I basically was penalized for cosigning my son's student loan and Barclay reduced my credit line over 90% without mail notification!! I was taken aback in a major way!! I've always paid on time and they were increasing my line every six month.I tried to redeem my reward points on three occasions and they never updated my address correctly. This is what happens when you sacrifice customer service and move the call centers overseas. Last week I gladly closed my account on my terms as it's the WORST card I've ever had!!

As a company we had charged a customer £2200 and the card declined the customer provided an AMEX went through no issues. The next day we had a call from the worse admin person ever, Lucy Cook to be precise, asking us why we tried to take the payment, explained it was declined and here is the proof, and sent her details, with no further communication a letter was supposedly sent to the company to say seize trading on machine, letter we not sent, anyhow unknowing we continued to use the service now have nearly 10K locked with them and they have just advised we cannot get paid for 180 days . just in case of chargebacks. DO NOT USE there merchant services absolutely shambolic I have complained to financial ombudsman hopefully they can help. Best bit - reason for closure - we do not own all the cars we advertise. well when you book an airline ticket with a travel agent they dont own planes.

Worst card ever and I have had many since I am almost 80. I would give them a minus 10 rating when it comes to customer service and backing up their customers. 3 months ago while traveling out of the country a fraudulent charge in excess of $700 was put on my card for a small purchase. I got no receipt since his credit card machine was not printing, but I got a hand written receipt showing the purchase. My signature was forged on the transaction, not even close to my own signature which Barclays had and could have compared. They refuse to remove the unauthorized charge saying they received verification from the merchant that I signed. I had two witnesses with me but they never bothered to speak to them even after they wrote Barclays letters saying I did not make this purchase. They really don't care about their customers and I advise anyone who has a Barclay card to g et rid of it as soon as possible.

Having a credit card and getting into diffufficulty. Barclaycard were very helpful and patient about my needs. They gave me so much support and they got me back On track. They were never patronising and showed so much empathy. I hope that I can continue with them and improve my credit score

Worst company ever. You have difficulty paying using the app. They actually reduced my limit from 1600£ to 260 due to a.late payment of 14£ which I had difficulty paying it. I had to cancel my Barclaycard as I had no choice. I will definitely not recomand them

3 calls to useless staff that barely speak English. Not well trained. Clueless. Still no access to my online account. Worst credit card to hold

Sign up easy enough, but until they verify income, the credit limit is ridiculously low. The marketing materials implied I’d be given a credit limit 17 times the actual amount. And income verification is appallingly difficult. Their Online system doesn’t work, and in branch only one person could do it, meaning waiting around. And that person could not verify income but will simply forward documents. Terrible systems making for a terrible customer experience. I truly regret taking a card with Barclays. Take your business elsewhere.

Not worthy of a star - statements provided via one of their own branches 2 months ago, fortnightly half hour phone calls for updates, still no resolution 'we can't tell you when our department can get to it' despite being escalated to a level 2 complaint. Their poor team having to apologise for their dire service over and over and over again. Will never, never deal with this bank again.

Useless company. My card was used without my permission and they didn’t even care. They found in favour of the company where the card was used, so I had to pay the debited transaction. I decided to close the account. Stay from this company, they will only bring you pain and suffering.

Barclaycard user for Over 40 year not used card for two years as seriously ill. now rare terminal cholangiocarcinoma. Barclaycard sent letter in June saying reduced credit from £4,400 to £250 and will be closing account soon . Rang explained needed account in case of emergencies my last months but didn't need that large amount( spoke with Mumbai call centre Nabil who passed me to Andrea Johnson who then took details including illnesss prognosis and asking if ok to put those details on my account.. Took time said had fixed it..account would not close and amount pin number which she did. Today acouple of weeks or so later received same letter saying they had investigated and my credit iis reduced to£250 and account will be closed on 30th September. Really distressing. Took a couple of hours to feel up to phoning cos I knew I would be upset. Got to Mumbai call centre had to go over it all again couldn't get a straight answer as to whether my previous call was recorded on account on computer..had the feeling it was from a couple of things she said..put me through to KarenSkelton in complaints. Initially very kind listened to the whole story through the tears.. I realised later again from something said that she had it all and she told me that I shouldn't have been told it was all sorted.apologised for that happening but that it would be investigated.. It had been investigated and my account was being closed as my credit score was so poor.. turns out this elderly woman who never gets in debt and avoids credit now is to be penalised for not borrowing money and paying Barclaycard for the privilege.. And now.should i wish to purchase eg a medical bed for my last months I will not get credit from anywhere as Barclaycard has caused my low credit history /score..can't be anyone else cos I dont do credit. There is also a matter of a new card sent eighteen months early which I never received.. Which it seems the cancelling of is of more concern than the way a terminally ill person is treated totally impersonally . but that's another matter . I asked to speak with someone else and was til there was no one else. When I said what if I want to complain I was told that she would escalate it t I would have to go over all this again. I replied that I could do that myself. Th e escalation was mentioned again another three times.but I shall investigate the use of th e Financial Ombudsman. ..my body is dying but my brain is still functioning pretty well. Guess there's always the usual avenue of the press. same same. Would send pin number. Which duly arrived. closing account. I phoned explained needed to keep account onpen

The most appalling service ever. I wouldn’t give them 1 star but I had to in order to write a review. I wanted to warn others of our experience which unfortunately is on going. Sept 2018 a letter advised probable fraudulent activity on card. We never used the card, we did a balance transfer and the card when it arrived went into our safe. The balance transfer was set up on direct debit and paid in full within the time limit. Then years later, we get the letter. We contacted Barclaycard very concerned. Answered all their questions. Cut a Long story short, many phone calls later, many with their fraud dept explaining same thing over and over again, that we know nothing about the spending. Each phone call handler told us we would have to wait for a certain number of working days and they would return the call. Nobody ever did, therefore we had to ring time after time, which it seems we are still doing and now it’s July 2019. Each call is over an hour. The problem is that Barclaycard have admitted verbally that they know the fraud is nothing to do with us. They put a bad credit rating on our credit history due to the fraud and it has not been removed. Promised a scheduled call back today from their complaints team, both of us left work early to take call. They didn’t bother ringing back again. This has impacted on our lives due to our credit rating, we had lined up a new mortgage and everything was in place and ready to go, until the Barclaycard credit rating showed up. We are now about to contact the Financial Ombudsman to resolve for us as Barclaycard are very good at apologising rather than acting. Our situation has no bearing on their company as it does on our personal lives so they are not interested in resolving. Shame on them, disgusting service and treatment

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, what can the matter be? I phone Domestic and General regarding booking an appointment for my washing machine and I receive a text confirmation from Barclays! And, my Barclaycard Account keeps coming up with bizarre, very bizarre messages. You've been had! 😋

You've been hacked. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Not so secure as you thought you were. How embarrassing. Either update your system or sack your IT staff. Definitely, call security. Maybe the serious fraud squad? Whose running the show? The Mafia?😎😘😎

Persistently sends unwanted letters and marketing rubbish which I’ve returned. Reported on several occasions for failing to take me off of the marketing database, despite repeated reassurances from staff they’ve done this it doesn’t seem to happen.
