My wife bought a dress and paid the £7 for next day delivery and we waited. Then at 10.15pm the next day I called to find that the item had been delivered and signed for but not to my house and they only had a first name and the postcode of the receiver. There needs to be some changes to their system like getting a full name and actually delivering the item. I have received a refund but that still doesn't fix the missing dress needed for a wedding in 2 days time.

I actually have used Debenhams for over 10 years and spent thousands but have noticed over the years their products and service us getting worse. Take for instance the latest issue which means I will never shop with them again. I ordered for click and collect to get a £5 voucher, usually I'd have the free delivery. So I drove to collect, received the voucher with my parcel and drove home. I collected the parcel on the afternoon of the 7th, and realised the following day the voucher had expired! What a con! Contacting customer services on the 9th I get told I can use the voucher up to the 8th! Well I knew that, totally useless and a total con! Never again

Was hoping that it wouldn't come to this but after many weeks of trying to rectify an issue I had no other option avaialble to me then to cancel the order. I dealt with about 7 employees of Debenhams....the customer service was appauling, it seems the catalogue system is incorrect, I had to wait two weeks in total for the full refund. I was offered the option of purchasing the correct items again whilst awaiting the refund to clear!!! Yes you have read this correct....anyway I was suppose to be updated with a gesture of good will for my inconvenience and an explaination as to what went wrong.....guessed right...I haven't been contacted.....I have had no written response to my written formal complaint....I will never shop in Debenhams ever again and will be encouraging all friends and family to shop elsewhere, where your custom is well recieved!!!

Had to contact customer services re damage caused to my propert following delivery; numerous emails sent and chased by myself, debenhams blaming supplier for not getting back to them; contacted supplier directly after 4 months waiting for a decision from debenhams only to be told - debenhams hadn't even been in touch with them and my issue resolved by supplier within two weeks. Appalling customer service by debenhams.

Totally unacceptable customer service. Purchased an Ottoman for our bedroom and it arrived OKish but the it all went downhill very quickly. The item was damaged in several places so sent pictures to them and was offered 10% discount which was not enough. We then told them we wanted to return the item and after numerous phone calls, email and staying in waiting for Hermes to collect it , it is still in our hallway after nearly a month. We have now reached the stage of utter despair and if it is not collected today it will be put out by the garage and a full refund will be demanded. Please please do not use this company as they have no idea what Customer Service is all about.

I purchased some back suede ankle boots in the sale. I drove 6 miles into town to click and collect them. When I got home the box inside was the correct box but it contained an entirely different pair of boots. I contacted debenhams to request the correct shoes to be sent to me. I was treated with suspicion and disbelief that I had been sent the wrong shoes and when they eventually believed me I was told to return the incorrect boots and to re order. By this point the shoes I actually wanted had sold out. Major disappointment. Only after some more complaining was I sent a £5 gift voucher to compensate me for my inconvenience. It turns out that the voucher can only be used online which means I have to go into town again to spend it. I used to think debenhams were a quality store, but I will now be avoiding them at all costs. If you look at other reviews of their online service then clearly many other people are experiencing the same appalling lack of customer service and disorganisation.

Very poor customer service. I was very disappointed when I purchased a suitcase in the sale and found it to be faulty. I returned it in its packaging with labels attached to Debenhams who refused to exchange it as the price had gone up. Their shop assistants are rude and surly and the manager totally ineffective.

Will sell you as many gift cards as you like but will only let you use 3 per purchase. Will never ask people for them as a gift again

Bought an item in the sale, the order was cancelled even though the website indicated that it was in stock. However, it was in stock at a higher price. This is the last in a string of problems I've had with them. Absolutely appalling customer service.

I placed an order for for 2 items- perfume and cosmetic item on Debenhams sale website. The order number and confirmation came back fine. I have, today, received 2 updates by e mail, one stating that the perfume had been cancelled and the beauty card points totalling £5 had not been taken off the total bill, which, incidentally was incorrect. I have phoned customer services and whilst the respondent was polite and as helpful as he could be I was told the perfume cannot be supplied at the sale price it was advertised at when the sale was agreed and confirmed - surprisingly there is a clause in the T&C's that covers this! My half of an order cannot now be cancelled as it has been dispatched - conveniently. This is not the first time I've been completely dissatisfied with Debenhams and I will be more than happy to cancel my store card and shop elsewhere - well done Debenhams, inaccurate advertising and confirmation, rubbish customer respect and totally disingenuous sale!

I am a visitor to London, it was early morning and was casually looking around the make up counters in Debenhams in Wimbledon, when I approached a very helpful Chanel saleswoman who 'made up' my face up beautifully at no notice as it was generally quiet. Later that evening, when I went to visit my elderly mother, even she remarked how radiant I looked. Thank you Nighat Hussain. That was great. I will use the free sample of moistureriser on Saturday. I love debenhams so this is not reference their shops or staff but their online portal. I have 2 gift cards which I tried to use online for click and collect, I used one and a card to pay for two items and was going to use another plus card for a further two items. After considerable faffing around the first purchase went through only to realise the entire amount had been billed to my card!, needless to say I didn't then purchase the further two items. Extremely poor !

I waz just cumin owt of thu job senter wen man wuz cravin bare fagz, went intoo debanahams to get me marlbruh. Went to de tilz and sum nutty geeza behind the tillz sed dat he dont sell n.e fagz. So fort I wud go rownd and get me sum lonzdale trakkies but dey did not sell um. iz gon get mi crewdem to go blitz on dis ting fam.

Just had to pass this on to you as so often counter attendants get really bad press. I was in Debenhams Falkirk this morning, as the tills were busy, I went to the cosmetic counter to be served. I was served with Avril, whom I found a great help compared with other store in this centre. Avril was so pleasant and willing to help me it was a very nice gesture I will certainly be returning to Debenhams in the near future as their customer service training is second to none. Thank you Avril for making my day.

I was with my daughter and grand-daughter on Saturday 21 March at the Leicester Highcross store . My daughter had made an appointment for a personal shopper to help her 13 year old daughter find an outfit for a wedding. Hafsa, our personal shopper, was absolutely fantastic; she listened, made suggestions and was, at all times, conscious of what was going to give my grand-daughter confidence in her chosen outfit. We certainly wouldn't have come away happy without Hafsa's help; we can't thank her enough. I thoroughly recommend this service and Hafsa, if you can get her.

Terrible after sales service. When you contact them they send you a list of suppliers for YOU to contact the supplier/ manufacturer direct. The list of rip-off prime number telephone numbers is all you get. When I contacted them saying, 'my agreement/ contract is with you - debenhams plus not a the supplier or manufacturer' - they became very off hand saying the problem was wear and tear and that i should have told them earlier! Take my advice, DONT BOTHER!

I had a problem with my store card couldn't get any help on the website and I wasn't prepared to pay premier rate phone charges so I spoke to one of the assistants on the jewellery counter her name is Karen she got on the phone and we got everything sorted she was fantastic. The store is in Livingston west lothian

I booked a personal shopper on the 28/02/2015 at 2.30pm Preston branch. My personal shoppers name was Sue. She was fantastic,I found her to be honest but not unkind I came out with everything I needed for a very special day. Although I went in Debenhams thinking I knew exactly what I wanted to wear Sue brought a rack of clothes which I would have never have chosen, and her advice was to keep an open mind and try the clothes on first before I dismissed them.She was right the clothes I tried on seemed to suit my figure and the outfits she had picked out for me looked great.I did not feel hurried into choosing my outfit and felt like Nothing was too much trouble for Sue.She was pleasant professional and extremely helpful.This is a service I would definitely use again and would be asking for Sue Weatherall. Thank you Sue for the first time you made shopping for clothes for myself a very enjoyable experience.
