We are having a terrible experience with Bensons. We were supposed to receive our new bed on Monday and took a day off to take delivery. On the morning of delivery we received a phone call from the driver to say somebody in the warehouse hadn't loaded part of the bed onto the lorry and therefore we would have to call customer services for alternative delivery arrangements. CS couldn't tell us when we would receive it but we would hear within 24 hours. That was on Monday, it is now Thursday and have still not heard despite calling on numerous occasions. We were even told "they must have meant 24 working hours". Eventually, after an hour on hold we asked for a refund we were told we wouldn't be elidable because we purchased the product online. When we said that wasn't acceptable the customer service agent hung up the phone. I would never purchase anything from this company again

We ordered our ottoman bed in May for delivery early July. It was delayed until 3rd August. Now it’s been delayed until 2nd September! We’ve booked time off work to receive the delivery and assemble the bed and can’t take time off in September. Plus, we disposed of our old bed when we were expecting the original delivery so we’ve been sleeping on our old mattress on the floor for a month already. Called customer service to complain, they can’t arrange weekend deliveries or bring it forward but offered a £50 compensation payment. I so wish I’d listened to the reviews on other sites (bensons can choose to omit some of these poor ones on TP so I doubt my review will be live for long!). Other companies are offering similar beds online for next day delivery and cheaper but I wanted one I could go into a shop and see. I should have just taken the gamble. I might still do that if it gets delayed further.

Waited 8 weeks for delivery only to be cancelled on the day without warning and after waiting in all day. 57 minutes to get through to customer services who were no use. Promised new delivery date within 24 hours Still no new date. This company is a shambles

Had a mattress 6mths started to dip in the middle took 3 mths to resolve apparently not bad enough to replace or refund absolutely disgusting was supposed to be extra firm too photos for evidence were provided DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM

Impossible to obtain a response phone lines qs of up to 122 people waiting .Email states they hope to respond within 10 working days.31 days later still no reply ....no customer service at all .Terrible.

Poor service defective goods 1 year 4 beds and still not resolved stay well clear £2k bed and the customer service offer me £75 good will for my 4 days off work up to 90min a time on hold position 68 in a queue failed motors damaged fabric defective communication module is just some of the poor quality and service received

I ordered a bed frame and mattress. When it arrived it had a stain on the mattress. It then took me a week to be able to speak to someone who was rude an unhelpful. She wanted me to go and strip the whole bed and take another photo after already sending several. I explained I was unwell and couldn't do this. She was dismissive. You don't expect to pay £500 for a mattress and it turns up stained

Paid for an order for a TV Bed, Side Units, Double Bed and two mattresses on 1st May 2022, totalling £5,500 with two separate delivery dates. The TV bed, units and mattress was due on 20th June. They arrived and part delivered the order advising that the bed was not in stock and advised that we should have been given prior notification - we did not. Called Customer Services, 99th in the queue, finally got through to be told order was delayed due to distribution issues and delivery would now take place on 12th July. 12th July arrives, delivery team turn up and unload lorry, however they only had 5 out of 6 boxes, so they loaded the 5 boxes up again and took it away and told us we would have to speak to Customer Services again. After another 45 minute wait in queue, we we explained the issue and we were told that we would have to wait until 11th August for delivery - clearly we moved to the back of the queue for deliveries again. We explained that this was not acceptable, that they had confirmed that they had all the parts in stock, so we were not prepared to be pushed to the back of the line again after two failed deliveries. As per usual, the customer services team unhelpfully told us that the computer says no, and they were completely unwilling to find any form of compromise. We decided that after 2 failed deliveries and no faith or confidence that they would get it right on the third attempt, and as a result of their breach of the contract of sale we wanted to cancel the order. We then spent a full week in queues and on calls with customer services refusing to give us a refund. Firstly they told us we would have to do a 40 mile trip to the store we made the purchase at to get a refund on the undelivered bed and that customer services would refund us the money for the parts they did deliver. So we went to the store to be told, we can't give you a refund until everything is returned. We explained that was unacceptable, each item was purchased as a separate line item on the bill and they had not delivered the bed so we wanted the refund for the bed of £2069. They said no, not until everything had been returned. Asked to speak to a manager but noone on duty so had to wait for a call back the following day. The manager called and said that he won't refund the money as the tv that was delivered needed to be returned first and that the first delivery date to collect it would be the 1st August. Again we explained that this was not acceptable as they should not have delivered the tv unless the order was complete and that we were not prepared to wait until August for them to collect the goods. The manager, Richy was incredibly rude and told us "I'm telling you how it is", no refund until the goods are picked up by their delivery drivers which won't be until August. We have then spent every day since ringing customer services trying to find a solution to obtaining our refund with hours and hours spent in queues and really unhelpful customer service reps repeating that the computer says no. Finally we managed to speak to someone who said that if we returned the goods that had been delivered to the store, the store would then be able to process our refund and that this would be the quickest way of solving the issue. So off we went to deliver the side units and TV to the store. Once there they said that customer services hadn't updated the system correctly and so they were not able to process the refund. Some more hours in queues and speaking to customer services who then told us that the person should never had told us to deliver the goods back to the store as they have no proof of delivery, so still refuse to provide the refund. We asked for the matter to be escalated, she would not put us through to a manager, point blank refused and told us that the process was to raise an escalation ticket and that we have to wait for a call from the escalation team within 48 hours - another 48 HOURS, whilst they sit on all our money and refuse to refund it. So this is where we currently are in our long, drawn out, incredibly frustrating saga. No goods, complete failure throughout to deliver on the sales contract, hours and hours in queues and on calls, complete inconsistency on the advice given every day on how to solve the issue and now a refusal to speak to us as we have to wait 48 hours for someone to call us back, whilst they continue to sit on £2,628.98 of our money and continue to earn interest on money that legally belongs to us. MY ADVICE TO ANYONE CONSIDERING BUYING FROM BENSONS FOR BEDS IS TO PLEASE DON'T DO IT FOR YOUR OWN WELLBEING AND FOR YOUR OWN FINANCIAL SECURITY. STAY WELL CLEAR!!!!!!!!!!

Not worthy of any star. Ordered 2 mattresses for my daughters. Was scheduled a delivery on a Monday between 9.30am & 11.30am. Got a call to say delivery would be delayed to later that afternoon. 3pm came. Nothing. 5pm came. Nothing. Called the delivery company DX who chased up the driver who said we would be assured delivery by 6pm. 6pm came.. no delivery. Managed to contact DX again just before they all buggered off home for the day and assured us again that the mattresses would arrived before 8pm! Luckily we had the drivers number due to previous communication- I called around 6pm and he told me he would make his delivery at 6.30 as he was at the Bristol depot...bare in mind I live 100miles from bristol so i could only assume his delivery van was a magic carpet! 9pm comes and still no delivery and we could not contact the driver. All of a sudden I get an unprofessional text to say the delivery will be with us between 7 and 9am the next day. Our daughters had no beds for the night. Great. Next morning comes...no delivery again! Get through to DX who have no idea where these mattresses had gone. Bensons had no clue either?! Eventually after queuing and waiting to get through to DX and bensons, delivery was scheduled for the following Monday. Leaving my children without mattresses for a further week. Monday comes, surprisingly at the scheduled time slot,the mattresses were thrown through the door with no communication from the delivery men but were very swiftly thrown back at them when one of the mattresses had oil stains and the plastic wrapping was ripped. Seeing as we ordered 2 mattresses I wasn't accepting just one leaving one of my children yet again without a bed. Contact DX again as they seem to be on speed dial by this point who then told us to contact bensons. Position 74 in the que, eventually get through who tell us they need to reschedule delivery to the 18th of July! Because apparently mattresses are made to order...LOL. An absolute shambles seeing as the first order was placed in early May! Don't waste your money using Bensons, I think I've spent more on my phone bill that I did on the mattresses! As for DX I will make sure any company I order from do not use them. This review is being written before my next scheduled delivery- at this rate there is more chance of Jesus resurrecting again!

Worst company I have ever dealt with. To start with I was told 2 days before my order was due that it hadn’t left Malaysia and would be at least 8 weeks. I next got a notification weeks later they had cancelled my order. After months of terrible customer service and multiple apologies, it only got worse. Delivery arrived with a missing part (box A to E and somehow someone managed to mess this up after multiple problems prior). Missing part then was scheduled for delivery and they managed to get the address wrong. Eventually, the came with the missing part and expected an exchange and had to explain that there was no part to be returned. One of the mattress had a fault which Bensons tried their very best to take no accountability for. A independent surveyor had to come out and deemed it as a manufacturing fault. I was then offered less than 70% of the cost of the mattress as credit. After months (yes, MONTHS) of back and forth, the replacement mattress was sent out for delivery. 2 men rushed in, dented a wall and smashed a lamp. Now Bensons won’t even respond. Please, save yourself the stress and avoid these criminals

Do not order from this bunch of jokers unless you wanna wait ages for your stuff The people that work there are appalling. you’re probably wait about two or three hours on average to get through on the phone the numbers 100+ In front

What an absolutely disgraceful company . Ordered in May, one missed delivery in June, a second missed in July - i had to chase for an update both times. in June i spent 3 hours on hold, currently on min 45 of my July chase! wish me luck Im shocked at this business

Had issues for a year. Damaged goods. No respond to emails. Deliveries delayed again and again then faulty items and still waiting for new base. Had two technical faulty mattresses. Reduction in price for shocking service and faulty goods. Very rude delivery staff once Worse company I ever dealt with. Only positive is the staff I dealt with Very kind Roberto and Gabby and supportive in Bournemouth

I have a good mind to contact rip off Britain. Ordered a medium mattress and 6 weeks later they delivered a hard mattress. After hours getting through to their pathetic help line I managed to get a swop for a soft mattress. Had to pay 270 pounds. The delivery date was a month later. The day came and they phoned to say the mattress had not been loaded on the van and the only next delivery date was a month later which is today 12th July. Just had a phone call to say they had not loaded the mattress on the van. AGAIN??? Never again. I will not recommend this company to anyone. Disgusting service.

Appalling company, wish I had read the reviews beforehand, 4 delivery dates no mattress, BS excuses, didn’t get loaded on lorry, out of stock, damaged and damaged again, feel sorry for the sales staff, have now cancelled and in the process of getting a refund

I bought 5 wardrobes costing over 3.5k, initially the sales representative at the store got the wrong colour. I noticed and pointed out which delayed the delivery. Probuild there contractor for home delivery came, I was told can not build the wardrobes as the floor is not level. Probuild built one of the 5 wardrobes? If the floor is not level why build 1? I was told to build a 2" x 2" plinth, which I did costing me further £300. Today Probuild has come and built the wardrobes and did not finish of the side and top frame of the wardrobe because the plinth is to big. I told them that I was advised by a member of the team to build a 2 x 2 plinth. Very rude guy. Spoke to customer service team was told can't do any thing. Came in store un Huddersfield and was told not our problem very rude and unhelpful staff. Never buy anything from them. Happy to take your money but customer service is zero. Untrained and unprofessional staff Avoid at all cost.

AVOID!!!!! Ordered the Cameo sofa bed at the start of April, 3 failed delivery slots over nearly 3 months - all notified by email on the day, no phone call - and texts were sent previously to say item would be delivered. If you ring customer services it takes forever to get through and they are rude and unhelpful. Probably hiding the fact they have no idea what’s going on or when you will get your furniture. I’ve been hung up on, refused information despite sending email in to say all the correspondence to go through me, as it was when they’ve emailed me, text me and rung me for payment. It should not be that hard to order a sofa bed. Apparently it’s on a container that hasn’t come in yet. From where, who knows! Really really bad customer service and a waste of our time and energy chasing it up. Do yourself a favour before ordering and read the reviews. I wish I had. When they cancel your delivery short notice, which they will… it says they will be in touch within 24hours. That’s a lie too. I shall never set foot in a Bensons for beds store ever again, and shall advise anyone not to put themselves through the agro and go elsewhere. Wouldn’t be surprised if administration is on the cards the way they’re treating customers. Would be a minus star review if I could!

If I could give this a minus figure I would! Placed an order during a promotion at the end of April 2022 - it was supposed to be delivered 1st June 2022 but there was “a flood at the warehouse” and it was damaged. I was initially understanding as these things happen, but the story kept changing. I was initially offered an alternative date for part but not all of the order, but I couldn’t be in that day due to work commitments (NHS) so it was rearranged for early July. Also, I wanted the whole order at the same time not to be sleeping on a mattress for the rest to be delivered later! Yet again the order was cancelled at short notice via email. This time the story was that a different part of the order had been damaged by the flood (the part of the order they had originally tried to deliver in June - so the story didn’t add up). It was very difficult to speak to customer services - very long queue of people and I was hung up on twice (which would be justified if I had been rude as that’s unacceptable regardless) but I wasn’t rude. There was also the option of a “call back service” - I’m still waiting for that! I then eventually had an email saying “as per my request” there was yet another new date for delivery for almost a month later. That was not what I had asked at all - I had asked for the item to be delivered while I was off work the following week. I have seen multiple poor reviews of Bensons and on their advice I asked for a full refund which I am currently awaiting. I have used Bensons for Beds in the past and back then the service was good. But I don’t believe I would ever have received the bed as ordered, there would have just been excuse after excuse. From what I hear those who do receive their goods do not rate their quality. Avoid!!!! I would not be surprised to hear they go bankrupt and while I would feel sorry for the staff who are genuinely trying to do their best I would have little sympathy with the people further up the food chain who are acting like con men. Sold me faulty bed and mattress. Denial denial denial. They did not honour their guarantee. The inspector said that sagging is normal. If I wanted to sleep in a hammock I would have bought one. Threw the mattress away on municipal dump and screwed plywood sheeting to base which was made from corrugated cardboard. Worst £1000 wasted.
