I've been waiting since 14.10 for a patrol, I have rang 5 times, the duty manager refused to talk to me, that was a hour ago, still waiting, who do I contact, we can't email the directors office

An absolute disgrace. RAC left me stranded for 22 hours (that is right: 22!) at Bristol Aiport, until I was forced to call a local roadside-recovery company to have my car towed 15 miles away to the Mercedes dealership in Weston-Super-Mare. Customer support service is farcical. Patrol teams call you to say that they are coming, only to postpone hour after hour, because they have sudden "emergencies" to handle. Needless to say, the tracking web-site is also absolutely useless.

Absolutely Shocking service I reported a recovery for a flat tire at 7pm and got told they couldn’t come out until 00:53 so I cancelled it and walked him with my daughter in the snow went back to my car the next morning at 8 when I was suppose to be at work requested a recovery got a call straight away and got told it would be £160 I said no can you just take me to a tyre garage and they said yes that was 8am it’s now 16:10 and I’m still waiting with the time now saying 8:54

I had the worst experience in the UK. My vehicle broke down at 13:30, and the rescue service arrived the next day at 3 am. I ended up waiting on the motorway for almost 13 hours. It's unbelievable considering they are supposed to be one of the best companies in the UK.

I have completely lost my trust in the RAC. Reported a breakdown today at 12 noon - clearly they are not going to come today. This is after repeated assurances of 'arrival times' that come and go. I've rung them twice to be given false assurances (after being put on hold for interminable lengths of time of course). They used to be so reliable - sadly no more.

I placed a call for assistance via the RAC smartphone app on Friday 1st December 2023 at midday - approx. 1230. I received a text message at 12.55 giving a targeted arrival time of 17.55 - not great but as the car was outside my address I was prepared to wait. I received several further text messages during the afternoon all giving different eta's the last of which was 2130. Finally I had a phone call at 2230 asking if I was still with the car. I explained that the car was outside my home address. The agent then offered to carry the job over to the next day, which I accepted. The RAC van arrived at approx. 0900 on sat 2nd December. The engineer diagnosed a flat battery then tested the battery and charging system. The battery was testing as in marginal/poor condition so I agreed to have a new battery fitted. He then left to get a new battery and returned shortly after and fitted it. Every thing was then tested with the car starting ok. This was excellent service from the engineer on the Saturday. However I placed the call on the previous day at midday - Friday 1st December. This is clearly not acceptable. Thankfully I was at home and not stuck on a motorway somewhere in the freezing cold !! I complained to RAC and they offered a measly £25 compensation final offer and case closed ! They ignored my request to cancel my membership and refund my membership fee !!

Would give 0 starts if possible. Broke down, waited 4 hours for the person to arrive. Broke down again 6 miles later at 6:30pm and a revised arrival time slot was given between 11:30 and 1:30. Had to get a breakdown truck to take me and my car home. Car wasn't fixed, and no compensation. Its not worth the insurance. False sense of security.

Waited over a week for my car to be towed to a garage during opening hours. I got lied to on various occasions by the RAC team about the status of my tow. After chasing up the location or my car and the key, the car was dropped off to the wrong location after midnight. I was lied that the key was posted through the garage letterbox. My car was not only left unlocked in the wrong location for 3-4 days. The key was left on the passengers side wheel. I was lucky the garage was able to locate the car. The car found to be in an absolutely filthy state inside. I do not know yet if anything has been stolen from my car. My car is a Range Rover Sport and lucky it was not stolen. Absolutely shocking service from all departments of the RAC.

Absolutely disgraceful company. My employer got us the best possible opt for the road recovery. 6 hrs waiting and still no one came to see me. Called them and they told me that no one is even assigned to come to see me. The online tracking is useless, keep changing the slots. I will miss work now as I literally had no sleep. They offered to book me a taxi but I can't take the risk - I need my car. I will definitely change the breakdown cover.

Absolutely disgusted. My daughter is stranded on the M25 with two young autistic boys at 5:45 p.m. she called the RAC had a fill in a form online in the pouring of rain and had a message back to say they will be there after 11:00 p.m., horrendous standing out in the freezing cold pouring of rain for 5 hours with two young autistic boys. Absolutely unbelievable

Car broke down, 1830pm, gentleman arrived, couldn't fix car, took us to a pub as it was -3. Call arrived they would have to stagger journey home service station to service station with up to 3 hr wait in-between. Another call 2 hrs later, now can't collect us or car, have been told.to take a taxi 102 miles home. Now told leave key at pub, car will be collected tomorrow at 12pm. Home finally at 0100am. Its now 24 hrs later, no call back, no car and no one willing to tell us what's happening

We broke down today at 4pm. It is now 10.30pm and still no one has been. When we filled in the form they asked if anyone was disabled or elderly in the car. We said yes- 1 disabled and 1 elderly- as I am in my early 60s and my husband is 73. We also had our 19 year old son with us who is type 1 diabetic! Fortunately a kindly neighbour did an hour and 15 minutes round trip on icy roads to collect myself and my son and brought us home, but my elderly husband is still waiting in the car for the RAC to come. It is December. The temperature is at freezing point! Disgusting service! We are definitely leaving the RAC and going back to the AA. We never waited more than an hour for them to come out.

Junk ! 15 years plus with these robbing turds ..last 2 call outs over the past three years have been worse than pointless .. The second to last attempt to gain help I was left for 6 hours with no attempt ever made to collect me or my car I ended up having to find a recovery company. Do no use the RAC ... Pay the AA or anyone else for that matter ..

RAC promised to call me when they arrived. They did not. Instead, I got a message saying they tried to call me, which was untrue, because I had no missed calls during the time. I had my phone beside me at all times. I found the attitude of the call centre insulting and unacceptable.

Incredibly poor customer service, not only did they give me incorrect advice which cost me over £750, the lady in customer services was also incredibly rude. For this reason I will be cancelling my membership and wouldn't advise anyone else to sign up with them.

I phoned at 1500 because I'm car broke down whilst picking up my children from school. I phoned and was told as I have three very young children in the car I would be a priority. An hour waiting in minus 2 I managed to get a friend come and take the children home whilst I waited. Two hours later I was still waiting with no contact from RAC my friend came and picked me up so I could go and do dinner for children. I got home where I had internet and the online waiting time went up to 2200. This was a full 6 hrs after I rang. So how was this an emergency time from them. Lucky for my friend or I don't know what I would of done. It got to nine at night and still no contact, I got someone to tow it home with me sonat least it was at my house. Very dangerous with no engine but options were limited. We got it home and I phoned RAC again. They said it'll be tomorrow now, early morning. I'm sitting here now writing this with still no contact. It's been a full 22 hrs of waiting for them to help me. I would of died in the car if I was left waiting. STAY AWAY! I wil never use these again and will cancel my membership today. Pay ore and go AA.

I had to wait over 7 hours for someone to rescue me tonight. In the end it was a partner firm as apparently there were no RAC service vehicles available even though I was only 3 miles from home. What's more the partner firm arrived within 20 minutes and could easily have picked me up a couple of hours earlier at least. No accurate timings given and no follow up. I was also on the phone for over 2 hours in total because it takes half an hour to get through to anyone whenever you ring. The partner firm weren't asked to pick me up until after I had been waiting for 7 hours. It took a manager 2 hours to call me back at the very end of the long wait. He said he was the only manager on shift that evening! Interestingly an AA man stopped after I'd been waiting 2 hours to see if I was okay just out of the kindness of his heart. Had it not been for a friend who lived nearby who brought me food and tea on a very cold evening it would have been even more difficult. I'm lost for words really.
