“Typical insurance company although they will say they are not they are an extended guarantee company
Have taken money off me for 6 years for cover on 5 kitchen appliances total amount well in excess of £2500 had 3 calls in that time and now they are telling me the don't cover a screw attaching a hinge that is attached to the machine that was supplied with the machine that has gone faulty as the " external hinges and fixings "are excluded although I can't find any reference to this in the policy documents (what a surprise ) this hinge and screws are now an obsolete part so I can't even buy them and fit them myself
I pay £50 ISH a month for this cover now looking to put this into a savings account to replace/repair the appliances and keep it away from these robbers
UPDATE : Just got hold of 2 screws same size fitted them myself SORTED. Which is all I wanted

“Mi experiencia con esta aseguradora no ha podido ser peor. No la recomiendo en absoluto. Estuve pagando el seguro durante más de un año hasta que el móvil se me estropeó. Lo primero, me hicieron pagar 21 euros para que me recogieran el móvil, pero lo peor es que me lo devolvieron hecho una chapuza. Volvieron a recoger el móvil y cuando me lo devolvieron, la chapuza era la misma y encima el móvil venía sin la ranura para meter la tarjeta Sim, es decir, no podía utilizar el móvil. Además, durante todo este tiempo, todo eran problemas para poner reclamaciones y mil formularios que rellenar. Al final, me dijeron que me indemnizaban pero que no me decían el importe de la indemnización ¡hasta que no pagara otros 24 euros del resto de las cuotas del seguro! Todo es pagarles por todo y encima no te aseguran cuándo es el importe de la indemnización, pero ellos ya se aseguran 24 euros más. De verdad, unos timadores y un pésimo servicio técnico.”

Absolutely not worth the money
Absolutely not worth the money. Boiler written off by highly qualified engineer after d and g refused to repair it. Most of the problems were historical leaks which the yearly service has totally failed to spot and repair. Complaint letter totally ignored although three sent, one registered. This company and its policies are A SCAM! Would have not even given one star but I had to give some star rating in order to give a review.”
“So basically I think I paid insurance on a machine for 7 years, every month £5.49 I never once missed a payment. My machine breaks, they send out an engineer, who says there’s too many problems with the old machine and I’ll probably get a new one if I’ve been paying a long while... so I get a text telling I’m entitled to a new machine, the only option of machine is the one I chose. It comes, bitterly disappointed, it leaks, it has a reservoir of water in the door by the seal after every wash that spills on the floor, it has a rubbish wash cycle so the powder doesn’t wash out, all clothes come out dripping wet, it has a fraction of the presets on it my old machine does.... guess what?! They won’t change it because it’s been installed and used... of course it has! I’m a working mother I like to have clean laundry and send my children to school in clean clothes! Not to mention the fact I also like to smell nice and fresh for work rather than use the clothes that were in the basket when the machine broke.... there was no option other than the machine I have been given and it is NOT of the same standard.”
“Seriously, don’t bother ! Put the £15 a month away towards a new appliance when you might need to buy a new one. The whole point of the cover for me is to get a timely repair, what’s the point when they expect you to wait 3weeks for an engineer to come and look !!! “Well we’re very busy” means nothing to me ! I have children’s clothes that need washing.Will be cancelling and saving the monthly fee for when it’s needed.
They gave a date for the engineer to visit so I booked a day off work. With LESS THAN 24 hours to the appointment they rang to say it won’t be happening, and put it back by 2.5 weeks !!!!!!!!

“I have had my plan for 11 years and called them out twice. Reported my washing machine faulty on 28/10/2019. The engineer came out on Saturday 02.11.2015 and said the motor needed replacing and he would order it on Monday. Engineer called me on 05.11.2019 to say he has ordered the part but it is in France. He said for me to contact D+G, which I did. Spoke to them and they put me through to Hotpoint who said it would be 4-5 weeks and then 5 days in their distribution centre. Spoke to D+G again who put me through to their resolutions team, the man I spoke to was very unhelpful said he would contact Hotpoint on 15th Nov, I asked what I was supposed to do about my washing, he said he was not there to tell me what to do. I went to their press 2 if you are unhappy. Explained yet again, man said he would email Hotpoint the next day and ring me with an update. No call so rang on 11th Nov and spent over an hour being passed around was told that the part was in and I am booked in for 14th Nov, I explained no one had told me, they said they had left a voicemail, they hadn't. Passed to Hotpoint again who said they could do 15th, explained I work full time Mon-Fri, Hotpoint apparently don't work weekends. Back to D+G who put me through to resolutions again, explained I am not prepared to take a day's annual leave and I live alone. Put me through to their escalations team who basically said its in the plan that repairs are Mon-Fri so they can't complete the repair unless I make arrangements to take a day off work (would have to give a weeks notice) and that is their stance, they can't make engineers work overtime. So I have paid about £1300 pounds, spent around 3 hours on the phone and will have to buy a new machine anyway. The worst service I have ever had, I don't know why they have a resolutions team as they resolve nothing and the senior complaints team just tell you it is in the plan. I would tell anyone just put the money away each month and use that because you will never get anywhere with them. Sad that I had to give 1 star because no stars is more applicable. My advice to anyone thinking of taking out a plan with them is don't bother.”

D + G took over service contract for Hotpoint Tumble Dryer earlier this year.
A repair was booked in for Friday 1st November with a time slo9t of 12 noon -6pm , which was a wait of over a week. I took time off work to be in - nobody turned up. After a Lengthy 30 minutes plus, phone call- and with confirmation that the date and time of the booking was correct, no reason or apology was given for the "no show".
after being passed to at least 3 departments, they offered a new date of 11th November,but said they did not want to give us that date as it was to long to wait.
They gave me a reference number and a phone number of The Regional Repair Centre in Tyseley Birmingham and told me they could do the repair quicker- I phoned ,0121 789 9991 and after several attempts i got to speak to someone. They gave me a date of Friday 7th November, but told me i would need to supply them with the policy number as well as the quoted reference number. I was also told this needed to be received by this morning for the booking to stand. I have phoned every 15 minutes since 10pm, nobody has answered as at 2.30pm.
At 12 noon i did get a pre recorded message saying they are out to lunch between 12 noon and 1pm.
I have phoned the D+G complaints number , which again is automated,and again they leave you hanging on with the normal apologies but no action.
FULL OF QUOTES ON WHAT A GREAT COMPANY THEY ARE , AND THEIR STANDING AS AN FT250 COMPANY- BUT YOU ARE NOT A GOOD COMPANY AND YOU HAVE NO TIME FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS- I am also annoyed that the lowest rating i can give is 1.
I am sure your profit margins are good because youi take the money and don't provide any service.”
“Don't go near them, offered me an upgraded TV to replace my broken LG TV. The supposed upgrade, which i also had to pay extra for,was a cheap pile of rubbish and now they say hard luck. The complaints office were not interested, worst customer service I have ever come across.Was told they would call back in 24 hrs, 10 days later i had to call them and still they tried to fob me off.The so called customer advisors don't have a clue, steer well clear of this bunch of clowns. “Ive insured our washing machine fridge freezer and dishwasher with D & G for years.
They used to be very good.
This year our dishwasher rubber seal was ragged and the man sent out, condemned it. D&G supplied a Hotpoint HSFC3M19C replacement. This machine does not work and I have installed Salt and Rinse aid to no avail; also an engineer came and adjusted the height of the drain pipe a the back, and levelled the feet, which the installer hadn't bothered to do. This morning Ive been phoning Hotpoint, and D and G. to get a further engineer out. Ive given up as I have achieved nothing all morning. The websites are like mazes, you have to know policy numbers and service names, and once on the phone they both keep putting you on hold while you are to be transferred to another department. Cancelling my D&G Policies. This is looking like a very un- customer friendly company, now. What Happened?? Disgusted.”
