They continue to issue a bill, don't inform me that they have issued it and then pursue me for late payment (even after I have paid}!Ive blocked the automatic voice calls because they are so stressful. It is tantamount to harrassment! i cancelled my DD to them because I just dont trust them. They have so many departments and seem very inefficent but it is always the customer that foots the bill! I stopped them sending me paper bills because they either didnt arrive at all or they would arrive at same time as the threatening, bullying letters. Soul less company operating in the rarified atmosphere of what should be a public utility.

Castle Water change bills from 6 monthly to monthly without your permission. They then send bills with penalties even after you have paid for your water. So a £26 bill escalates to several hundred pounds and the scam continues. In our area Castle Water has bullied many customers,including people with poor English,cutting them off. Utilitity companies inform you of a change in contract etc and give you a choice but NOT Castle Water. We never agreed to use Castle Water and it won’t allow you to move to another company whilst their fictitious penalties are in place. The Water Council seem to have a long backlog of complaints against Castle Water so don’t bring them to task!

Worst water supply company in the UK They just play games, waste your time, and do whatever it takes to add unnecessary charges on your bill Speaking to customer services is pointless, and next call they deny that they already spoke with you before, they give you false information to get you to pay recovery charges. Huge mistake switching to their company £1,089.94 is my 6 months bill for a small office that has a toilet only.

this company is completely based on scamming people and charging then extra on their bills this company should be banned for scamming so many people they gave me bill of £935 for not even using water and then send me £140 for late payment after I paid them £935 be careful and change it to different supplier as soon as possible ass I am going to do now

Deliberately unresponsive. Holding a credit of £600 & have not refunded it for 3 months now. The complaints handler just does not communicate. Telephone calls are answered but lead to no resolution.

Use "ESCALATE THIS COMPLAINT" it seems to make them pay attention. Tell them you will take it to the consumer council for water I moved into a business premises that had no water. Two years later Castle water send me a bill and demand immediate payment. It turns out that it was disconnected before I moved in but they still demand payment and instigate court action. Horrible experience. Don't give up. Don't take it personally - maybe soon we will re nationalize our water

i am on 6 monthly billing after castle water put me on monthly, it was changed back after having to pay £780 and a disconnection guy at my pub its totally disgraceful. now even those it was changed back to 6 monthly i keep getting a 3 month bill and just recently a 1 month bill which is higher than the 3 month bill. but yet it has £92 worth of charges for what its a total disgrace and it all about ripping off commercial water users. i am taking it further as this is not right in this climate and my MP is taking on the case and he will go public to name and shame castle water. not only that you get letters emailed and you cant even read them as they are in the wrong format

For over a year I have been asked to read my meter that I have no idea at all where it is. I have had back surgery and told them months upon months ago that I was unable to locate and read it. Eventually they sent an engineer to read it. He apparently said that 'he was unable to read it as there was a lot of leaves in the area'. I then said that I would meet the engineer and would try my best post Operation to move the leaves out of the way. No reply to that. Just continue to request a Meter reading to be submitted. I am nearly 70 years old and still in recovery from Op but they don't seem to care and just continue to send emails which really worries me as there doesn't appear to be an Ombusman to ask for help. Now I have received a letter through the post, by email, and on the Portal telling me that I haven't paid my last Bill. This was paid on receipt and on time on the 17th May as usual through BACS. I called them. I must admit that the gentleman I spoke to was very nice but said that there was no record of the payment and requested I send proof of the transaction. I was unable to do a screen shot on my phone and ended up asking someone else to do for me and they couldn't either. Took a photo of the transaction and have just sent it and am now really worried having read these reviews. If they handle this in the same manner as they have with the meter reading then I could have my credit rating trashed by them through no fault of my own.....

Completely useless . they have been charging me interest on bills i havnt received . i cant get into my accounts so they sent me a code to redo my password . the code never arrived . they have sent me a bill that says i will be charged 1400 a month on direct debt ? Completely bloody useless !

My billing was changed from 6 monthly to monthly without informing me or my authority. No letters were received although Castle Water stated it changed its system on the 24th August 23. My monthly bill of £26 quickly turned into penalties of over £600. The arrogant attitude and incompetence of the call centre staff has not helped. This a loan shark company masquerading as a water company whereas I found out it is just a middle man retailer. The regulator needs to stop them asap

Worst company I have ever dealt with. They raise spurious charges, you raise a complaint, but they think you should still pay and send someone to disconnect even when there is an active dispute in progress. Staff are like robots, it was as if I was speaking to the "computer says no" woman from Little Britain.

Castle water is one of the worse companies in the Uk and with the most annoying and unprofessional employees. I have a small company called Thames Rug Ltd with one employee. I have been over charged by this company more than three years and they sent me always wrong and I had stop my work to call and sort out my issues! When I called them to discuss the bills it took more than 30 minutes to get through someone. Now they are disconnecting the water from my premises for their excellent service customer services.

Nasty, aggressive staff, bully mentality to force payments even when there is a dispute. landlord being sent charges despite there being a tenant and lease in place for the period demanded. Because the tenant has not paid a bill Castle water are trying to bully the landlord into paying with debt collection charges. Proof of leases available and 100% no responsibility of the landlord yet they continue to harass an 82 year old man. When you try to speak to them you are met with an angry rude Scottsman who won't even discuss the dates without getting all wound up. i would urge anyone to move away from castle water and use alternative suppliers

I have been over charged by this company more than three years and they always sent me wrong bills over £2000 and I had stop my work to call and sort out my issues! They stop sending me bills by post for more than 6 months and I received a new bills for six months and it’s over £700. When I called them to discuss the bills it took more than 30 minutes to get through to someone. Now they are disconnecting the water from my premises for their excellent service customer services.

Simply appalling company. I closed our account with them in June 2023. Still, in May 2024 they are sending bills and have engaged a debt collection agency to recover 'unpaid bills' when we pay Thames water every month for our water! Avoid, avoid and if you have an account close it. I am closing all of our accounts with Castle Water. Mark Holloway. CEO Holloways of Ludlow

I Dear Castle Water, I am extremely disappointed with the level of service I have received from your company. Despite making timely payments, I have been subjected to threatening letters from the credit agency. After contacting your customer service, it was revealed that my payment was not properly allocated, yet I am still being held responsible for this mistake. All this billing is effecting me personally on a mental level. Furthermore, I was informed that, according to your terms and conditions, it is my responsibility to read the meters. This lack of accountability on your part is unacceptable. I am deeply troubled by the behavior displayed by your company. It appears that you engage in bullying tactics and discriminate against small bussiness This is a serious concern that should be addressed immediately. If I could post a -10 review I would. In 2 days time I will have a complaint outstanding for 365 days. 12 months, 52 weeks, 1 whole year. And perversely I’ve never been a commercial customer, a remnant of a tenant vacating. I’m a residential owner. yet they intend to pursue their claim through a Debt collector. If it wasn’t so infuriating the fact the amount is for £980.50 for ZERO usage is an abuse of power. Post Office comes to mind.
