Subject: Urgent Warning: Unethical and Misleading Practices of Big Motoring World I am writing to you with a sense of urgency to share my recent experience with Big Motoring World, as I feel it is my responsibility to warn others about their unethical and misleading practices. On Sunday, October 29th, my partner and I purchased a car from Big Motoring World, trusting the salesperson's assurance that the vehicle was in perfect condition and adhered to BMW standards. However, within a day of driving the car, warning lights started appearing and parts from the undercarriage started falling off while we were on the motorway. In our moment of distress, we immediately contacted the Big Assist helpline, only to be cut off repeatedly. After making numerous calls, we finally received a call back, but were told that they were unable to assist us. Stranded nearly an hour away from home, we had to temporarily fix the undercarriage ourselves using tape and drove the car to the nearest BMW dealership. To our dismay, we discovered that the car's warranty was invalid due to unauthorized modifications, which had not been disclosed to us by the salesperson. Moreover, these modifications also rendered our insurance coverage inadequate. This is a clear case of fraud, as we relied on the salesperson's assurance that the car had not been modified. Further investigation at a reputable garage confirmed our suspicions. The car had indeed been modified with non-BMW standard parts, and it exhibited damage to the front bumper, which had been poorly repaired with filler. In our pursuit of a resolution, we sent multiple emails with supporting reports and photos to Big Assist. However, their response was disheartening - they outright refused to refund our money. According to the Consumer Rights Act 2015, we have the right to a full refund in such circumstances, as the car is not fit for purpose and we have been misled. Nevertheless, Big Assist has reiterated their refusal to provide a refund in their most recent email to us today. This ordeal has left us deeply disappointed and frustrated with the company's lack of empathy and responsibility towards its customers. I implore you, to not consider utilizing the services of Big Motoring World. Their unethical practices, misleading claims, and lack of accountability make them an unreliable and untrustworthy company. I sincerely hope that by sharing my experience, I can save others from the distress and financial burden we have endured.

I was miss sold the paint protection product as a respray and told that it would be dealership quality. Having a car that's turquoise and having bought a product that's for touch ups only will have many dark green spots all over the vehicle and will stand out more, I would prefer knowing all this beforehand then up selling and causing issues later. No documentation for the product was given at the time and we just took it as face value, now I wonder about the other issues that may arise on the other products we purchased along side this, now I have to chase up all parties involved to try to resolve this when I should be enjoying what I have purchased, great customer service.

I purchased my vehicle at big motoring world and the staff at Wimbledon couldn’t be more helpful. However 4 weeks later after receiving my car that I purchase for 18k, a management engine light come on which was red, failure to the engine, it completely lost all power. I was on the 30th day and no one at big motoring world after sales team told me to bring the car back for them to assist me further, I needed to go to my warranty company. It’s been nearly 4 weeks without my vehicle and they are expecting me to pay out for some of the work. So it’s all lovely to start with but when something goes wrong they don’t want to help.

Car broke down within 24h, no support, potential fraud (Wimbledon) They misrepresented the purchase costs on the invoice. At purchase we agreed to pay £100 for their GardX water protection product, when viewing the invoice the full amount payable (car + warranty _ GardX) was the same, but they actually listed GardX as over £600. This will make it exceedingly difficult for us to get their useless warranty (see below) refunded in full (original quote was £1500, on invoice shows as 900). Avoid at all costs. Purchased a used car with their extended warranty for 3 years, during test drive tire pressure was low, asked them to fix this before getting the keys. They claimed it was fixed, less than 24h from purchase car tire pressure was low again, in addition the car would not start anymore due to battery issues. Car was jump/started the day after, only for it not to work again within another 24h. I found it absolutely impossible to speak with their after sales team: - The phone number disconnects as soon as I select to speak about a vehicle you purchased with aftersales - Their Live chat agents ask to call the number above and proceed to abruptly shut down the chat shortly thereafter - Their assist email has not replied in over 3 days, our car is unusable from less than 24h after purchase - The sales line agents, which connect almost immediately, are not able or willing to transfer to after sales care - We had to stay on hold over 20 mins to speak with a representative of their Extended Warranty, something they also expect the garage to do in order to approve any repair. They will not cancel the warranty on this phone line even though we are in the 14 day cool off period, asking us to contact Bigmotoringworld (which we cannot get through to). They will also not allow us to go to our car manufacturer garage as it’s “too expensive” Even before the purchase was complete, multiple members of staff pressured us to leave 5* reviews for them. Desperate to use the vehicle, we are now out of pocked to repair our 3 day old car an expect a lengthy battle to see any of our money (warranty, repair costs) back.

We purchased our 3rd car with BMW a Mercedes C220, we took their 3 year Big Assist warranty, which is in fact Warranty 2000, (one of the worst warranty companies on the market) it was sold as trouble free motoring, no unexpected high bills, only genuine parts used etc. this is a lie. after 4000 miles I had a fault with a Nox censor, Big Assist/Warranty 2000 would only cover an aftermarket part that they costed at £130 & half hour labour, (the Mercedes part is over £500) they didn’t cover the cost for the diagnostic to identify the issu or the programming of the censor, that is required. my total bill was over £700 were Big Assist/W 2000 paid £177. I contacted Big Assist/Warranty 2000, who blamed BMW, for wrongly informing me that only genuine parts will be used etc. I contacted BMW who responded with "due to yourself purchasing the vehicle on 18/09/2022 we are unable to assist further with replacement because of the time period since purchase. We don't assist further concerns outside of the first 6 months since purchase, so I apologise for this. The warranty company have based their authorisation on replacement based on an aftermarket or used component. The total authorisation they had given was £177. If you have further questions regarding this matter, I would advise contacting the warranty company directly due to themselves giving the authorisation". BMW sold me a 3-year warranty but after 6 months they take no responsibility, despite being sold as Big Assist Warranty!!!!

I was pleasantly surprised when I visited Big Motoring World. I didn’t expect to purchase a car on the day, but Ali G who assisted us with the purchase was so helpful and knowledgeable.

Worst experience ever. They sold a faulty car with several warning lights. Their after sales service is a joke. No on bothers to answer the call. I will exercise my legal right to reject and seek the refund. They knew about the defects ans still sold the car. I am feeling so helpless

If I could currently give 0 stars I would. I earlier left a review about the sales team and gave them 5 stars. That still stands and they were lovely. HOWEVER, avoid this company like the plague. Within 2 weeks my car needs £1000 worth of fixes. The battery is failing and working at 28%, the car is not running correctly. All brake pads and discs are worn down the manufacture minimum standards. This car would currently fail its MOT. This goes against the Consumer Rights Act 2005, as the car is not satisfactory, or sold is described with their “200 point check”. All of these issues should have meant it didn’t pass. They have either lied, or are incompetent. Currently no one will get back to me about whether they will fund these necessary repairs and it looks like I will end up having to pay them myself. With what, I don’t know. It’s an absolute disgrace. It also appears like I am not the only one when you look through their Twitter/Facebook replies and comments. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID.

Warranty warning!!! Warranty warning!!!! When is a warranty not a warranty? When you shop at Big Motoring World that’s when!! Be warned of disingenuous sales practices here. Be prepared to add at least another 1-2k on the price of a car if you want a functioning warranty. The one they offer as standard isn’t a warranty at all, it’s basically a £400 voucher which is utterly useless and they know it. I don’t know how they can legally call that a warranty! Clearly the intention is to upsell and make more money. Never have I come across this tactic before. Wasted a whole day travelling and test driving a car only to find this out at the very end of the day when the deal was being done. Then was told it was basically my fault for not reading the terms and conditions properly!! Unbelievable. Also tried to sell me other rip off services and extras. So p&ssed off. Be warned.

So far a terrible experience. Bought the car and within 30 minutes of ownership found issues that I hadn’t spotted during the test drive. Brakes squeak at low speed independent garage has diagnosed poor fitted pads. Front camera doesn’t work probably linked to the point 4. The car is haemorrhaging washer fluid from the near side front bumper again this will probably be linked to point 4. Whilst waiting for the after sales team to respond I’ve had the vehicle inspected by an independent garage who have confirmed the above faults and also found that the car has been involved in an unrecorded collision to the near side front area and have identified a very poor repair job. Not what you would expect when spending almost £30k on a car that apparently has been through a thorough inspection prior to sale. Still waiting for a response from the after sales team. How bad can a company be if the complaints team are to busy to respond. ***Update July 2023 following this review the car has been returned to Big Motoring World twice to have the relatively minor issues rectified. Now the car has developed a major fault. Ad blue device has malfunctioned and the car is on a countdown to when it will refuse to start. No response to my latest email to the support email. Have tried using the warranty and they want me to use garages that can’t fit the car in for nearly two weeks by which time the countdown will have expired and the vehicle will not be able to drive to the garage. This has been the worst buying experience and is looking like the most costly mistake I have ever made. ***Further Update it took 12 days for Big Motoring World to respond to the latest query and the best solution they have offered is to book the vehicle into their workshop on 3rd August for diagnostics (a wait of 1 month after reporting the issue) whilst waiting for this appointment at my own expense I have had the vehicle inspected by both Jaguar Landrover and an independent garage. Both garages have diagnosed the same 2 faults and parts required to fix the faults. The cost to repair will be over £1600. In an attempt to rectify this swiftly I have provided these reports to Big Motoring World so that they can order the parts and complete the repairs on the booking date. The response from Big Motoring World is that they dispute the diagnosis from both garages claiming that these garages are trying to upsell their services. They have refused to order any parts stating that after my appointment on 3rd August I will have to wait for another available appointment to have the repairs completed. This will most likely mean a wait of another 3 to 4 weeks. The car is currently on a countdown with less than 400 miles left before it will fail to start. This means I will have no vehicle until repairs are completed. I have had the car now for only 8 weeks and only one of those weeks has been without any faults on the car yet Big Motoring World refuses to accept the car back as a return. Please avoid this cowboy outfit at all costs.

Avoid these cowboys they advertise the cars falsely, they expect you to be an expert and a mechanic the sales rep know absolutely nothing. Waited 5 hours just to take the car to realise its nothing it said in the description. Horrific company

PLEASE AVOID. DO NOT BUY ANY EXTRAS I bought a car last year and bought smart protect with it. Now, I need to arrange a repair for my car. The contact details they have provided is a joke. I have tried to call multiple times, at different times of the day and on different days. The line is just not connecting and as soon I choose the after care option, the line just drops. I sent them an email regarding this issue and they got back to me and they have given me a different number. I tried that many times but I experienced the same thing. I have also tried to contact presale department and spoken with Jamie and two other staff members and they have advised me to keep trying the number, there is nothing they can do to help. I have requested to pass the message and arrange a call back at least. Jamie said that he will contact them but not sure when they will get back to me.
