“Original appointment was cancelled by the sales person the day before arriving. Re-arranged for a few days later. Agreed a 5pm consultation. They arrived at my property at 3pm (probably trying to finish the day earlier) which was picked up on my doorbell when I was away at work. Later in the day, 15mins before appointment, he said that we might have to reschedule. He assumed we had an appointment at 5:30pm. Said I couldn't do later in the week, so he came on agreed date. Sales person dismissed local companies, overinflated what Anglian could offer and said only they provide good quality composite doors. Did a brief design session. Got an overinflated price of £4.5K for one front door, which he got down to £2K. I think my facial expressions said it all. Pressure sales about being a good offer and would be hard to get down to this again. As a relatively younger person I would hate to think what vulnerable customers experience. Poor customer service and sales person on this experience, would not recommend.”
“Poor experience of Anglian Home Improvements. Two appointments were canceled. They agreed on a price for the project and a deposit was paid. A week later, after the surveyor's visit, I received an email from the National Administration centre asking for more money to do the work (breach of contact). Not worthy of reliance or trust and not true to duty or obligation. I do not recommend this company.”
“Absolutely rubbish! For 11 months we've been waiting for 2 new panels for our external doors. They are still under warranty and today is the 4th time Anglian have telephoned and said they wouldn't be coming. Their excuses are wrong size panels sent, panels damaged etc.
If we could give less than 1 star we would.”
“Rang to get a quote.got time and date.
Waited no show.rang customer services they told me there’s nothing on system.
Rearranged once again no show, once again
Rang customer service again nothing on system.this was at 10am told I’d get a call asap back regarding my complaint yes you’ve guessed it no call back.how can appointments go missing.
At this moment they seem to be totally unaware how bad they’ve got.no customer service whatsoever.”
“Avoid this company....Front door arrived without door Knob....
Got shed door installed today. I wasn't told verbally that I had to isolate the outdoor light wire by the surveyor. They still went ahead to install the shed door and cut the outdoor light wire which tripped the electrics...he managed to get our electricity working. After they had finished it was tripping lots of times leaving my fridge and downstairs sockets not working.
I also noticed where the wire had been cut it was exposed outside....Good job it was not raining today. Totally stressed Anglain manager did phone me back after complaining to customer services...It was my fault as I didn't read small print even though I should have been verbally told by the surveyor I needed to isolate wire.
Why did they go ahead and install the shed door in this case?? Not happy as now I'm having to pay for an electrician to sort their error....Totally stressful experience. Please I would not recommend them.”
“Our order with Everest transferred to Anglian when Everest went into administration, since May they have been 'looking into it', we are back to waiting for a surveyor, but it's not happening and with having already done the surveyor visit and prep for manufacture we have already paid in March 80% of the value of the order. No one cares, no one calls, and now we won't have the work done before winter. I deeply regret going to Everest and it was terrible luck Anglian picked up those orders. Anglian's behaviour is similarly evasive to Everest's which makes me think they have financial difficulties too.”
“AVOID this company at all costs. Very quick to get you to part with money. They failed to register us with FENSA and take no responsibility for this. We are now unable to move without the certificate and have to obtain one at our own expense by taking out "indemnity insurance". Frontline staff refuse to put you through to speak to anyone directly and all communication is via standard emails. Absolutely shocking customer care.”
“The salesman from Anglian Windows arrived and proceeded to measure the six windows in my property, tell me how good Anglian are and how quickly their "none contractor" fitting team could do the job. Then he dropped the £28000 cost of the job. I said that this price was way above what I expected for six windows and he then proceeded to say he could drop the price to £20000 to which I said I would need to think about. The following day the salesman rang several times and then finally sent me a text that they would be able to subsidise the job and could now fit the windows for £13000!!!!!
So, the initial £28000 job had been reduced by £15000 in the space of 24 hours. I personally think this is utterly disgraceful behaviour on the behalf of this company so I politely declined the offer.
Please, anyone who gets these thieves to quote for replacement windows, don't let them rob you because as other reviewers have stated, they will more than happily make you pay an extortionate amount if you let them.
Awful company.”
“Shame you cant give zero stars. The inital engineer and fitting was great, however all the trouble started when i realised he was fitting the wrong handles.
This was 4 months ago and deapite service visits being arranged they either bring the wrong part or don't even bother turning up at all.
The supposed local agents avoid all calls and don't reply either. Complete cowboy of a company who don't care about their customers at all.
I have now gone down the root of asking for my old doors to be put back on (i know they will disposed if them) and stopping my direct debit payments due to breech of contract.
Avpid at all coats.”
“I would give 0 if I could. They are quick to take your deposit and sing the contract but later its a lottery. They give you an installation dates and later don't turn up. Trying to raise complaint or get any help it's impossible. Stay away! Scam not a company!”
“We had a door fitted yesterday and after he finished we noticed the glass was cracked. No thunb turn lock as requested. Needs a touch up pen too. Today we cannot lock the door. No one to help”
“Representative was in my home over two hours trying to get me to sign that day. He kept lowering the price to try to get my signature and wouldn't leave when requested. Later he kept phoning up asking us to sign with them. There was massive difference between his original quote and the desperation figure he finally go down to, so if I'd accepted his original quote he would have been quite happy to take that amount from my KNOWING FULL WELL he could actually do the job a lot cheaper. This is plainly dishonest, my recommendation is to avoid this company at all costs.”
“Firstly waiting a longer time that we thought for 4 new windows. One we asked if they could fit a bigger window which meant dropping the brick work a couple of brick courses. They said yes and we went ahead and ordered but, we had gone through the Safestyle phone number that we had used last year for our doors. Before I got the date to do the job, I had told the surveyer I wasn’t asked type of window etc which he rectified. The date we got clashed with our bathroom being done so they said 2 weeks later which I wasn’t in agreement with workmen using my brand new bathroom, not on at all. I said cancel it as I didn’t really need it doing just didn’t like our windows. I was told I couldn’t as stuff had been ordered. Prior to this I had just lost my husband and really didn’t care if they are done or not. They decided to come Friday of the bank holiday and said it would take two days, which originally they said three? The front was done first day and the rest ti be done on the Monday including the bigger opening to be done. They were very curtious regarding my loss, Friday went well. Monday not as good, the smaller windows done no problem and then after the knocking out of bricks and the newer bigger window put in, I was shown the end result. I was shocked to say the least, I have been left with a building site as the window surround was not filled in ready to take tiles, nothing, just shoddy opening that looks like a bulldozer had done it. I had appointments the next day regarding my husbands funeral and the phone kept going off in the car, I just ignored it till I got home. I ask had they tried to contact me and a person with no manners just gruffly said yes fir payment! I did pay the bill and took a day to reflect on what to do? I wrote a review on trust pilot, didn’t know at first that they had taken over Safestyle. I ended it by saying customers need to know how their work is going to be finished? Ie now needing builders as I had asked when they contacted me for payment, why was I left with building work needing doing. They just said oh we don’t do that. I got a reply and a link to have my say, which I did and sent photos. I was apologised to and told they would get an engineer out within 2 weeks. I then got a message, addressed to my late husband, which proper upset me as I had dealt with everything. I wrote another review and said it wasn’t good enough. I then got another message back to say someone would come in 2 working days, that was up on the 5th June. To say I am devastated and angry at the same time is an understatement. How can they take monies from people after they have left them in such a state? I have now lost all faith and don’t know which way to turn. I cannot finish my kitchen unless I pay out for builders which I am now down to one pension. Please do not use this company. I would be the first to shout out at good work but, not what I have been left with. Shame on you Anglian shame on you, you should be shut down.”
“An appointment had been arranged specifically for an in-person free quote this evening at 7pm. No show.
Instead, received a text message 20 mins later, asking me to contact them. The guy I spoke to apparently had no information other than a request for a virtual appointment with me. When I explained what the quote was for & why an in-person appointment had been requested, there was no interest, concern or apology. Quite a non-chalant attitude.
Needless to say, we decided NOT to get a quote afterall, & after reading all of the reviews, seems like we've had a lucky escape.. We will not be approaching this company again. Neither will we be recommending them.”
“I would give this Company no stars if I could. How they have been in business for 55 years is beyond me. I ordered a door through Safestyle, who went into administration a week before my door was due to be fitted. Anglian Windows have taken over this company and I was told Safestyle customers would be dealt with in order. Firstly they told me they had tried to get in touch and had left me messages when I first complained. This was partly a lie, as they had rung me before on my number but then quoted a number that wasn’t mine! My order has been pending now for six months. I asked to speak to a manager and was told they would ring me within 48 hours……no surprise that they didn’t. I have therefore decided to bite the bullet, accept my loss of door survey fee and go somewhere else. When I rang they had the audacity to tell me I would probably incur cancellation fees!!! More chance of me eating my own head than paying anything or recommending them to anyone. Just do yourselves a favour and go ANYWHERE ELSE.”
“Absolutely appalling company! We went with them expecting a first class service and first class product as promised by the sales rep and reflected in the price. We got anything but! Every part of this company failed us; measurements were wrong, installations went wrong, products were faulty and customer service was appalling. After over a year, countless visits, many windows having to be re-fitted, we are left with windows and doors that the latest in a long line of installation managers judged as “I’ve seen better”, but apparently we are still expected to pay the first class price for third rate installation and product.”
“Very disappointed with anglian home improvements as they never turned up to give a quote! I rang on 08003893087 on Wednesday 22nd and the guy on the phone gave me an appointment for Saturday at 10, i waited but nobody turned up to my surprise! Not going to ring them ever again or recommend them to anyone as they would let them down as well. Sounds like a bad imaged company.”
