I ordered Hoka Bondi Coral size 7, after false advertisement that I’d get a 15% off discount, which I didn’t, only to find a pair of white biking shoes being delivered instead! Different kind of shoes different brand and different color! How can you mess this up?

Backcountry got my online order wrong THREE times. The first time, there was a rip in the jacket. The second time, they sent me the wrong jacket. The third time, they sent me back the jacket with the rip in it. They didn’t even want to work with me on the problem. I had to just send it back. Awful company. Do not order from them.

Been monitoring their "sale" items for a few months. Even their sale items are more expensive than anywhere else. do some research and go elsewhere.

My package was delivered to the wrong address. FedEx even posted a picture of the wrong place. I contacted back country immediately to inform them they told me to wait 48 hours so I did. Than they wanted to start the process over again. I disputed the charge and will stick with REI. THEY HAVE THE WORST SERVICE

They ship through fedex - hone delivery - which is notorious for delaying packages for days on end, and they don't take accountability for packages not received, even though they contracted out the logistics of fedex. Will not be purchasing through them again.

I sent a $1500 bike wheel back to Backcountry for return with their Fed Ex label on 3/13. It was received and signed for at their Utah warehouse on 3/18. As of 5/14/24, I have made 5 calls and multiple emails to get my money back. This is AWFUL customer service, I do NOT recommend at all. I have bought smaller items from them off and on over the years, but I think they've long since gone corporate and the accountability is zero!

If I could put MINUS 5 stars, I would. Very polite customer service, but I did 4 calls and sent 2 emails trying to get a correct shipping label with the correct items to return. 1st call, about 13 min, 2nd call -17 min, 3rd call-37 min. My emails got a response saying someone would respond. Backcountry never responded. On my last call, the very polite customer representative was still not able to figure out how to email the refund receipt with the items matching correctly the price I paid. She said she had to send the information thru her personal email because the email wasn’t sending. (?). The Customer Service is outside of the US. Almost every other sentences I would hear, “we want to give you good service, so sorry for the trouble”. However, the service is so bad, it’s to the point of wondering if it is on purpose to discourage customers from returning items. I don’t believe anyone can be so incompetent unless it is on purpose. I do not recommend this company.

They have the worst customer service. Not a legit company. I bought a Patagonia coat from them because it was less expensive than buying direct from Patagonia but it was a big mistake. Spend a few extra bucks and buy from reputable people!

Ordered item on sale, about a week later they called and canceled my order. They over sold the item. I asked for a discount on a comparable item. They would only come down to 20 more than competitors price. Lost my business.

What a bulshitt company!!! This company is the worst online company I have ever delt with. Shipping takes forever. Customer service lies consistently and says they have authorized refunds that never get refunded after multiple calls. They CAN NOT BE TRUSTED!”

Where to start. First, when you pay over X dollars to qualify for “free shipping,” they mean FedEx economy, not the Standard like they stated on their website. So that 3-5 day window is ACTUALLY a 14 business day window, which they choose to not disclose in their shipping policy (the word “fourteen” and “14” never appears in their policy, so they lie to you with the whole 3-5 days). Second, when you call and attempt to talk to a rep concerning your order and shipping, no one picks up. I spent at least 30 minutes with background music waiting for someone. Third, when you try explaining to them that that 3-5 day window has now been 7 days and there’s no FedEx tracking info available now, they’ll try to convince you to just keep waiting instead of shipping an overnight package like the other clerk you talked to said. Last, when you DO need your stuff, so you don’t have to cancel your trip, call the new order line and talk to someone who isn’t in the orders info office. That guy was actually able to put a stop on the shipment for “lost package” and get an overnight order to you ASAP, which is the REASONABLE THING TO DO when a customer is going to be waiting for 10 days to get his stuff! So no, don’t buy through these guys unless you can wait over a week and don’t mind the withholding of info on their ACTUAL shipping policy. Otherwise, just go to REI of Sherpers ;) 2 Stars because John Doe could actually do something about my lost order. I’ll buy you a coffee, John.

I just ordered a pair of shoes from backcountry.com. I had them on my feet for about 60 seconds before determining they were too large. I immediately boxed them and mailed in a return. Backcountry in turn gave me a store credit rather than refunding my original form of payment. When I called to ask why, I was told they were received back "dirty inside and out." I told them this was absolutely not true, to which they replied that the receiving department documented that they were. I asked for photos. They had none. I questions the honesty of their returns department. It is either their standard response in order to retain funds or they are employing dishonest persons on the receiving end of returns- can't help but wonder if those brand new shoes are now being worn by an employee who documented them as "used." For the record, item was shipped back within 24 hours of receipt. Again, No photographic proof from backcountry showing a used product. Customer service is outsourced and agent refusing to let me speak to a supervisor.

The customer service was great 👍 The problem is the order that I placed was totally different than what I ordered. It was corrected and I got a confirmation email and still the item never shipped after a week. Better off buying on Amazon if you can 👍

This company is fraudulent. Buyer beware! I ordered from Backcountry a few times in the past with no issues. Decent prices and fast enough shipping so I had saw no issue with using them again. I ordered a pair of $100 Prana pants and within a day or two they sent an email stating they were shipped. The package arrived at my house and there was nothing inside but shipping filler. The person packing my order had apparently forgot to actually pack my order. I inspected the package and found no sign of tampering. Contacting customer service was the most insulting experience I have ever had. They basically accused me of lying and said there was NOTHING they could do about this. Never once even considering that their employee could have made a shipping mistake. Just the blaming and washing their hands of any responsibility. This is by far the biggest shopping fraud I have ever experienced and WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever witnessed. I am filing a police report and have contacted my credit card for a charge back, and reporting to the better business bureau. All this over a $100 pair of pants! Ridiculous! I'm spreading the word so no one else gets ripped off! Buyer beware!!!

Do not order from Backcountry. I ordered four jackets to try on for the upcoming ski season. My package was never delivered and I've been disputing the $1,434 charge with Backcountry for 4 weeks now. I've spoken to 5 different representatives. They said it is above the threshold of paying me back, so now I'm in the middle of disputing it with my credit card. Backcountry is not worth the hassle, you are better off ordering from a different company. Their customer service is terrible.

Normally you will have an easy experience with this company. I've ordered several cycling items over a period of years. I travel a lot and ship to many different locations. This time, I had to use PO box if they ship usps, or street address if they ship ups or FedEx. This totally confused them. Over 4 years several vendors have been able to successfully ship using this method. Three phone calls and nine days after placing my order, they figure out they are out of stock of this item I had ordered and was supposedly sitting in the shipping department. On the 2nd call, young guy didn't really want to be bothered much with customer issues. Calls 1 and 3, they tried to help. I'll be ordering from other places from now on. They never notified me about their not being able to ship. Order just sat and every few days I'd call and explain again what to do. Ordered a different $200 shoe from Mike's Bikes instead.

After years of buying products here, they flubbed a return, kept my money, and did nothing to remedy the situation. The money or the product... they kept both. I've stopped buying from them after 8+ years as a customer.
