być prezent urodzinowy dla wnuka ale towar nie został dostarczony (ponoć wina DPD) z jakiej przyczyny paczka zaginęła nie wiem.Ale to powinien być problem sklepu ,który wziął pieniądze i nie powinno wpływać na oczekiwanie powtórnego dostarczenia towaru lub zwrotu pieniędzy Reklamacja złożona ale problem nie rozwiązany .Minął tydzień od przewidzianej dostawy i nie ma towaru ani pieniędzy ani żadnej wiadomosci od obsługi klienta . Tylko wielkie rozczarowanie .Ta firma jest dziadowska i nie przejmują się klientem ,brak dobrej organizacji pracy, brak uczciwości i solidności ,brak profesjonalizmu. Nie panują nad prowadzeniem tak duzej firmy. Tam się liczą dla nich tylko pieniądze a klient to tylko maszynka do wyciągania pieniędzy Nikomu NIE POLECAM tego sklepu !!! Sklep który oferuje zabawki dla dzieci oszukuje przedewszystkim dzieci bo to one czekają na zamówione i opłacone zabawki MASAKRA 😡

Make sure that you are sure of what you are buying on click and collect if it is a nursery product at the Llandudno store. If you open the box and it is the wrong item they will not let you return it!

I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience at Smythis (Lakeside, Thurrock) that left me questioning their integrity and customer service. The store was advertising a seemingly attractive deal of "2 for 20" on Nintendo Switch games. Little did I know, this was just the beginning of a disastrous shopping encounter. Upon reaching the cashier, my excitement quickly turned to frustration when one of the games rang up as a whopping £35 instead of the advertised 2 for £20. I approached Mia, the store manager, to address the issue. To my disbelief, she was not only rude and patronizing but also insinuated that my party had placed the "2 for 20" tag on the £35 game ourselves. How insulting and deceptive! Whats even more shocking. Mia, in a move that reeks of unprofessionalism, surreptitiously removed the "2 for 20" label herself and attempted to act as if it had never been there. This blatant attempt to cover up their misleading pricing was nothing short of appalling. We were not looking for a handout or asking her to honor the deal; all we wanted was to be treated with respect. We had spent nearly £200 in that store, and Mia's treatment made us feel like criminals. It's disheartening to encounter a manager who not only lacks professionalism but also seems to have no regard for customer satisfaction. On a positive note, I must commend Laura, the cashier, who was a shining example of friendliness and helpfulness. In fact, I strongly believe that she would be a far more suitable candidate for the role of store manager, as opposed to Mia, who clearly lacks the necessary skills to handle customer interactions. In conclusion, my experience at Smythis (Lakeside, Thurrock) was marred by deceptive practices, disrespectful behavior from the manager, and an overall lack of professionalism. It's a shame that such a poorly managed establishment tarnishes the reputation of what could otherwise be a decent store. I would caution anyone considering a visit to this store to think twice before doing so.

Thank you to the staff for their friendly and helpful manner, service provided and most of all, their honesty and integrity after l lost my wallet in the Wolverhampton store, they found it and kept it in the office. This undoubtedly put my mind at ease, thinking l had lost it. Thanks to a honest group of staff members.

What a lovely store.....Smyths in Newport is such a pleasant store to shop. All the staff are so pleasant and very willing to help and advise.One staff member (Paul) was so helpful and pleasant something that other stores could follow. Thanks to all the staff at Smyths Newport......you're all doing a good job for your customers.

My low score is aimed at your online customer services! In September I applied for a toy catalogue in readiness for Christmas. It didn’t arrive despite applying several times thereafter. I emailed and explained I’m disabled and unable to get into a store. They ignored that point completely and issued their generic reply, it must have got lost and go into the store?? Did they even read my email? I have previously ordered from you online but given your reply to my concerns it’s obvious you do not appreciate your customers enough to bother doing my Christmas shopping with you. Disappointing!
