Always order from Take a lot, this time I was deeply disappointed in the Hair dye I bought. The colour didn't even work on my hair thou I did Al the pre preparations.....it was out the moment I rinsed it. Very dissatisfied

GONE DOWN!!!!As much as I used to love Takealot the frustration isn't worth it anymore...their customer service and QC is appalling. I received heavily mouldy toothbrushes twice (which I've had to fight to return and no apology), chipped sunglasses three times and they continuously deliver the wrong colours (they do have the correct ones in stock but then they put their prices up, forcing you to return, dishonest at my inconvenience). When they come to collect returns on a motorbike , the boxes can't fit into the tiny compartment so they take the marked goods out of the boxes and then don't accept the return because it's not packaged and then they won't refund it! What I've come to notice is that a big corp like Takealot doesn't need us (although I've spent tons of money in the decades I've been a customer). They just treat you with indifference. However, from all these negative reviews seems us small frys are adding up! You guys can learn a few things from the smaller businesses that value their customers. DONE!

Takealot send a completely wrong product, arranged pick up they collected and no refund has been made to me, tried contacting them, as per agent I the client needs to contact Payfast now which I did, Payfast emails is undeliverable. Takealot have never communicated that I have to follow up with their 3rd parties as to fight for my money back which is their job, their mistake, not mine....Takealot never followed up nothing just concluded it resolved!!! This is not right just taking the money with the product, with NO service whatsoever!!!!

MRRN-687MK-MND8 - RETURN DECLINED I've been shopping with Takealot for years and so has my family. But starting today I will go out of my way to never shop with Takealot ever again, you will not get a single penny out of me for the rest of my existence. I'll explain why, I know that when you "log a return" you won't be refunded unless you have the packaging, and in this particular case I explained on my return notes that I discarded the package as my intention was to keep the item but since I sold my tablet and couldn't use the item anymore I would have to return it, I SAID - please don't collect if you cannot REFUND me as I discarded the packaging. Yet, here we are with my lovely little return declined, so I contacted your useless call center and talked to one of your *********** agents just to inform him the decline reason would have been because I discarded the packaging, and he didn't know up from down. So, now I'm out of pocket because apparently, Takealot needs glasses when it comes to reading returns, and the reason returns are logged. So yes, I scheduled the return because I spoke to Mr. ***********, and trust me when I say this, I was willing to spend money in the future and provide your company with continuous support from my side. But I promise you I will head and warn anyone who wishes to join Takealot to NEVER purchase from you again. For all I care you could keep the product and I would dispute it with my bank. Please take care of yourself and hope you know you lost a lifetime customer over one item. I do not expect to hear back from your company, Regards

Return a product on the 7th of August, still no refund and no return of the product, communication has also come to an end... Like I said in my other review it's the same as being scammed... Unfortunately takealot was my "go to" but now I'm done.

We purchased a "robot" vacuum via Takealot in South Africa as a Christmas present in 2022 and within a few months a part broke. The response of Xioami is not what was expected - no spare parts and not willing to repair or replace. The vacuum was purchased to assist with housework since my mother is caring for my sister who has stage 4 (terminal) cancer. Cannot believe Xioami would sell something and not have spare parts available and clearly a warranty means nothing!!. Very disappointed and will ensure everyone knows to not purchase Xiaomi products. Warranties clearly mean nothing!

Takealot used to be my go-to online store but after this last experience while trying to refund a faulty product, I will be deleting the Takealot app. The customer service agents didn't take the time to read why I was returning the product so they said I couldn't return it because it was damaged. It was a faulty product. Of course it was open and damaged. That's why I returned it. After dealing with over 3 different consultants online (none of whom read my email and all sent back AI responses) I finally got hold of someone via phone who coukd try and help me. But when I ask for her to call back, I get more AI emails from other agents asking me to retell the situation again. One consultant called me back, we greeted each other and then the call "cut". Immediately afterwards I received an email saying she could not get hold of me. She did not try to call again. I was by my phone. It is such a pity because Takealot used to be so convenient.

They are always inflating there prices then saying sale on the product when the thing either costs the same or more,it's false advertising and unfortunately even though something costs more than you would purchase for it elsewhere people buy thinking they saving..they constantly reject your reviews if it's not to there liking but the only reason I review is coz I think I might actually win something but after 10 yrs I've still gotten nothing..takealot sucks but is convenient to buy from if you don't mind paying more to save time from going out

I have always great service from Take a lot and especially their drivers - Sibusiso Zwane has been delivering to me for some time, and is a fantastic gentleman who always accommodates me to where and when if possible. Take a lot has it all, quick and friendly with good prices.

I ordered on the 15th of March and I haven't received My order and the communication with the customer service is very bad,It was my very first time ordering and I'm really angry and disappointed because I needed the parcel for tomorrow so I won't be attending the event because they haven't delivered and they are not truthful.

Ongoing saga with Takealot ... This company has been content over the years to "take a lot" of our money. Personal items, gifts, business equipment and purchases on behalf of clients - we have found it a convenient platform for almost everything we need, with good prices and good service. But then something changed. Takealot became an open marketplace where anyone and their dog could open a drop-shipping tab and sell whatever they wanted. Prices became unpredictable, changing arbitrarily and often to ridiculous amounts. Delivery times became problematic, sometimes fluctuating wildly after an order was placed. And the quality of the products has noticeably declined, so that we often have to return items that are either of poor quality, do not match the description or are faulty. Now our account has been blocked (without giving any reason) and has not been reactivated even after several messages. Finally, we were told that the suspension was because of "too many returns". Well, yes! Supply cr@ppy products; get a lot of returns! Latest update - we received an email telling us that our last purchase (which we were charged for) was cancelled "at our request" - NOPE! We didn't ask to cancel the order, YOU did, Takealot! The email also said that a refund would be made to our account - which is still blocked and inaccessible at this point. You're joking, right? We're done playing this game. Once this issue is resolved, we'll take our business elsewhere. The balance between convenience and annoyance has shifted in the wrong direction.

I ordered 4 items but unbeknown to me, takealot tells me that I ordered twice the same 4 items and that these were delivered to me on the same day. This is utter rubbish as i only received the one delivery. I asked for a proof that the second delivery reached my flat and was signed for but they cannot supply this to me, pretending that the drivers dont remember. What a scandal that robbed me of R2000. Never never again dishonest Takealot

I had a great experience at Takealot Cape Town's new pickup premises in Richwood. What a pleasure. In and out under 5 minutes. The staff are friendly and helped me quickly with a smile. From the security person at entrance, to the quick meet and greet and then pick up area. New premises as good as the old just more spacious and open. Thank you will definitely come pick up my purchases in future again.

I had a truly terrible experience - I ordered 3 of the same books as gifts. I opened the package and initially only took out the top book (as all 3 books was exactly the same). A week later when I took out the last book from the box it was in a horrific condition. The hardcover edges were broken off and the spine was broken - how can I give this to someone as a gift? I came across this about ten days after I received the books. I contacted Takalot for a return. A courier came to collect the package. Later that same day they informed me via email that they will not replace the damaged item since it was already more than 7 days after the delivery. Two days later a courier came around and delivered the damaged book to me again. What I don't understand is how you deliberately package a broken item and "hide" it under other items so the client don't initially notice, then decline a replacement? This is extremely poor customer service and I think we should say something and speak out. I will not support Takalot again.

Please think twice about ordering gifts from Takealot who lived up to their name and took a lot from me!Takealot gives you the option to order and pay for an item to be delivered as a gift.I bought a gift for my daughter and when it arrived she opened it and used the product.When I visited her I discovered that the product I ordered and paid for was incorrect so I reported the matter to Takealot who confirmed that the incorrect item was dispatched at it was cheaper than the item I paid for.They insisted on me returning the incorrect item even though I told him it was partially used and the packaging was discarded.They said that in order to process the refund they need the incorrect item returned so I returned it only to see that the refund was discarded because the item was not in its original packaging and partially used.So Takealot took my money, sent me the wrong item, took the wrong item back and now I don't have my money or the product.Shocking pathetic service and absolutely thievery.

I have never had any problems with Takealot. When I place an order I am always at peace that I will receive the correct items in a reasonable time period. The staff are extremely competent, from the pick up point staff right through to management and customer service. I always find the best prices on Takealot and if I think something is too expensive I add the item on my wishlist and Takealot always sends me a notification when it's on special. I had 2 returns so far due to ordering incorrect sizes and Takealot happily refunded me and the items where returned. They gave me the option of either keeping the credit to use with my next order, or pay back into my account. I think this is the best company ever!!!
