Had no machine since nov . Was written off for replacement mon . Rang explained I have a embarrassing medical condition that I need a machine got pushed from pillow to post and been spoken to rudely not phoned back etc etc and it could now take another 48 hours to sort which will be four days before I even can order new machine if it happens!!! Disgusted

The customer service is absolutely atrocious. Call handlers are rude, the managers refuse to speak to you, the call handlers have discusting attitude and hang up when they can't be bothered speaking. Would 100% NOT recomend this company.

Absolute waste of money and time having a policy with these guys. Read your T+Cs carefully. What they did do was replace a faulty fridge freezer. So in that respect they did at least deliver there. What didn't work quite so well was basically everything else. Fridge/Freezer was integrated - replacement delivered but old one couldn't be taken as they aren't insured to remove integrated appliances.... Were we informed beforehand? No. AO very apologetic and confirmed they constantly hear complaints from customers about D and G customer care. Resolution there came none except an apology for not informing us and a recommendation to use checkatrader to get the old one removed prior to installation of the new. Cost so far £80 (owing to D and G not informing this was last minute and the fridge needed installing the following day) plus spend to date on a policy with D and G which I dread to think about having to add up given the care received. When informed D and G that the person living in the property was elderly and it took two men to lift the appliance just to deliver therefore there was no way it could be switched off ahead of being replaced the response from D and G was sorry use checkatrader and get it switched off. Apologies again but no real action from D and G other than to say they could reschedule the appointment to install the new fridge freezer. AO also put out as they have had to reschedule a collection for the old fridge as well so everyone but D and G suffer. Absolute joke of a company. There is a reason they get so many bad reviews. Now we know they are all true. I would honestly rather just pay for a new fridge than give these jokers any more of my money.

Had to pay for a boiler engineer myself. Supposed to pay me back but guess what nothing. Policy through Scottish power and guess what they can’t help.

I have a fault with my Tumble Dryer which packed up on the 23-11-2019. They gave me and appointment for 28-11-2019 so booked a day of work. No Engineer turned up then i het a call saying your appointment has been cancelled due to the engineer calling in sick. So another appointment was booked for 03-12-2019 which is today so ive booked another day of work and low and behold the appointment has been cancelled and for some reason no one can tell me why. Domestic and general is a joke they have no control over anything. This is the first and last item i buy from AO with domestic and general cover. Thanks for nothing D&G.

I’m a leukaemia patient still having ongoing treatment. I’ve suffered 3 mini heart attacks recently and came home discharged from Kings Hospital arriving home 10 pm to find boiler not working. I’m still recovering from pneumonia diagnosed October,ie 6 weeks ago.No hot water no heating, sub zero temperatures outside. Frost on cars, grass and house freezing cold with no hot water. Rang D&G as I have service plan. Firstly they take your call out fee so you’ve no escape backwards because they won’t help you whatsoever until your excess fee clears. Despite that I have serious complex health issues lady said 1st available engineers in 48 hours time. Call out any time during day won’t offer even an am or pm or indication of time. Just some point 8 am to 6 pm. Told her I live alone I’m literally just discharged but have massive ongoing health treatments. Couldn’t care less she was unsympathetic, unhelpful, almost enjoyed that I was crying and clearly in distress. Don’t pay them your money pay more and get a plan that’s designed to help you when things actually go wrong, they’re happy to take your money and welcome you as a customer but what’s the point when they throw you under the bus when you need help? Go to a provider that supports you when you need them even if that’s paying a bit more money each month, it’s worth it.

Having had an integrated washer dryer insured for over 6 years at a total cost of over £1,200 in payments it was written off when parts became obsolete. D&G ordered me a replacement machine (value less than £400) but refused to install it. They also refused to remove the old machine, despite me having paid a fee for them to do so. I’ve subsequently spent £75 to have a machine installed which was supposedly fully insured!

Typical insurance company although they will say they are not they are an extended guarantee company Have taken money off me for 6 years for cover on 5 kitchen appliances total amount well in excess of £2500 had 3 calls in that time and now they are telling me the don't cover a screw attaching a hinge that is attached to the machine that was supplied with the machine that has gone faulty as the " external hinges and fixings "are excluded although I can't find any reference to this in the policy documents (what a surprise ) this hinge and screws are now an obsolete part so I can't even buy them and fit them myself I pay £50 ISH a month for this cover now looking to put this into a savings account to replace/repair the appliances and keep it away from these robbers UPDATE : Just got hold of 2 screws same size fitted them myself SORTED. Which is all I wanted YOUR LOSS domestic and general if you are thinking about taking out a cover plan DONT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do not insure with domestic and general nothing but hassle got my insurance through AO will never buy of AO or insure through domestic and general again far mor reputable firms out there

Another repair need to be done on our washing machine, one repair was not even carried out correctly which caused it to leak, now have to wait a week before it can be looked at again, they need more engineers to help speed up long waiting times.

Has boiler cover with D&G , there repair agents failed to repair issues and now I’m left with out heating and a young child , there a terrible company to deal with. I’m going to the ombudsman which I would suggest anyone to go to , even if you don’t win your case they are still charged by the Financial ombudsman And that’s pleasure enough for me when I spend 8hrs on the phone with them one day

Mi experiencia con esta aseguradora no ha podido ser peor. No la recomiendo en absoluto. Estuve pagando el seguro durante más de un año hasta que el móvil se me estropeó. Lo primero, me hicieron pagar 21 euros para que me recogieran el móvil, pero lo peor es que me lo devolvieron hecho una chapuza. Volvieron a recoger el móvil y cuando me lo devolvieron, la chapuza era la misma y encima el móvil venía sin la ranura para meter la tarjeta Sim, es decir, no podía utilizar el móvil. Además, durante todo este tiempo, todo eran problemas para poner reclamaciones y mil formularios que rellenar. Al final, me dijeron que me indemnizaban pero que no me decían el importe de la indemnización ¡hasta que no pagara otros 24 euros del resto de las cuotas del seguro! Porque resulta que tienes que pagar un año entero de seguro para que te den la indemnización. Osea, una verguenza y unos timadores! Todo es pagarles por todo y encima no te aseguran cuándo es el importe de la indemnización, pero ellos ya se aseguran 24 euros más. De verdad, unos timadores y un pésimo servicio técnico.

First of all they need to hire more call centre staff I have been trying to speak to someone for over a hour. Once you have spoken to someone after waiting hours and hours they will keep passing you around to different departments. Waste of time,

Updated 3 minutes ago Absolutely not worth the money Absolutely not worth the money. Boiler written off by highly qualified engineer after d and g refused to repair it. Most of the problems were historical leaks which the yearly service has totally failed to spot and repair. Complaint letter totally ignored although three sent, one registered. This company and its policies are A SCAM! Would have not even given one star but I had to give some star rating in order to give a review.

So basically I think I paid insurance on a machine for 7 years, every month £5.49 I never once missed a payment. My machine breaks, they send out an engineer, who says there’s too many problems with the old machine and I’ll probably get a new one if I’ve been paying a long while... so I get a text telling I’m entitled to a new machine, the only option of machine is the one I chose. It comes, bitterly disappointed, it leaks, it has a reservoir of water in the door by the seal after every wash that spills on the floor, it has a rubbish wash cycle so the powder doesn’t wash out, all clothes come out dripping wet, it has a fraction of the presets on it my old machine does.... guess what?! They won’t change it because it’s been installed and used... of course it has! I’m a working mother I like to have clean laundry and send my children to school in clean clothes! Not to mention the fact I also like to smell nice and fresh for work rather than use the clothes that were in the basket when the machine broke.... there was no option other than the machine I have been given and it is NOT of the same standard.

Seriously, don’t bother ! Put the £15 a month away towards a new appliance when you might need to buy a new one. The whole point of the cover for me is to get a timely repair, what’s the point when they expect you to wait 3weeks for an engineer to come and look !!! “Well we’re very busy” means nothing to me ! I have children’s clothes that need washing.Will be cancelling and saving the monthly fee for when it’s needed. They gave a date for the engineer to visit so I booked a day off work. With LESS THAN 24 hours to the appointment they rang to say it won’t be happening, and put it back by 2.5 weeks !!!!!!!! Should be zero stars not one but can’t select zero unfortunately. Anybody that reads these reviews but still goes ahead with getting cover must be mad !!!
