“Where do I start?! Ordered 2 x name sets of their triple layer "luxury" business cards, everything about these cards is the complete opposite of luxury! Cards arrived 2 weeks ago, firstly they only printed and sent 1 name set but charged for 2. On to the quality, the design is very basic 2 colour with a solid black background, the black literally looks like mottled grey, the cards were also meant to be 85x55mm in size, they arrived 82x55mm which threw off the perfectly centred artwork completely. Very reluctantly I agreed to a re-print on the assurance from customer service that the cards would be personally checked by the quality control manager. Well, the re-printed cards arrived today, they managed to print both name sets this time but the quality has left me gobsmacked. The background looks even worse, cards are bending in several places and they literally look like they have been trimmed with a butter knife, I genuinely mean the edges of the cards are quite literally shredded! Not a single one of the now 150 cards is even close to passing as presentable, and this is apparently what their quality control is. I've been a long time customer of Solopress, but the last few orders with them the quality is completely non-existent, they've lost my business for good, i've spent over £400 with them this year and really regret it now, trust me go to a different company!”
“Solopress disappointed 74 kids staff and parents. The parents of a Scottish School placed and order for yearbooks for the class of 2020 and we had hopes for a good service as there website says they will check all items prior to be sent.
We expected 75 copies so that the school would have an extra copy. When they arrived, I won't lie at first look they looked good but once we looked inside the font colour in some pages where faded which mean we had to ask for a reprint.
Solopress refused to print another 75, so they said max would be 18. When those were due to arrive only 7 showed up! These where perfect but no where near what we needed.
Solopress said they will send again! Now when these arrived, all copies where back to awful quality.
Solopress said it was our issue and if we wanted it amended it, we should change the font in all pages which seems bazaar.
So we changed the font and guess what? Same problem some pages the font was all washes out
This is where we gave up. I would strongly suggest you don't place a printing order till they remove current staff and get once who are paying attention.”
“I had 100 brochures printed however when they arrived, there was a print sequence error. The customer service girl Laura Honey was excellent. She was prompt, polite, understanding, very easy to talk to and even upgraded my covers to 250 free of charge even after I'd offered to pay for the upgrade. Will definitely be using Solopress again.”
“As an artist, I work with printing companies all the time. I can confidently say that SoloPress is the worst company I have ever worked with (or tried to, in my case).
I wish I could take back all the hours I wasted speaking to their customer service, trying to reach them to get my order done. It's been a nightmare.
I placed a large order for brochures on the 28th of August (spent almost 2k). A week later they still hadn't sent me the digital proof for approval. I sent countless emails and messages asking for the proof, they replied telling me to resubmit the files because they were "damaged". I did so promptly, days went by, I sent more emails asking for the proof, they asked me to resubmit the files AGAIN. I did so again, and never heard back.
I have a feeling they use the excuse of "damaged files" to buy some time, as none of the other printers I worked with had problems with the **exact same files**.
I was never informed of the issues directly, they only mentioned them after I had already spent days trying to reach them.
After a week, and no proof in sight, I asked for the order to be cancelled. They promised to send me a digital proof that afternoon, and a free printed proof in the post - so I decided to give them a last chance.
I should not have been so gullible.
After another 3 days, and no proof, I asked once again for my order to be cancelled.
They outrightly LIED and said the digital proof was sent, that **I approved it** (I never received it, and I most definitely never approved it), and that they were preparing the printed version.
I was absolutely speachless. It's one thing to be incompetent, but to LIE on top of that was just plainly disgusting.
I eventually got my refund, and placed an order with Mixam instead, which fulfilled my order in 3 days with no issues.
Ultimately, my advice is to save yourself a migraine and order from a more professional company.
One note of merit goes to Hannah, from their webchat. She was the only person that behaved gracefully and kindly, and given SoloPress' way of working I can imagine that she has to deal with a lot of angry customers on a daily basis, and that can't be easy.”
“Wish I'd read these reviews before I ordered.
At least it'm only out of pocket to the tune of £30, but that's not the point, the item I ordered was time sensitive and they assured me it would be here on time.
Here I am, a week after the deadline has expired, and they still email me every day to say it's been delayed by yet another 24 hours.
At least they're consistent in their shambolic approach.”
“Shocking company
Shocking company
Awful customer service
Keep lying about samples being sent but surprise surprise no tracking sent
Was waiting a manger to call me back today but what a surprise no call back
Appalled by the company and customer service !”
“Poor quality printing, I have received numerous faulty print jobs in the past and although disappointing are usually fixed no fuss.
Ordered 2 lots of stapled brochures, 2 different designs and both were printed visibly wonky, they arrived a day late on the Friday for an event starting on the Monday and running all week. They could only offer a reprint or refund after they had received them back. I have had faulty jobs before and on ALL 8 other occasions, most of which were faulty brochures, had been offered an immediate reprint and been advised to dispose of the faulty ones, perfect. If they had issued the reprint on the Friday when I raised the fault my customer would have only had to make do with faulty products for 1 day. This time around received a completely different level of customer service, staff just spiel out the same responses over and over again, and no option to speak to a manager. I now find myself in a situation of having no reprint or refund and has left both myself and my client out of pocket and has done untold damage to my reputation. If you are a reseller do yourself a favour and don't bother with using Solopress.com.”
“Good in price but not so good in making sure the customers are satisfied. They dont even try to solve any issues raised... Not very good if you want to keep your customers... I used to be a good customer.. not anymore very dissponited the way they deal with customers help. If you want to get burnt dont order from them.”
“Ordered some wedding invitations of my own design, and despite spelling out letter by letter the requirements for the invites, they still got it wrong. Customer service was dismissive and unapologetic. They said they would re-print and send to me two days later. Yet when the time came, the invites didn't arrive and I had to chase them up. It turned out they hadn't even sent them.”
“Staff members are rude, a lady start to raise her voice absolutely disgusting and have no manners or people skills. Everyone tell you different information when I requested my parcel I asked them to deliver at right address by updating by someone asking me to provide new address details over the phone. I did not deliver my parcel on. Sort out your staff members as the have no manners”
“I requested 250 business cards one evening and after supplying the artwork, the team dealt with a problem I'd created very effectively and the cards were delivered 2 days after ordering. Great service and good product quality, especially for the price I paid. Thanks!”
“I don’t know what has happened to this once good company but recent experiences have been extremely disappointing. Tried to order some multi-name business cards online but the order went through without giving me the option of reviewing the proofs. I called and spoke to the sales team and they told me I could email through the files and they would compile the order as a multi name at the same price. I then received back an email saying that the electronic proofs would be £20 more!
As this was clearly preposterous I challenged the charge but was told the charge would stand if I wanted proofs. I therefore cancelled the order and placed it online as two separate orders that cost me £5 more but showed me the individual proofs before I committed.
Today I realised that I hadn’t seen the refund of the original order despite having an email confirming the cancellation of the job so phoned up today to find they had ‘forgotten’ to refund the money. When I complained about this I got the usual ‘sorry about that’. When I asked to speak to a manager to complain I was informed that I could only speak to a manager in writing.
Consider this my complaint to the manager.
Sad that I can no longer rely on this company to deliver the goods cost effectively and efficiently; and will now be in the market for a new printing company going forward ( just as we are about to rebrand and have to refresh all our materials with the new name and logo)”
“Awful products - you get what you pay for. I bought a variety of products from Solopress - including roller banners, 14 magazine brochures, and small fliers. Each of the products had their own problems.
Their only response to their faults is to reprint and re-send, and with the roller banners they sent two more - one of which was also broken and needed to be reprinted and sent.
The small fliers were awful quality but the worst problem was the a4 magazine fliers - the colours were CRAZY wrong. Even to an untrained eye there were clearly printed with weird colours (purple skies instead of blue - orange instead of yellows, skin tones were insanely wrong).
Despite following their specifications and upload instructions to the letter - they refused to acknowledge it was their problem. In the end I had to go through my credit card to get a refund of the £600+ spent on the large order.
They jumped through hoops to try to deny me my refund - and at one point was forced to try and find their office address to turn up in person to return the products to get a refund. This is because they would not arrange for courier collection, and refused to let me send via any other courier - SO HOW ON EARTH WAS I SUPPOSED TO RETURN THEM?!
Only after doing some investigation online and phoning them to tell them I would be arriving the in the morning at their Essex address and someone would need to sign for the return did they relent and refund. Incidentally leaving me with the cost of disposing of the useless products (4 banners, and 5000+ magazine fliers).
They may be cheap - but they'll cost you more in the long run in time returning your product or getting reprints - and the inevitable cost of going to a reputable printer to get your order done properly.”

“Disappointing and not professional at all.
Disappointing.
Been using this for a while... we had not many complains cause the mistakes they make weren't a big deal... (slightly differences in colour in between artwork and printed copies... sometimes the brochures came up a bit damaged, etc...) You pay cheap prices... so don't expect perfection.
Everything went really down the hill when a colleague used them for a big order of magazines. (I wasn't directly involved in this).
We still don't know how... but they managed to messed up with the fonts of the publication and the hundreds of copies came up with font errors. Now, I'm a Graphic Designer and I saw the original file and the way the designers sent it and also the proof they sent us and I still don't understand how this happened... The proof was completely fine... so what the hell?
They didn't assume any responsibility and didn't offered a refund...
Anyway, because I wasn't directly affected by this and wasn't involved in the whole process, I decided to give them another chance. Made two orders of x250 very simple A4 folded brochures. We received a box with x188 and another with x227, I COUNTED THEM! We had ordered this with plenty of time to make our deadline without problem. They DID offered a re-print to supply the brochures missing and the new delivery date was going to be a bit tight for our deadline, but still, they "HAD OFFERED US A SOLUTION"...
After this, they basically have missed the delivery twice... this resource was supposed to be delivered originally on the 4th of November. It got re-printed to be delivered on the 11th, then delayed for the 13th and delayed again for today, 14th of November.
I've been in touch through their chat, email and on the phone, asking for a PARTIAL refund cause we now can't use the resources that they were re-printing because they have missed the delivery date and we have missed the deadline, so we literally CAN'T use those resources anymore.
On their chat they tell me I need to speak to them through email or phone...
On the phone they tell me they can't give us a partial refund, that they can only offer us a 10% discount in our next order. Something that is NOT going to happen cause we can't risk having issues anymore.
And they simply DON'T answer my emails...
So yeah... Still haven't got the whole order of resources... or a solution...
It's up to you risking wasting time and money.”
“The booklets I ordered were far darker than they should have been and whilst Solo Press offered to re-print them, they couldn't do this in time for the event (even though this was still 2 days away), so were useless.”
“AWFUL COMPANY - NO CUSTOMER SERVICE
This is not the first time!
We ordered some banners and they were never delivered on the date required despite the fact we paid for a special delivery and we called the day before the due date and were reassured that everything had already been dispatched and ready (first lie)
Unfortunately nothing arrived and when phoned on the day (after 2pm) we got told that the banner were not going to be delivered due to a problem with the file (second lie). I begged the clerk to find a solution as we really needed those banners for our event but the clerk on the phone simple was not interested and kept saying we take no ownership on the delivery and it is stated in our T&cs. She just did not care. We asked to cancel the order and to process a full refund, solopress clerk confirmed that the order had been cancelled and that a full refund would have been processed in 3 to 5 working days (3rd lie).
2 Weeks later still no refund - I called to get told a completely different versions of the events. Apparently the previous person had lied and the banner had been sent via dpd to the wrong dispatching office. To aggravate it all, I was told that they would have needed the banner back in order to provide the refund. I explained that, unfortunately we had no access to the venue as it was a one off location and that we wouldn't be able to collect them if they had been delivered. The girl on the phone said that she would have spoken with the manager to see if an exception would have been possible based on the previous lies.
3 weeks later and I still have no news. When calling back I get told that the refund can only happen if we return the banners as per the T&Cs. I asked to be speak with a manager and told "managers don't talk to customers, you need to email them".
This company has zero respect for peoples time or deadlines, they take no ownership of what the say and promise to their clients. The worst of all is that in all this at no point an apology was offered.
To recap:
They make you pay for a special delivery fee > but if they don't deliver on time they won't care as it is written in their T&C's
They promise things > but they simply lie and use the T&Cs as a cover, as if their words were not somehow bounding.
Absolute sick joke of a "service"”

“delivery was not packaged correctly items arrived and all the edges were damaged, i asked for them to use bubble wrap but they don't have any !! they did reprint for free but i lost the job as the client wanted them that day”
“This is the first time I have used Solopress. Used as they were recommended to me as being much cheaper than the online service I have used for flyers previously. It took me a long time to place my order as the system for doing this was a little different to what I have experienced before with a competitor. Finally after an hour I was ready to pay online. Then their website froze me out. I left them a message on their ticket system. As this was on a Saturday morning I did not hear anything more until Monday. Then I was contacted and it was suggested that I email them my images for the flyers. I could not do this as I was away from home and did not have my laptop. However they insisted they could not process my order until this was done, despite the proofreading having been done and the order being clearly there on their website. It was Wednesday before I was able to access my laptop and send the images again. I heard nothing after I had sent the images and so had rang them early on Thursday morning. It transpired that the employee who had asked me to email him had gone off on his holidays but there was no out of office message in response to my email to warn me. So I had to resend again. This time it was all dealt with promptly and the order placed and paid for. I was given a slight reduction for the disruption, from £90 to £81. Today the flyers have arrived. Whilst the quality of the paper and print is fine I am not happy as the flyers have a white border around them. I did not want this. It makes the writing small so it is difficult to read the venue of the exhibition the flyers are advertising. This will have happened because there were two options when viewing the layout of the proof - one had some of the writing cut off, so I clicked the other one - 'fit to canvas'. I will be reverting to my usual company, who charge more, but having used them several times, I have never had issues like this!”
