“Yoga came up trumps for the most competitive quote but when I went to use the quote the price increased by £30! And I went into purchase about 5 mins after receipt of emsil!”
“I paid for my policy in full which started on the 3rd December. As Yoga doesn't seem to notify the Motor Insurance Database I keep being stopped by the police for no insurance which I can of course prove that I have. This is wasting everyone's time. It's now been almost a month and it's still not on Database. Unfortunately no real people are at Yoga to speak to, unacceptable.”
“Took out an insurance policy during the Christmas period so no staff available, which is understandable. The system is very "computer says no" and has no flexibility, so had to adjust the data entered to meet their "computer says yes" algorithms, however, there is no means of me contacting them to correct this information as the live chat isn't manned (understandable, its Christmas) and they have no email address or secure messaging centre in the logged in section, which is rather archaic. Makes me worried now that if i ever have a problem they'll be a nightmare to get in contact with and deal with. What business doesn't provide an email address?”
“I sorted my car insurance out on-line and although it was fairly straightforward I was a little bit disappointed. I like my documents sent to me on paper but somehow I missed setting that up. In addition, after I paid, I read through all the documentation sent to me via email to find there was a charge if I changed my mind during the 14 day cooling off period. I wasn’t very happy to discover this after I had agreed to the policy.”
“I went through the policy purchase process online, including payment, but then after that the website said "session expired" and I never got a confirmation email. They had taken my money by credit card but not set up the insurance policy. I went on the online chat and they responded quickly and were helpful, and said they would reverse my payment and I should apply again. The second application went through successfully and I received the documents. Still waiting for the refund of the first charge, though - they said this can take up to a week!
Summary: Online chat is responsive and helpful, but the website application process appears to be a bit flaky.”
“Bit fiddly after going through from Meerkats. Didn't pull all the details through correctly or save all the edits. When I then noticed minor detail reverted back from edit after I purchased, they wanted to charge £20 to amend. Also trying to upsell breakdown cover etc even after purchase having declined before purchasing.
Lets hope I never have to claim.”
“Two things annoyed me. Firstly, I mistakenly entered my No Claims history as 9 years. I tried to change to 15 years several times but this didn't seem to register. I eventually gave up and later discovered the reason was that 9 years was the maximum recognised. If only this had been explained earlier!
Secondly when I was asked for the payment date I was going to choose a date before the current date in December to ensure that the first payment would not be until January. The system then said that the first payment would not be until 22 January 2024 so I entered 22 as I was unable to enter no date at this stage. Lo and behold that having signed up I will apparently have to pay on 22 December. This will be in addition to the initial fee equivalent to approximately two months' payments. Very annoying.”
“Very good value for car insurance however the portal for obtaining quotes is very clunky and not very user friendly. Thought it was a bit off that when I was obtaining a quote for car insurance I was given a premium that was including courtesy car and breakdown cover but then these had to be added in as extras when finalising the quote although it was still relatively
Competitive”
“3* BECAUSE IT WAS CHEAP BUT 1* FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO REQUEST PAPERWORK IN THE POST.
HOW DO I GETBPAPERWORK WHEN I DO NOT HAVE A COMPUTER OR PRINTER????”
“It’s okay insuring with an online company but do think they should have a telephone contact number as the chatbot isn’t that friendly and answers nothing. I did manage to chat online with Courtney who helped me, so that bit works. Still think Yoga need a contact phone number though. I look forward to receiving my car insurance documents”
“Price was great. Not easy dealing with everything online. For example, just changing bank account details was a rigmarole, and before that trying to edit details in renewal quote constantly led to error messages until via online chat we were told to use a different browser, but even then we still had problems.”
“I entered all the relevant information about my car and myself via the U-switch website and after receiving a quote I entered the Yoga site. In the summary information there was a section for 'Endorsements' and under this there was a code followed by a sentence saying something along the lines of 'Young or Inexperienced Driver'. I looked for a way to change this since I passed my driving test in 1987 and I am neither young nor inexperienced as a driver (quite the reverse in fact). There was no way to amend this erroneous information and no explanation as to how Yoga came up with it in the first place. This really annoyed me.
Secondly, Yoga set your policy up for automatic renewal the following year and do not give you an option to change this before taking out insurance with them. I do NOT want an automatic renewal; we all know that insurance companies use this tactic to rip off customers i.e. by charging a higher price than they might otherwise pay. In spite of saying that customers can cancel the automatic renewal in the Yoga portal, I can't seem to find an area where you can do this. I will have to rely on webchat to see if I can make the change. Yoga obviously hope that at least some, and perhaps many, customers will either forget all about this, or find the task of how to cancel too troublesome. So, BE WARNED.
The Yoga car insurance policy I took out is very competitive but so was Saga's. Since insurance prices seem to change on a daily basis, you may find that Saga prices are actually cheaper than Yoga on any given day. I think I will try Saga next year instead of Yoga and see if they frustrate me less. I hope Yoga take note of the above issues and make the necessary changes.”
