About Carphone Warehouse:

The Carphone Warehouse was founded in 1989 to bring mobile services to consumers. The market has always been complex and our aim from the very beginning has been to offer our customers simple, impartial advice while also offering outstanding value. As a result we have grown from a handful of stores operating exclusively in the UK selling mobile handsets and contracts, to a European-wide platform of over 1,500 stores in 10 countries, providing a wide range of mobile and residential telecoms services.

Wayne at Chaplefield, Norwich store, exceeded expectations, had chosen my phone before I went in, he succeeded in finding the tarrif which suited my needs, traded in my current phone and managed to reduce my early upgrade fee. I went in 2 days later as couldn't get on App Store which he fixed in seconds, he re-arranged my icons to make life easier for me and answered a few questions very quickly and no jargon which I wouldn't have understood. Huge thanks, Customer Service still exists, thank you.

Long winded and inefficient, seem not to care what the customer wants but only what they need to sell. Messed up my order went to O2 and got the phone that I wanted within 10 minutes.

I got a phone call from car phone warehouse enticing me to upgrade from iPhone 4s to iPhone 5s. The promise was to give me £50 worth of accessories. What I received was a starter kit for the iPhone 5c in a tatty box that looked like someone had found it. If I was to have bought it I would have paid £5 max for it, but then I wouldn't have bought it as it wasn't for my phone. When I phoned up to complain I was told I got what I had been promised not sure how that was worked out. Their only advised was to return the phone if I wasn't happy with the deal. If someone is promised something it should be followed through. I WILL NOT BE TAKEN FOR A MUG THE NEXT TIME I AM DUE AN UPDRADE????????

I ordered from carphone warehouse online due to the promise of next day delivery. To start with the web site did not allow me to change the delivery address despite me selecting the option to deliver to a different address than my billing address. I rang and this was sorted out. All of this at around 2pm I asked the customer service agent (3 times as she was not listening to me properly) if the next day delivery would be affected. She promised it would not be. Next day arrives and no phone. I call again to see why and I am advised that the phone has not even left the warehouse. No hint of apology from CPW for missing their promise for delivery but a promise that it will arrive the next day. I am not happy with this but as the agent apparently has no way of contacting the warehouse and is powerless to help me I have no choice but to accept this and wait. I wait and yet again no phone. I call and I am told it is out for delivery tomorrow. 3 days for a next day service. But yet again no apology, no resolution or compensation for the inconvenience is offered by CPW. I selected CPW as they promised to get the item out on time. There is nothing special about the phone or the deal I am getting from them but time and time again they have failed to meet their deadlines and their agents are either powerless to do anything about it. I do not think that it is their fail (the agent on the end of the phone). This type of bad service with no way for the people on the phone to resolve or even offer compensation show utter lack of respect for customer right from the top of the company all the way down.

Shockingly bad service. They do not even deserve a star. Possibly the worst company ever.

Totally disastrous and absolutely useless staff. They are very unhelpful and unwilling to even spend a second to talk to you and help. I am disgusted at Carphone Warehouse's service. They should seriously train their staff better if at all. Having spent so much money on a 2-year contract, is totally not worth it. Worst experience ever. They really do not even deserve the one star. Avoid at all costs.

All they care about is meeting sales quota. They have a no-returns policy and basically lie and mis-sell products and you realise later you can't return stuff you didn't need. Not to be trusted! Don't believe a word! Then they sell your email address and now I'm bombarded with spam emails from PPI and other junk!!! Curry's PC World should not be partnering with this company.....puts me off buying from any of them!!! ! Anger!!!!

Going in to the carphone warehouse in exmouth to ask if I could pay to upgrade early (I new I was about due) they told me it would cost over £500!! I asked to check again they said no. So I left.. Went in to the EE shop in exeter they were the most friendly and helpfully people. Told me it would cost £150 to upgrade early but they would buy my phone off me for £170.. £20 up I thought.. Great! Came home to cancel geek squad the lady on the phone told me it had ran out in November and had all been canceled.. hmmm I thought.. and checked my bank statement.. yes they still have been taken payments off me so when phoned them back told them my details they said they had "lost" all details and they can't believe the women go on my account last time he was so rude and dismissive will not be dealing with them again.

Bought iphone 4s on talkmmobile from Carphone Warehouse at Oldbury, 19th December as a Xmas present for wife on a £15 per month contract. Phone not used till 25th December when sold phone I was not told about the Geek service. Was pressured into buying an accessory kit @ £15 told assistant I did not want it, later offered @ £10 but in the end given to me free. Had trouble putting info in phone went to one of 3 Merryhill, Dudley Carphone shops told they did not have Geek service but gave me a number to ring, rang several times each time got automated call asking to leave message and the at the end it said sorry voicemail box full could not accept any more messages. Went to main shop @ Merryhill, Geek could not help gave me yet another fruitless number, ended up taking phone to local phone shop (LG Mobile Communications Ltd) Dudley who fixed it in minutes for just £5 - Carphone Geek Service is £15 per Month. First bill from Talkmobile was for £18.50, after NUMEROUS phone calls to Talkmobile I was told the extra was to cover for period not used. All in all I would not encourage anyone to go near Carphone Warehouse or Talkmobile

Ordered phone on web 19th December for my son for Christmas. Was supposed to of received e-mail/text to inform me when it was ready to collect from store. No e-mail or text received. Called into shop 23rd December to see if the phone had been delivered only to find 2 phones had been delivered although I had only ordered 1. When checked bank statement they had in fact charged me £79.99 twice, as this was the upfront payment. When I asked in he shop about this the told me that it would be refunded straight away. I was gullible enough to believe this. 6th January received an e-mail stating that the order had been cancelled and a refund would be processed straight away. Still gullible I accepted this. I then went overdraw. 17th January still no refund contacted them again, finally got another e-mail 19th January confirming that a refund had processed and it would be with me within 14 days. Surprise surprise today is the 3rd January and still no refund. phoned on a number of occasions tonight and I keeps getting disconnected or cut off. Totally fed up will never use carphone warehouse again/ I wonder if they will pay my overdraft fee or even interest on my money that they have taken off me!!!!!!!!

Bought my wife a Samsung Galaxy S4 at Xmas on 2 yr contract in Curry/Carphone W at Longwell Green branch. 2 weeks later the screen went so we returned it and it was sent off for repair. Email received saying it's out of warranty as the screen is broken. As we had only had it 2 weeks, and the phone has been in a protective case the whole time, and not dropped or damaged in any way, we naturally assumed they would do the right thing and honour their warranty. WRONG. As I confidently expected they then set about trying to weasel their way out of any contractual obligation saying their hands were tied and there was nothing they could do about it........ unless of course I wished to cough up £169.99 and then they would happppily fix it ! Complaints Dept less than useless, and simply wash their hands of my problem. As I pointed out, Carphone Warehouse have a vested interest in making any problem the customers fault, thereby ridding themselves of any costs involded and placing the onus squarely on the customer to sort (and at their expense) Currently in dialogue with Samsung to try and get this resolved, but will never use Carphone Warehouse for anything again and shall switch to a proper company once my contract expires.

Absolutely, hands down, one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had the misfortune to experience and still the problems continue as I have basically been told by Carphone Warehouse to get lost and deal with head office for my complaint. The offender was a Suliman from the Peterborough store in Currys/PC World who has blatantly mis-sold a new contract instead of an upgrade as I requested and was led to believe resulting in early contract termination charges. After making out I was the stupid one, he fobbed me off with a Customer Care voucher to cover the cancellation charges assuring me "You will not be a penny out of pocket my friend"..... That was until I phones Orange to arrange to get a PAC code and found out the termination charges were even higher that the voucher value and also didn't cover the period of time the new connection I never asked for. With the continual uncovering of more lies and misselling as I was goign through I had had enough and decided that I wanted to cancel the deal and go direct to my current supplier instead. I got told in no uncertain terms that they could do nothing and told me I had to go to head office to get a resolution, which is still not forthcoming. It makes me sick to think I could be stuck with this contract handing money over to a bunch of liars if Head Office tell me to stick it too. AVOID like the plague. They will screw you over in any way to secure a sale.

If I could give it -1* I would. They are the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. On 7th January I was sold a two year contract with talk mobile. I wanted to keep my original number and they said it would port over within one day. It took around seven days for that to happen, I had one call on the new Nokia 530 mobile and it cut out eight times. I took the phone back to carphone warehouse and asked if I could change the phone for a Samsung. They said they would have to cancel my contract and I would have to sign up to a new one. As I was well within my 14 day cooling off period, I decided I wouldn't bother with the contract and would go back to payg. They said my pac code would take 7 to 10 days to get my pac code. Two weeks later they still hadn't got my pac code. I made dozens of phone calls to talk mobile, they just passed me from one department to another but wouldn't give me my pac code. Finally I contacted Ofcom, they said contact the Communications Ombudsman who then told me to contact the Office of Fair Trading. I was told that as I had taken my contract out with carphone warehouse, they were responsible for getting my pac code. On 28th January I went back to the carphone warehouse shop and told them I had been contact with Trading Standards Office and they were breaking the law by not giving me my pac code. Hey Ho, they phoned talk mobile and I was given my pac code within minutes. Carphone Warehouse and Talk Mobile which are one of a kind should be avoided like the plague.

Very bad company, no Care for customers or services, and very shady untrained salesmen Was sold a phone with false information. Telling me I can return the phone if I don't want it and I have 14 days to decide. Came back the day after and was told this was not true and in fact I cannot. Gave verbal Contract to me which WA in fact completely false. Was told by the "manager" who turned out to not even be a manager there, was utterly rude and left me waiting for a total of 3 hours. Wasting my time due to there mistakes. Would not give me the full names of the person who served me or his own name, in fact gave me his nick name of "baz", which is highly unprofessional and seemed very suspicious. Very rude there and the staff seemed to be untrained. This was the Kingston branch next to JB SPORT. Never recommend anyone to use them.

Looked on the website to find a phone for me. Found one i wanted that was within my price range so went in store to pick one up only to find out that it was £50 more expensive in store. There was no mention on the website that it would be £50 more expensive in store. So they told me to order one online to get it for the price i wanted, so, i did just that. The next problem was that the courier that the Carphone Warehouse use (DPD) would only deliver the phone during the day on weekdays. This is not convenient for me as i work all over the country so wouldn't be around to sign for it. So i asked the courier if they would leave it in a safe place for me. They told me that even though they do provide this option, the Carphone Warehouse won't allow them to leave it in a safe place, even with my signature on one of their cards, or okaing it over the phone. Seeing as they work till 7:30pm i asked if they could deliver it to me around 5:30pm as i would be home to sign for it by then. But they told me they couldn't do this. They said they would attempt to redeliver twice more over the next couple of days, and would attempt delivery before 12pm (knowing full well i wouldn't be home) before sending my phone back to a local depot where i could collect it myself. The problem is my local depot is 1 hour and 45 mins away. So the whole process is utterly pathetic and pointless. And both The Carphone Warehouse and DPD couriers have terrible customer services. Needless to say, i won't be using the Carphone Warehouse of DPD courier service ever again.
